Chapter 219: Lonely

"Master... Master..." Dhruv heard someone’s voice as he tried to open his eyes. With still half-closed eyes, he saw the silhouette of someone standing in front of him. Knowing who he was, he replied,

"What happened, Alaric?"

"Master, the feast has been ready... everybody is waiting for you," Alaric replied without any change in his expression.

"O-ohh coming... give me five minutes..." Replying to this, Dhruv quickly got out of bed and began to move toward the bathroom to freshen up.

Seeing that the message had been passed, Alaric dived into one of the shadows and appeared in the area where the feast had been happening.

"Master is coming... it would take him another five minutes to freshen up," Alaric replied as he looked at the people in front of him.

"What is on the menu today," Alaric asked as he looked toward Lyra.

"I don’t have a clue. You should ask Mohit about this.." Lyra replied as she signaled toward a man who held the class [Wild Chef].

Nodding, Alaric dived in the shadow and appeared in front of Mohit. Looking in his eyes he asked the question directly, "Mohit, what is on the menu today?"

"Uhmm! On the occasion of announcing the fourth guardian, I have created some special items, especially for his lord and all the fourth guardians." Saying these words, Mohit began to walk toward the area where the food has been stored.

"These are... Honey-Glazed Waterlily Roots, Feywild Boar, Enchanted Berries, Faerie Ring Mushroom Risotto, and some more," Mohit began to patiently explain what these foods were called and what ingredients were used to cook them.

After talking with this interesting man Alaric began to understand how his class works.

’So his class gave him the advantage of mixing all types of ingredients while cooking. There is a very small chance of getting some minor buff while eating as well.’ Alaric thought as he inspected all the items personally.

"Impressive... try to evolve as soon as possible so you can cook food with a 100 percent possibility of giving a buff," Alric suggested.

"I’m trying my hardest, but there just isn’t that much opportunity to cook food," Mohit explained.

Because the [Wild Chef] isn’t a battle-related class, Mohit gets most of his experience through cooking food. Even though he is handling the food for all the people on the island, it still isn’t enough.

This inefficiency has led him to create all these weird food items.

"I understand... I will try to get you many exotic items so you can evolve as soon as possible," Alaric answered as he looked toward Vexar.

Instead of waiting for an answer he dived in the shadow and appeared in front of Vexar. Without a second thought, he asks a question, "Vexar, how far have you come in your levels?"

Knowing that the demon in front of him had killed most of the tier 3 in the dungeon, Alaric was quite excited to know when he would evolve.

"Wait, let me check... Uhmmm! here it says 29," Vexar answered while looking at his status.

’He should reach the level required to evolve during his hunt in the spider dungeon...’ Thinking this, Alaric asked the second question, "What about the core percentage?"

"It is at 20%," Vexar answered.

"Remember not to evolve before reaching 100%, okay?" Alaric requested with a concerned face.

"Hmmm!" Nodding his head, the demon began to talk with Grec. Apparently, both of them are getting along very well.

Turning toward Azarex, Alaric sighed, "You know what to do in the dungeon, right?"

Understanding what Alaric was suggesting, Azarex answered with a dull face, "I know."

"I know it isn’t exciting to take care of Vexar, but it isn’t that bad either... right?" Alaric asked as he found that something was wrong with the death lord.

Not knowing how to answer this question, Azarex looked into Alaric’s eyes and asked, "Alaric, do you think I’m doing something wrong?"

"..." Confusion began to shroud him as Alaric couldn’t understand what Azarex meant by this.

"Cough!! What are you talking about... you are so perfect that ’wrong’ and you don’t exist in a single sentence," Alaric answered this from the bottom of his core.

With trembling lips, Azarex spoke once again, "It probably is my imagination, but I think Master is ignoring me."

"Huhh!.." Alaric blurted out. After a moment of silence, he had a slight understanding of where this emotion of his might be coming from. Even after having a clue, Alaric decided to ask nonetheless.

"Why would you think like this?"

Before Azarex could answer anything, he saw that his master was coming in their direction. Turning toward Alaric, he opened his mouth with a smile on his face, "Ohhh! It’s nothing... as I’d just said, it probably is my imagination."

Saying these words, he didn’t even wait to hear Alaric’s reply and began to move toward his golem. Standing beside his dear golem Azarex began to observe everything.

"How are you guys... Are you ready for the feast?" Dhruv asked excitedly as he looked at everyone in front of him.

"As ready as one can get, Master," Vexar and Grec replied at the same time, coincidently they muttered the thing.

"Excited as well, Master," Alaric replied with a smile on his face.

Azarex and others simply nodded and began to move toward the area where the food was going to be served. Sitting in their respective seats, everyone began to wait for the food to come.

As usual, Dhruv and his four guardians had sat on the high ground. Seeing that the chef had adorned the area with his food, Dhruv stood up and cheered, "Let the party begin..." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Let it begin..."

"Thank you for the feast..."

"Thank you, Mohit..."

"Thank you, Mohit..."

"Thank you, Mohit..."

Waves of cheers erupted as everyone began to thank Mohit for all this delicious food. While everyone was busy eating their food, someone was carefully observing one particular individual.

’I guess I have to talk with Master...’ Alaric thought as he finished his meal.
