Chapter 86: Eye of Truth!

In Dragon City, and even throughout the entire Guardian Empire, due to the restrictions placed on martial arts and cultivation techniques, no matter how talented a person was, they would still be unable to break through to the fourth realm, the Divine Sect Realm. Thus, the Eldest Prince’s promise could be considered unbelievably tempting. Even the elders of Wolf Fang would most likely be moved by such an offer.

However, for Darius, what was so difficult about breaking through to the Divine Sect Realm? He had the panel, and as long as he continued to gain power, bottlenecks were practically nonexistent for him.

At this moment, a system notification rang in Darius’s ears. A look of understanding appeared in his dark eyes, and a flicker of pity could even be seen in his smile.

’Frog in a well. Truly, a frog in a well.’

He shook his head and spoke.

"Though I am not sure about the exact details, it should have something to do with the power of the nation, right?"

Darius was genuinely curious about the information he had just received and wanted confirmation, so he looked at the Eldest Prince with a raised brow.

The Eldest Prince was instantly struck dumb.

The power of a nation could help an elite of the Celestial Human Realm break through to the Divine Sect Realm. Such a massive secret had only been discovered by the Eldest Prince through an extremely fortunate coincidence. Moreover, this was not true Divine Sect Realm cultivation, as it required a continuous supply of national power to maintain. Otherwise, one would quickly fall back to the mortal realms.

It was precisely because of this that there existed only a single Divine Sect Realm expert overseeing the entire Dragon City Region.

When the Eldest Prince presented this condition, he had actually been somewhat misleading. If he ascended to the throne, he would indeed allow Darius to borrow the power of the nation, but for how long Darius would be allowed to use it... that was another matter entirely.

After all, by then, he would be the new Lord of Dragon City and hold authority over the entire region. With such power in his grasp, who would dare oppose him?

He had never expected Darius to possess a deeper understanding of the power of the nation than he did. Even more surprising was the fact that Darius clearly did not value it very highly.

The Eldest Prince could not help but feel bewildered. Women, wealth, and power... Darius wanted none of them. That alone was unusual, but even the opportunity to step into the Divine Sect Realm was treated as if it were something ordinary.

He was truly at a loss.

Such a man seemed to have no desires at all, and as the saying went, a man without desires could not be easily swayed. What else could he possibly offer to attract Darius’s support?

Darius smiled and said, "To be honest, I do not know any princes or important figures. I am merely a pavilion owner. If Your Highness wishes, we can be friends. I have no desire for power and no intention of interfering in struggles for the throne."

The Eldest Prince visibly relaxed upon hearing this. He frowned slightly, considered for a moment, then asked, "Does Young Master Darius have any interest in Mystical Powers?"

Previously, after reviewing Darius’s background, the Eldest Prince had regarded him as nothing more than a spoiled young master who had somehow managed to gain the favor of several alchemists. Much like James, Darius seemed to possess an unknown background.

As a result, although he had wanted to maintain a good relationship with Darius, he had not truly respected him deep down.

However, after speaking with Darius, he no longer dared underestimate this young man who was only sixteen or seventeen years old. Unconsciously, he had even begun addressing him more respectfully.

Darius was surprised.

"Mystical Powers?"

"That’s right, Mystical Powers." The Eldest Prince nodded and began to explain. "Mystical Powers are extremely unique. Some possess tremendous offensive capabilities and can severely wound enemies. Others are focused on support and assistance during battle. Some people claim they are a type of martial arts technique, yet they do not consume Spiritual Energy or Qi. Regardless, every Mystical Power is incredibly precious and cannot be purchased with wealth alone."

Darius naturally knew what Mystical Powers were. Following the explanation about the power of the nation, the system had provided him with a little additional information.

In truth, this damned system of his seemed to know quite a lot and only chose to speak whenever the information became relevant.

He did not know whether it simply did not want to overwhelm him too early or whether it was saving information for future rewards and missions. Either way, he was pleased to be learning more about this world.

According to the system, there existed special physiques capable of wielding Mystical Powers such as "Swallow the Heavens and Devour the Earth." Even if such a person was a major realm below their opponent, they could still pose a deadly threat, which demonstrated just how terrifying Mystical Powers could be.

Unfortunately, the system had provided no information regarding their origins or whether he could obtain them as future rewards.

Darius’s interest was immediately piqued.

"From Your Highness’s words, it sounds like you possess a Mystical Power?"

"I do not, but the National Treasury does," the Eldest Prince replied seriously. "As long as Young Master Darius helps me ascend to the throne, I will personally give that Mystical Power to you."

Darius shook his head.

"Your Highness is not being very sincere. If you can bring this Mystical Power and allow me to see it within the next few days, I can consider your offer."

The Eldest Prince sighed in frustration.

"The Mystical Power is far too precious and is locked within the inner chambers of the National Treasury. Even I cannot enter that area. How am I supposed to bring it out for you?"

Darius quietly stored away an important piece of information: the National Treasury possessed an inner chamber.

He laughed and said, "Then at the very least, Your Highness should know what this Mystical Power does, correct?"

"Eye of Truth," the Eldest Prince replied, looking slightly guilty.
