Chapter 87: System, you are Amazing!

The prince had never cultivated this Mystical Power before, but he knew that the Eye of Truth would not increase one’s battle prowess in any way and could only help one see through false illusions. In his opinion, what use was there for such an ability?

Thus, he was naturally a bit guilty. But no matter how lousy a Mystical Power was, it was still a Mystical Power. That was why he dared to offer it to tempt Darius into supporting him.

Darius was stunned for a moment before ecstasy rose up in his heart.

The Eye of Truth indeed did not possess any ability to damage or harm one’s opponent. However, it was even more precious than a lot of other Mystical Powers that had offensive abilities, because it would allow one to see through all kinds of false illusions and perceive the real truth. In a simpler example, after cultivating the Eye of Truth, he would no longer need to fear any kind of illusionary art or deception.

And what was even more terrifying was the fact that the Eye of Truth would allow him to see the weaknesses of both himself and his opponent.

Being able to see the weaknesses of others would allow him to maximize his attacks to their fullest extent, while being able to see his own weaknesses would allow him to improve upon them. Even if there was no way for him to eliminate those weaknesses, he would still be able to protect them better.

Darius did not know whether there were any even stronger abilities hidden within this Mystical Power. After all, he himself had the Eye of Truth!

Who would have thought? Who would have thought that, in this tiny Dragon City, there would actually be hidden such a powerful Mystical Power that was rewarded by the system?

Darius thought for a moment. Did the system deceive him? If anyone could obtain the Eye of Truth, then wouldn’t anyone be able to receive a panel and gain rapid cultivation through killing demons and demonic cultivators alike?

Reaching such a point, the system’s robotic voice interrupted. Its tone held a slight irritation.

"Host, you keep comparing these useless things to the system over and over again. The Eye of Truth you obtained is a million times stronger. The one you heard about is merely useful for seeing through illusions and similar tricks. It cannot give you a panel, cannot grant you free power, and cannot upgrade alongside your cultivation progress.

"It’s a cheap imitation that could hardly even be called a fake. A scrap of metal is what it should be called. For the host to be moved by such lowly things, does the host not reflect upon the system’s services and its future potential?"

Darius was moved in his heart, but there was no hint of change in his expression. How could he be so easily swayed when he already possessed the real Eye of Truth and had the system behind him? He asked, "Your Highness does not seem to have cultivated this Mystical Power?"

Otherwise, he might not have taken it out as a bargaining chip.

The Eldest Prince shook his head and said, "The Eye of Truth has a very special condition for inheritance. It is hidden within an eyeball, and one must somehow gain its acceptance and acknowledgment before it can directly enter one’s consciousness. Otherwise, it is nothing more than a piece of scrap."

Darius gave an "oh" of understanding. No wonder he dared to offer it as part of a deal. Otherwise, he would have already used it himself instead of bargaining with it. But inwardly, he was already uninterested in joining the Eldest Prince’s faction. He was here only for the benefit and reputation of his pavilion.

Intriguing.

He smiled and said, "When Your Highness can bring that eyeball to me, we can continue discussing our cooperation. But as for now, let’s just be friends, all right?" With a casual excuse, Darius shifted the conversation and ended the matter there.

The Eldest Prince knew very well that empty promises would not be enough to move Darius. Whatever he could promise, the Third Prince and the others could promise as well, meaning he held no real advantage over them. However, he had at least managed to befriend Darius, so other matters could be advanced slowly over time.

"Young Master Darius, there will be an auction at the Spirit Treasures Pavilion the day after tomorrow, and it is rumored that there will even be an incomparably precious Foundation Building Pill up for auction. Are you interested in taking a look?" the Eldest Prince earnestly inquired.

Darius could not help but put on a strange expression. This Foundation Building Pill was naturally useless to him given his panel, and even if he did not possess the panel, creating such a pill would merely be a matter of time with his inheritance. He was just about to shake his head in refusal, but then reconsidered. Dragon City was rather backward and weak, but what if the system could help him identify hidden treasures? Who knew whether there might be valuable items whose worth had yet to be recognized?

"I don’t mind going to take a look."

He changed his mind.

"Hahahaha, then I shall come and receive you personally the day after tomorrow." The Eldest Prince was very satisfied. If he appeared in public together with Darius, it would definitely create the impression that they shared a very close relationship. By that time, those middle-class families would have to reconsider their positions.

Darius nodded and took his leave. He still had to go and visit Shen and Annie.

But right before he left, he could not help but turn his head and remind him, "Friend, do not forget that my Immortal Pavilion sells services beyond your imagination. Even Earth’s technological advancements pale in comparison. Would you like to take a look in an hour or so?"

The Eldest Prince was slightly startled upon hearing the word "friend," but he quickly regained his composure and replied with a smile, "I shall visit, I shall visit. If your services are as good as you claim, I don’t mind helping spread your pavilion’s fame. Haha."
