Chapter 140: Depose Mira Yang
Mira did not get the chance to process that.
The sound of footsteps resounded heavily in the air and diverted both her and Hye Yang’s attention to where it came from.
"The Ruling Oracle is ready to see you." The man who approached them said. It was the same warrior leader who met Mira at Ming Tao’s home with his men.
Mira felt saliva run down her throat as she gulped. She did not want to face the ruling oracle. She had never had to meet them before but from the rumours that circulated amongst the beast people, they were fearful members.
[ First time for everything, host! ] System chimed.
It was now Mira realised that system had been quiet for way too long. System gave her no tasks nor did system bug her about a lot of things, she did not know if she should worry or be happy she’s safe.
[ The worry should come afterwards. ] System responded.
"Thank you, great warrior. We shall make our way there." Hye Yang said. The smile she had on her face was way too confident and pure. Anyone seeing her would not know that she was actually an evil witch with evil intentions and thoughts.
Mira needed to expose that woman sooner and be free from her lies once and for all. Maybe this was her chance to do so.
The warrior walked ahead of them and Mira and Hye Yang followed suit.
Hye Yang walked in front of Mira, not wanting to be by her sister’s side and Mira could not care less about that.
She was worried.
"We’re here. I will leave you two to go in." The warrior said.
"Thank you." Hye Yang spat before Mira could say a word.
Mira looked from her sister to the warrior then let a smile rest on her lips. "Your hard work is truly appreciated. I am honoured to have you carry out your duty even though it is inconvenient. Thank you, great warrior." Mira stated.
Hye Yang folded her hands across her chest then rolled her eyes. Say thank you and be done with it, what was all that small talk?! Hye Yang barked in her mind.
Mira noticed the contempt look on her sister’s face and could not help but grin. That girl lacked manners and sure hated to not be the one having many words.
"Please, it is my responsibility." The warrior said. He had a smile purse his lips and Mira knew he welcomed her gratitude.
Now he stepped aside to let them pass through a small opening in the already dark cave. As they walked through, Mira could not help but let her eyes wander around the cave.
It was laced with crystals on every side of the wall. It looked like this cave once served as a volcano that favoured tons of diamonds and crystals that shined and served as illumination. It looked beautiful.
"Don’t take any step further." Blurred loudly into Mira’s ears. She felt her body shiver in response.
There was a large space between them and Mira knew there were other people present in this room. The air was choking and tense.
The Ruling Oracle. Their faces were not revealed to either of them, each of them had cloaks that hung on their heads and covered their face to their torso. They were all situated behind a rock which served as a long, crescent shaped table and not even their skin was revealed. It was covered in what looked like sacred fur so it was hard to distinguish which animal was which.
These people hid their identities from the masses and it was one of the things that was scary about them.
"Reveal yourselves." Shot through the air like a powerful, human voiced thunder.
Hye Yang bowed. "I am Hye Yang. Second daughter of the chief of the fox family."
Mira followed her sister. "I am Mira Yang. First born daughter and true born of my father and mother in the fox clan allocated to us within the beast world jurisdiction. Wife of all five ruling beasts in the kingdom and the mother of the tribe of the lion clan. I am also with child for the mighty cheetah.
It is with great pleasure I make my presence known to you during such an unexpected visit." Mira bowed.
[ Ha! Take that you two faced coin hater! ] system chimed.
[ What a show off you are, host! System approves! ]
Mira held herself from laughing aloud at system’s words. She just bit her lower him to contain her laughter and grinned slightly. Even from here, she could feel her sister’s hate.
"A pregnant beast should not bow for so long. Please, rise and make yourself comfortable on anywhere of your choice." Echoed in the cave room.
Mira was already getting special treatment. That must make her sister want to rip her eyes out of her socket.
"Thank you for your kind gesture, but I want to stand in the face of the Ruling Oracle. I do not want to sit when you are sat." Mira said. She did not know what was going to happen so her best bet was to captivate them with a sweet tongue.
"As you wish. But do not hesistate to sit if need be."
"Thank you for your kindness. Your subject will heed." Mira worded.
Now there was a long silence. No one spoke and no one moved. It made Mira feel all the more frantic, she was unsure of what would happen next and feared it.
"Please," broke the silence and thick tension in the cave room. "Present your case."
Mira’s brows furrowed. Case? What case?
Hye Yang stepped forward. "My Ruling Oracle, it is no secret that for many years my sister had terrorised people of the clan and done a lot of hideous things."
That was a lie. Mira wanted to interrupt and call Hye Yang on her bullshit but now was not the time and that would not do her any good.
As far as everyone in the beast world was concerned, Mira Yang was the demon. She was the face of every terrible things. Mira’s fist clenched.
"It is also no surprise that this title ’demon of the forest’ was derived out of her wickedness and harshness with ruling the people in her care and beyond.
Mira Yang failed to do her duty and kept the ruling clans from carrying heirs that will rule the world to a fruitful age.
She also not only denied the mighty clan rulers the opportunity to have their own true borns but tortured and played with their hearts all for her selfish desires while chasing after a beast man that was not bonded to her and that did not want anything to do with her."
The more Hye Yang spoke, the more Mira felt like this was a losing game. The woman did not even wait before discrediting her before the Ruling Oracle and this made Mira glad that she added that she was pregnant for Ming Tao and had given birth for Jia Hao.
At least, that should prove that there was some change in her behaviour from her past.
Hye Yang stopped speaking. She looked at her sister and ran her eyes through Mira’s body. She saw no marks on her skin. There was nothing on Mira’s skin to prove that she had been involved with Mu Yang sexually so Hye Yang discarded that fact.
"So what do you suggest we do with this information that you have given to us?" One of the members asked.
It was obvious that Hye Yang wanted something but she had not yet said what it was.
Hye Yang sighed. "My sister’s actions have not only hurt the people the beast world, our fellow brothers and sisters and children and family, but the future of the clan.
It has hurt me so much, knowing that I am her sister and I could not do anything to stop her actions even though I tried."
Mira almost bursted out laughing. She wanted to applaud her sister for this dramatic performance. There was no way in hell this woman was not an actress. She was so good at being bad and so good at lying that it must be second nature to her.
"So I have come here today to let the Ruling Oracle know something.
I too came from the same descent of my sister who failed to fulfil her duties. I have a different father but our mother is the same. And I too am a true born worthy enough to bear cubs for the ruling leaders of the clan.
I have a record of being good and doing all I can to aid the people with all my might and provision and I always fulfil my duty."
Hye Yang’s words made Mira’s head pang with a headache. She finally understood what it was her sister wanted to do.
Mira’s eyes widened. She had never felt more terrified in her entire life until now.
"And I will devote myself into uplifting the people and the clan with all my might and heart." Hye Yang added. "I am also in line following my sister. I understand you are busy with other matters so I will not keep you waiting.
I have come here to request your order for the deposal of Mira Yang as the wife and mate of the Rulers of the for bad conduct throughout her entire reign."
