Chapter 214: Chapter 214
Irina’s POV
The entire forest completely froze.
The chaotic, deafening sounds of the gunfight instantly died. The howling wind seemed to hold its breath. For one singular, terrifying heartbeat, the brutal world of the mafia underworld simply stood still.
Roman violently lowered his heavy assault rifle. His dark, hardened eyes were blown incredibly wide. He completely stopped breathing. Andrei stood entirely paralyzed right next to him. His jaw was literally hanging open. The fierce Royal Gamma looked like he had just seen a ghost.
Even the four massive rogues stopped running.
They turned their ugly, heavily scarred faces toward the tree line. The thick, freezing mist violently parted around my massive body. I was glowing. My pure, thick white fur radiated a terrifying, divine light in the pitch-black woods. It was a blinding halo against the bloody snow.
I wasn’t a broken Omega anymore. I wasn’t the fragile human girl who scrubbed floors for the Iron Thorn pack. I wasn’t the rejected mate who cowered in the dark corners of Maxim’s cruel dungeon.
I was a beast. I was a true Luna.
A terrifying, raw Alpha power violently surged through my veins. It was like drinking pure, liquid fire. My blood vibrated with ancient magic. My heavy, incredibly dense muscles coiled tight like steel springs. The agonizing pain from my twisted ankle and bruised human knees was completely gone. The crushing exhaustion entirely vanished.
I felt absolutely invincible. The Moon Goddess had finally given me my weapon.
I didn’t stop to think. I didn’t stop to analyze this impossible miracle.
I stared directly at the rogue carrying my mate. The massive, filthy mercenary was gripping Nicholas’s limp, bleeding body by his heavy tactical armor. The distinct, metallic scent of my King’s royal blood aggressively hit my enhanced nose. It mixed with the disgusting, rotting stench of the enemy.
*Mine.*
My inner wolf violently roared. The sound didn’t just echo in my mind. It physically ripped from my massive throat. It was a deafening, earth-shattering snarl that violently shook the snow directly off the massive pine branches. It was a sound of absolute, lethal dominance.
I charged.
My massive white paws slammed aggressively into the icy mud. I didn’t just run. I completely exploded forward. The speed was absolutely mind-blowing. The freezing wind violently whipped against my face, but I didn’t care. I covered the fifty yards in three massive, terrifying leaps. The ground violently shuddered beneath my heavy weight.
"Shoot her!" one of the rogues screamed frantically. His voice violently cracked with pure terror. "Kill it! Now!"
The rogue holding Nicholas panicked. His ugly face twisted in absolute horror. He violently dropped my mate. Nicholas’s heavy, armored body crashed aggressively into the bloody, freezing snow.
The rogue desperately pulled a massive, jagged machete from his tactical belt. He didn’t even have time to swing it. He didn’t even have time to shift his own body.
I lunged.
I completely bypassed his heavy weapon. My massive jaws snapped open, revealing row after row of lethal, razor-sharp fangs. I slammed directly into his chest with the unstoppable force of a speeding freight train.
*CRACK.*
His heavy ribs violently shattered under my raw weight. We crashed aggressively into the frozen dirt. The rogue screamed in pure, unadulterated agony. He wildly slashed the heavy machete directly at my glowing white fur.
The sharp steel blade aggressively hit my shoulder. It didn’t even break the skin. The metal violently sparked and bounced off my fur like I was made of solid, impenetrable diamond.
I didn’t hesitate. I didn’t feel a single ounce of mercy. This monster took my mate. This monster brought pain to my Alpha.
I violently clamped my massive jaws directly around his thick, sweaty neck. I tasted his foul, rotten blood. I aggressively crushed his windpipe. Heavy flesh tore effortlessly. Thick bone snapped like dry, brittle twigs. I violently ripped his throat completely out in one brutal, savage motion.
Hot, dark blood aggressively sprayed across the pristine white snow.
I violently tossed his dead, mangled body aside like a broken, useless toy. I stood entirely over his bleeding corpse. My massive chest heaved. Hot steam poured from my jaws into the freezing air.
I stared at my bloody paws in absolute shock. I couldn’t believe it. I had never felt this kind of terrifying, dominating strength. I had spent my entire life completely cowering. I was beaten. I was starved. I was violently abused by my stepbrother and ignored by my own father. A single punch from a pack warrior used to completely break me. I was always the victim in this dark, violent mafia world.
But right now? I was a god of death.
The hypnotic spell finally broke. The silent forest violently erupted into absolute chaos again.
"For the Luna!" Roman roared aggressively. His deep, dominating voice violently shook the jagged mountain peaks. "Protect the Queen! Tear them all apart!"
Roman and Andrei violently charged into the clearing. The rest of the surviving pack warriors flooded in right behind them. Their glowing eyes burned with lethal, predatory rage. Seeing their Luna shift—seeing the mythical white wolf—ignited an unstoppable, violent frenzy in their blood.
The remaining three Kossarov rogues instantly realized they were entirely doomed. Panic completely consumed them. They dropped their heavy weapons. They tried to desperately bolt into the dark, suffocating shadows of the tree line.
They didn’t even make it ten feet.
Roman aggressively tackled the largest rogue directly to the rocky ground. He didn’t bother using his assault rifle. He violently shifted halfway, his thick claws tearing completely through his tactical gloves. He aggressively pinned the screaming mercenary down. He violently ripped the rogue’s face to absolute shreds. Blood pooled heavily in the mud.
Andrei lunged aggressively at another escaping rogue. He violently grabbed the mercenary by his thick hair. He aggressively snapped the man’s heavy neck with one brutal, echoing twist. The loud crack sounded like a gunshot in the dark woods.
The royal warriors aggressively swarmed the absolute last rogue. They completely buried him under a massive, violent wave of heavy fangs and lethal claws. The rogue’s frantic, desperate screams were violently cut short. They tore him apart limb from limb.
The brutal melee raged all around me. The sickening stench of fresh death and hot, pouring blood completely filled the freezing night air. The sounds of bones breaking and flesh tearing echoed violently.
But I completely stopped caring about the slaughter. I entirely ignored the chaotic, aggressive violence happening just feet away from me.
My bright, piercing blue eyes violently snapped down to the frozen, bloody dirt.
Nicholas.
He was lying in a massive, terrifying pool of his own dark blood. His custom royal combat armor was completely shredded. Deep, violent gashes tore aggressively across his broad chest and heavily muscled stomach. He wasn’t moving. His massive chest wasn’t rising. He wasn’t breathing properly.
My inner wolf violently whined. The terrifying, dominating Alpha power instantly faded. It was completely replaced by pure, blinding, human panic.
*I need my hands. I need to touch him.*
I aggressively forced the shift. I violently commanded my massive, glowing wolf to retreat into the shadows of my soul. The ancient, sacred magic responded instantly.
*CRACK.*
My heavy, massive bones violently snapped and instantly reformed. The thick, glowing white fur rapidly melted away. The freezing, biting winter cold violently slammed back into my fragile human skin. I fell hard. My bare, heavily bruised knees crashed aggressively into the icy, bloody mud.
I was back in my torn, filthy jeans and ruined jacket. I was small. I was incredibly fragile again. I was just a girl in a terrifying world of monsters.
But I didn’t care about my weakness anymore.
I violently scrambled across the bloody, freezing snow. I crawled frantically on my bare hands and bruised knees. The freezing, wet mud aggressively soaked directly through my clothes, chilling me to the bone.
The royal warriors were still loudly howling in absolute victory behind me. Roman was violently shouting aggressive, tactical commands to completely secure the dark perimeter. Andrei was brutally kicking a dead rogue out of the path.
I didn’t look at any of them. I didn’t hear a single word they said.
The entire world completely vanished. The dark, terrifying forest, the mutilated dead bodies, the bitter, freezing cold—it all faded into absolute nothingness. The only thing that existed in my entire universe was the bleeding man lying in the snow.
I frantically reached his heavy, broken body.
My trembling, bloody hands gently touched his cold, terribly pale face.
My eyes were only on the unconscious Nicholas.
