Chapter 80: In The Mines of Velmoira. Part-3.
Just when Xinran was feeling smug, a massive arrow, almost the size of a two-story house, came flying towards the duo with speed that could put missiles to shame!

Like pulling a window’s curtain, Zephyr waved his arm lightly and made the space-time fabric bend towards the left effortlessly!
*BOOOOOM!!!!!*
The gigantic arrow got forcefully redirected towards the left and smashed a massive crater in the ground, causing the entire cave to rumble from the explosion!
To Zephyr’s surprise, just as he dealt with the first arrow, another came flying, and this time the arrow was actually invisible to the naked eye!
Zephyr barely managed to react with his powerful intuition and hurried to take a step forward to shield Xinran behind him!
*BAAAAMMMMM!!!!*
The arrow hit Zephyr straight in the center of his chest and crumbled apart on impact; the powerful force of the impact caused the broken pieces of the arrow to fly away in several directions at insanely high speed!
"Tch! That hurt!"
An annoyed look appeared on Zephyr’s face as he noticed that his armor was damaged to some extent and a small scratch had appeared on his wide chest muscles.
"D*mn, the archer is too powerful! To think they managed to put a dent on me!? How terrifying!"

Hearing Zephyr’s words of exclamation, Xinran looked at him with strange expression and spoke,
"No matter how we look at it, you are more terrifying, right? That little scratch on your chest recovered instantly!!"
"Tell me honestly, did your mother feed you milk made by ’N*kia’ company or what!?"
Ignoring Xinran’s words, Zephyr narrowed his eyes and stared in the direction of the attacker.
Unfortunately, Zephyr could not find or sense the attacker at all!
Although it was dark inside this mining tunnel, with mana and his unique physique, it was easy for him to clearly see everything in a thousand meters of area, and Xinran’s illumination spell also increased visibility tremendously!
Yet, Zephyr could not see the attacker!
"The other party is invisible? Does invisibility magic exist?"
Hearing Zephyr’s question, Xinran also frowned a bit and replied in a calm voice.
"Invisibility magic is nothing but using light magic to refract light from your body and making it impossible for others to see you..."
"Eyes use the reflection of light and light elementals in the surroundings to see; if you interfere with these light elementals using magic, you can effectively become invisible to others despite standing right in front of them."
Saying those words, Xinran’s frown deepened even more.
"I can’t sense any movements in the elementals at all; the other party is not using magic or any magic skills. They are actually invisible to the naked eye."
"How odd, I can’t even sense them with mana detection... This is the first time I have encountered something like this in the mines..."
"I have been here many times before but I never met such a bizzare enemy..."
Just when Xinran was trying to make sense of the situation, Zephyr’s intuition reacted again, and he immediately grabbed Xinran’s slender arm to pull her towards himself!

*BAAAMMMMMM!!!!*
A massive arrow came flying and landed on the spot where Xinran was standing, creating a gigantic crater.
Moreover, this arrow only became visible after it had hit the targeted location! If not for the fact that Zephyr had reacted on time because of his powerful intuition, it would have hit Xinran in the heat directly!
"The other party is quite clever; they are targeting the mage relentlessly, completely ignoring a meat shield tank like me as if I don’t even exist anymore... this is quite infuriating."
This was the first time Zephyr had ever encountered an invisible enemy, and despite using wind or space affinities, Zephyr couldn’t seem to grasp the other party’s correct location.
’The direction from which these arrows are being fired is changing every time, and the angle is always different. The party is constantly on the move.’
Just when Zephyr was busy thinking about the problem, he suddenly felt a rude hand slipping into his shirt and touching his muscular abs dishonestly, causing him to see Xinran staring at his body with a look that seemed to resemble a hungry wolf!
"Ahem, can you be a bit more serious when we are in battle?"
Only when Zephyr called out to her did Xinran snap out of her daze and reluctantly retracted her dishonest hands.
"Cough, cough, it’s all your fault! You were the one who pulled me towards yourself, causing me to fall onto your chest!"
"Hmph! It’s all your fault for having such an attractive body! Walking around with such a body in broad daylight, you are basically asking for it!"
Hearing those words, Zephyr felt like his worldview had been shattered.
’D*mn! Isn’t that something those third-rate street thugs say in movies and dramas when trying to harass a young maiden?’
’But how come it’s me being harassed here instead? Are all women of the Jauregia Empire so bold or is there something wrong with Xinran’s brain?’
As if noticing Zephyr’s strange gaze, Xinran coughed in embarrassment and changed the topic.
"Let’s take care of the enemy first; there’s no time to dilly-dally on talking."

At those words, Zephyr almost wanted to protest back with a shout, saying,
’It was obviously you who were dilly-dallying and doing dishonest things to me just now!’
Suppressing his emotions, Zephyr focused his mind on the wind and space affinities of his spoke.
"Can you cast a powerful defensive barrier? I can try to use my instincts to sense the other party’s location if I focus on it fully, but during that time I will not be able to move."
Hearing Zephyr’s words, Xinran shook her head and spoke,
"No need, I think I already know what’s going on with this enemy."
Before Zephyr could ask anything, Xinran suddenly summoned a grimoire from her space ring.
*HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEKEKEKEKEKEKE~~~~*
The moment that grimoire appeared in the outside world, a chill ran down Zephyr’s spine as he felt the entire flow of mana in the tunnel warp and shift.
A laughter filled with madness and craziness rang out from the grimoire as if it floated beside Xinran.
Just the aura of that grimoire was so overwhelming and eerie that Zephyr’s intuition started screaming at him to get away from that horrific artifact at all costs!
