Chapter 196: Into The Spider Dungeon
An hour earlier,
"So, how are you planning to follow the lord’s orders?" Priestess asked while looking at the sky... of course, the problem was that she couldn’t see the beauty of the blue sky and the countless clouds within it.
Listening to the priestess’s question, Thala didn’t immediately answer and instead began to think about it. While guiding Lyra toward her house, he finally opened his mouth.
"I’m waiting for Navi to create the list of people who were going to be hunting in the slime farm first. When that is decided, I will pick the people who weren’t on that list, create four or five teams..." he pauses to think for a bit.
"I think four or five teams would be enough... it’s not like we were going too deep anyway," Thala answered while facing Lyra.
Noticing that she was looking at the sky, Thala also lifted his head to see it.
’There is nothing special about it... yet it is beautiful...’ a thought appeared in his head.
"I think, I should come with you guys as well. My level has been stagnated for a while, and I need to evolve as soon as possible to start that thing," Priestess muttered these words.
Listening to this, Thala stopped immediately, causing the priestess to bump into him.
"Sorry..." He first apologized for the rudeness. After taking a deep breath, he continues once again.
"Sorry, priestess, but I don’t think you should come with us. Of course, this isn’t because because of your disability or something like... sorry.?" After saying these things Thala quickly apologized as well, as this could sound inappropriate.
"You shouldn’t apologize after saying something that is true," Lyra replied with a smile on her face.
"Uhhmm! I’m saying this because you aren’t cut out for fighting. After going into battle, you would only harm yourself. And on top of that, you have to lead the sweeper groups as well to harvest the resources from the second floor," Thala explained his reasoning for declining her request to come with them.
One thing to note here was that Thala hadn’t asked anything about what she was trying to start. He hadn’t asked because he knew that after getting the prophet’s exclusive ability, she often talked like this, and when questioned about it, she would just say... ’the time hasn’t come.’
She had always been cryptic about everything she saw in her dreams.
"I know that...it’s just I want to be on the front line as well," Lyra answered while appearing quite somewhat sad.
If Dhruv were to be here he was sure going to be surprised after seeing this after all Lyra only shows this much emotion in front of very few people. Thala and the old elder lady were top in this list.
Listening to her reply, Thala knew that this was going to bore no result, so he just changed the subject.
"So, priestess, why was his lord Vexar accompanying you?" Thala asked this question. He was quite surprised when Vexar approached him last night and told her that he was going to accompany her from now on.
Knowing the youngest guardian’s behavior, Thala was quite resistant at first, but he had to give up when Lyra said it was how everything was supposed to be. After listening to this, he had to transfer his duty.
"I don’t know the full picture, but Lord Vexar had told me that it was Lord Alaric’s order..." Lyra answered. Even though she knew the reason, she didn’t think it was right to disclose all of them.
"Ohhh! I thought it was his majesty’s order..." Thala was quite surprised that it was actually Alaric’s order.
After walking for a while, they were able to reach Lyra’s house quickly; the old elder was there to receive her. Dropping her there, Thala began to walk toward Navi.
After going from one place to another and doing it multiple times; Thala was finally able to find Navi, who was busy making some sort of blueprint on the paper.
The paper he was using was something that was made on the island with the help of grasses that were found in the dungeon. The ink was a byproduct of a monster found in the spider dungeon.
"What are you making, Navi?" Thala asked as he looked at the blueprint in front of him full of curiosity.
"Ohhh! This... this is a blueprint of a machine that could be used to turn wood into planks with little to no human strength," Navi explained.
"Can we do that..." Thala asked with a surprised look on his face.
"Apparently, we can... Ayush was the one who gave me the idea for this machine. You must have heard it already and they are indeed true... there are multiple machines that could already..." Before Navi could finish what, he was saying Thala interrupted.
"Yes.. Yes, I understand..." Thala quickly agreed. He knew that if he gave him time, the man in front of him could continue to babble about all these mechanical things nonstop.
"Why are you here again, Thala?" Navi asked while looking at the blueprint in front of him.
"I’m here to tell get the list of people who are going to hunt in the farm. I want the time slots as well," Thala questioned.
"Ohhh! I think today you guys are going to hunt in the dungeon." Navi asked a question of his own.
"Yes, we are going to do that, but what does that have to do with you making the list..." Thala asked while raising one of his eyebrows.
"In the list, I was planning to make one shift last two hours, and because most of the people on the island today will be busy, I decided not to make the list," Navi answered as he focused on the blueprint once again.
"I think you are right... Never mind them. Please remember to make the list as soon as possible." Thala said his goodbye and began to move toward the section where the houses were.
It took him another hour to gather all the members. The people who were fortunate enough to be in the team were...
Thala and all the former bodyguards. All four teams that were created on the first floor of the goblin dungeon and another ten people who were eager to fight.
In total, there were around 45 people who were going to raid the spider dungeon.
Looking at the portal in front of him, Thala announces,
"Let’s gooo..."
