Chapter 367: Eight Enchantment
’A total of eight enchantments... man, this can really be my ticket to overpowerness.’ Thinking this, Dhruv clicked on the first enchantment of the crown.
[Sovereign Will: The wearer can command respect and obedience from all those around them. The level and duration of obedience depend on the target’s resistance to the crown’s influence.]
’Huh! Command respect and obedience... isn’t this matching the spells from the authority? Does this mean that one of the gems of the crown belongs to a monster with authority...’
’...Man, What the fuck was that Dwarf... was he really just a simple blacksmith? I don’t think so...’ Imagining how powerful the dwarf must have been, Dhruv moved to the second enchantment.
[Sea’s Embrace: Creates a protective shield of water that absorbs significant physical and magical damage. This protective bubble can simply negate spells of Tiers VI and below.]
Reading the last part of the description, Dhruv couldn’t help but rub his eyes.
’An active type enchantment that can straight up negate spells of Tier VI... man, this shit is crazy...’ Impressed by the enchantment, he didn’t know what to say.
Dhruv somewhat felt this ability balanced considering it didn’t negate the physical attacks. Still impressed he moved to the third enchantment.
[Eden’s Breath: The wearer benefits from passive healing that can heal anything over time. Additionally, they can activate a powerful healing mode to restore themselves or someone else from the brink of death. There is a cooldown of one day before it can be used again.]
’...’ At this point, Dhruv didn’t even know what to say. These enchantments... they felt like straight-up cheats.
’Forgetting about the active that can literally bring any form from death’s door once every day. There is even a passive ability that can heal from any wound given enough time.’
Not knowing what to expect anymore, Dhruv clicked on the next enchantment.
[Elemental Sovereignty: Enhances the wearer’s control over all elements and concepts, significantly boosting their magical prowess and allowing for more precise and potent spellcasting.]
’Huh! At least one of them is somewhat normal,’ he thought, reading the description.
Passively increasing the power of elements and concepts is good, but it was nowhere near the level of the other three.
Taking a breath, Dhruv moved to the next one.
[Judicial Radiance: Summons a pillar of light that can restrict the movement and remove the magical and physical abilities of beings below Tier VII for a few seconds.
The pillar then judges the target, further increasing the wearer’s ability to damage based on the target’s actions. Can only be used twice a day.]
’Did the dwarf put a simple one in the middle so he could add another outrageous enchantment like this... sigh, I’m at a loss for words...’ Dhruv thought, looking at the enchantment.
As he read the description of Judicial Radiance, he understood something.
’Now that I think about it, this doesn’t seem that overpowered. I mean, I can restrict an opponent, but the ability will be useless if the person has done good deeds...’
’No, no, forget about that... there isn’t even a mention of whether they have to do good or bad. Well, I have to go the trial and error route then...’
Even though Dhruv made this somewhat underwhelming, he knew the potential of this ability. The most interesting part is where the light would restrict the movement while disabling the physical and magical abilities.
Since there isn’t a mention that he can’t attack them during this time frame, he was thinking of bombarding the opponent between the judging and result period.
’Yes, that will work...’ Smiling, he moved to the next enchantment.
[Dark Rampage: The wearer can enter a berserk mode, drawing strength from the darkness. The deeper they are consumed by the darkness, the greater their strength and ferocity in battle. While in berserk mode, they can use spells of the darkness element as well.]
’Hmm!... my strength will increase depending on how lost I get... I guess we will never know the power of this enchantment then,’ Dhruv shook his head, knowing he wouldn’t use an ability that would make him go mad.
He didn’t want to lose whatever two brain cells he had.
’Although I won’t be using it... what will be the highest tier darkness spells I can use... no, no Dhruv, don’t be curious... remember, curiosity killed the cat.’ warning himself he quickly moved to the second-to-last ability.
[Cosmic Resonance: Enhances the wearer’s connection to the cosmos, granting a passive increase in experience gain to skills, exp gain from monster kills, better core absorption, and higher coin gain upon killing monsters.]
’Now this is too much... just too much. Man, what the fuck. Can one even do this? Cosmos, how is this even allowed, and just who did the dwarf kill to get an ability like this?’ Instead of being happy, a frown appeared on his face.
The rewards are too good to be true... yet they are.
Nobody was pranking him, and the crown was as real as can be.
’I just can’t... at this point, I’m speechless.’ Closing the description, Dhruv looked at the last enchantment.
’Seven enchantments for seven gems... then what is this eighth enchantment for...’ Thinking this, Dhruv clicked on it.
[Burden of Power: Seeing a close one die from the power his creation had brought, the dwarf was deeply troubled. Using the fallen warrior’s core, he added another enchantment to the crown.
Unwilling to choose another bearer, he had left the crown back into space, leaving its fate to chance.
The crown’s true power will remain dormant until it acknowledges a worthy wearer.]
’Flew too close to the sun and died. So... challenging a god was never a good idea...’ Dhruv thought, finally getting his answer.
Although the enchantments were good, they were nowhere near something that could help one defeat a god. Forget about a god; Dhruv wasn’t even confident about fighting Tier IX beings... which, ironically, the crown was made of.
’It makes sense...’ Sighing, Dhruv closed the status and looked at the crown before putting it in the inventory.
"Finally an offensive weapon..." he whispered, looking at the second item...
A staff.
