Doris instantly looked at him with shock, her light purple eyes widening as her future sight ability gave her a clear picture of what was about to happen.
But before she could snap out of her shock and tell Jade what he was about to do, Alex made his move. He first tried to use the Void Step ability but it failed, causing him to curse under his breath.
Crap!
But he refused to give up and tried desperately. That’s when an idea suddenly hit him, he wasn’t sure if this was going to work, but he decided to try it regardless.
He calmed his mind and tried focusing on the space outside the perimeter. To his great surprise, it actually worked immediately.
With a sudden distortion of air, Alex’s body disappeared from the middle of the courtyard and instantly appeared five meters outside the estate walls.
"...Urgh." The sudden shift in space made his head spin like crazy, and he stumbled forward several steps before catching himself.
He felt a bit disoriented because this was technically his very first time using the Void Step ability, copied only just earlier today from Jade.
And unlike ordinary movement like running or walking, it felt as though his entire body had been reduced into nothing before being reconstructed elsewhere. The sensation was really incredibly strange.
To clear the dizziness still affecting him, Alex had to quickly shake his head, knowing full well that he could not afford to freeze for even a second.
Almost immediately, the air in front of him distorted violently. Then in the blink of an eye, Jade appeared right in front of him. Beside her stood Doris, one hand resting firmly on Jade’s shoulder, her purple eyes still glowing brilliantly, showing that she was still locked on to her ability.
Seeing the both of them block his path again, Alex immediately clicked his tongue and tried to use his Void Step ability again, pushing himself to the absolute maximum distance it could cover, which turned out to be about twenty five meters.
But just as he was about to vanish, Doris, who had already seen the future, quickly leaned forward and told Jade exactly where he was heading, making the space around Jade warp as she also vanished and appeared right in front of him once more, blocking his front.
What the hell! Alex couldn’t help cursing under his breath with frustration written all over his face. For the third time, he attempted another Void Step and appeared twenty five meters away.
Before relief could even settle, he saw that Jade and Doris were already standing there, waiting for him. Alex’s face twitched. This was downright frustrating!
The insane combination of Doris’s annoying future sight ability and Jade’s own Void Step ability, which of course was much stronger than his, was fast becoming a massive nuisance.
How the heck was he going to escape when every single time he managed to teleport farther away, he would also encounter the Jade and Doris duo standing right in front of him?
They were like an unavoidable wall, always matching his every trick before he could even execute it. Ah. If only they weren’t his women, he would have no qualms about using his more dangerous abilities.
Jade looked at him, her hand still crackling with faint lines of lightning, and spoke up.
"You should just give it up, Alex, and go back to the mansion. There is no other way out."
Doris immediately stepped next to her, nodding her head in agreement.
"Look Alex, please just listen to us and come back inside where it is safe."
But Alex firmly declined their requests, shaking his head as he kept his feet ready to run.
"No, it is very important that I go out right now. You both just need to trust me and let me go... I swear to you right now that I’ll be back before the day even runs out."
Doris looked conflicted, her purple eyes flickering as she was beginning to feel a bit bad for forcing him, but she shook her head firmly.
"No, Alex. We cannot do that. For the sake of all things sweet, can’t you just see that going out during this dangerous period is totally crazy? The Kade family will most definitely kill you the moment they spot you."
Jade then stepped closer, and folded her arms.
"I will not waste time arguing. Just follow us back to the house. Because I don’t see any possible way of you escaping the both of us today."
"Your teleportation ability is shorter compared to mine, and whatever move you’re planning next, Doris would have already seen it from the future before you can even think of doing it."
Alex remained silent. He couldn’t really refute her words. But still, his mind continued to race, thinking of a good and foolproof strategy to help him out of this situation.
What about if he could fight a battle of speed and movements until he completely exhausted their primordial essence reserves. After all, the more Jade and Doris use their ability the faster it’ll drain.
And even if he himself got tired and totally drained at the end of the chase, it would not really matter, because all he would just have to do is easily open his Desire store mid run and buy a portion of body recovery water to instantly bring his stamina and energy back to one hundred percent.
They did not have a healer, or a system to refill their energy, so he could just wear them down.
Just then, another clever idea came to his mind. What if he also used the destructive ability he had just copied from Annie to force them to evade instead of pursuing?
If he fired one close to them, it would definitely force Jade to teleport both herself and Doris far away just to dodge the blast radius. That would give him the small window of time he needed to at the very least, finally break free.
Just as the idea was still forming in his mind, Jade suddenly made a move.
She shot toward him with a lightning fast strike. Luckily, Alex twisted sideways just in time, making her kick narrowly graze past his shoulder.
Just before he could even think of landing a counter, a petite figure moving with incredible speed, rushed to his flank, and landed an unexpected punch right against his ribs.
Though she had controlled her power so as not to hurt him seriously, the force was still strong enough to send him flying five meters away through the air like a broken ragdoll.
Despite the pain, a grin slowly spread across his face as he flew backward. This was all too perfect. Right when he was about to land on the dirt, he used his Void Step ability to vanish, appearing twenty five meters away from his original position, making the distance between him and the women a decent thirty meters.
Seeing him reappear so far away, Doris quickly reached out to put her hand on Jade’s shoulder so that they could teleport together and block him again.
But the moment her fingers touched Jade’s clothes, her light purple eyes suddenly went wide with shock. The brief future she saw made her scream out.
"Jade, teleport now! Teleport as far as possible away from here!"
Trusting the woman that she had come to see as a friend, completely, Jade did not hesitate for a second.
She grabbed Doris and immediately disappeared from the spot just as a small, highly compressed ball of red ominous energy launched directly from Alex’s palm toward the ground where they had been standing just seconds ago.
He knew they were surely going to easily escape the attack because his plan was never to kill or hurt them in the first place. After all, they were his women, and this was just a means to make them back off.
Not bothering to look behind him to check the damage, Alex continuously spammed his Void Step ability almost three times, back to back, blinking across the area before continuing to run as fast as his legs could carry him.
BOOOM!!
At that exact moment, a small but violent explosion covering a fifteen meter radius rang out behind him. The crimson Supernova created a massive wave of both shockwaves and intense heat that turned anything and everything within it’s vicinity to ashes. The scene was as beautiful as it was terrifying.
The loud noise shook the air, but Alex was already far ahead. He continued running as fast as he could go, but several seconds later, he casually turned back to see how much progress he had made.
But what he saw made his face turn a bit pale and a cold bead of sweat to instantly appear on his forehead.
