Chapter 195: Greedy Boss

While Dhruv was still trying to figure out what type of magic his opponent was trying to use but before he could find anything, the monster in front of him cast the spell.

Woooosh!!!

With a weird shriek sound, a long streak of violet beams shot forth from goblin’s right hand. Because he was already expecting something like this, Dhruv was barely able to dodge the attack after using [Tempest Charge].

’What was that, I didn’t even see it clearly.’ Dhruv thought. He was sure even the tempest charge wouldn’t have saved him if his agility wasn’t this high.

Dhruv had kept his focus on the goblin, and that’s why he wasn’t able to see the damage done by that spell.

But anyone who would get a chance to see it wouldn’t want to be on the receiving side of it... after all, everything in the spell’s path was reduced to nothing.

"Tempest Charge."

Without giving the monster a chance to cast one of those spells again, Dhruv charged toward him. The monster had learned his lesson and before Dhruv reached him, he quickly jumped backward, increasing the distance between them once again.

"Shit..." Cursing under his breath, Dhruv put his spear in the ring and began to ready his spell. This time he wasn’t going to enhance the spell. After two seconds of manipulating mana, he cast the spell, Serrated Blade.

Looking at the flying blades in front of him, the monster casts one of his spells as well. The moment he cast the spell a ripple of violet waves formed around the blades, slowing them considerably.

The monster didn’t rely on the violet wave to finish the job and instantly cast a barrage of rock to destroy the blades. As the metal clashed against the rock, Dhruv finally found the opportunity to close the gap.

While sprinting toward the goblin, Dhruv whispered ’retrieve’ while sending some of his mana towards the Collector’s Ring. In just a single second, the crimson spear materialized in his hand once again.

With expert spearman ship, he lunged at the goblin, his spear aimed for a swift strike. Even with one of his arms decapitated, the goblin, however, was not to be underestimated.

With surprising agility, he sidestepped Dhruv’s attack and retaliated with a powerful blow from his rocky fists—infused with rock. Dhruv staggered backward but quickly regained his footing and cast [Tempest Charge] once again.

His legs turned blur as Dhruv lunged forward, spear slicing through the air, aimed at Goblin’s midsection. The Goblin once again shows his superior might by deftly sidestepping the attack, the ground trembling beneath his heavy steps.

In retaliation to his attack, Goblin unleashed a barrage of jagged rocks from his outstretched hands. Dhruv quickly created a dome above his head to hide from the attack.

When the rain of the jagged rock ended Dhruv emerged from the protective dome.

"Fuckkk.." Dhruv cursed as he found that the monster was already preparing for his next assault.

This time Dhruv didn’t do anything unnecessary and instead observed the goblin with a wary gaze. He had seen the devastating power of the violet beams and the proficiency with which the monster handled rock magic.

And that’s why he didn’t want to make any mistakes. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he prepared for the next onslaught. The goblin, sensing Dhruv’s wariness, grinned maliciously and began to chant an incantation.

This time, instead of aiming directly at Dhruv, the goblin directed his mana towards the ground beneath them. The earth rumbled as rocks and boulders rose from the ground, forming a makeshift barrier between them.

’He isn’t attacking directly there isn’t any point in giving him time to finish what he is doing..’ thoughts afterthought appeared in his mind, as Dhruv began to think quickly.

Looking at the wall of the earth which was slowly encompassing them, Dhruv summoned a metal arrow. Using multiply multiple times, Dhruv fired all of them to the nearby rocks into a series of sharp, metallic spikes.

Due to he had used multiple the precision of the projectile wasn’t in his control. Hiding behind the rain of metal arrows Dhruv began to fire metal spears toward the goblin who was advancing behind his rocky shield.

Dhruv hurled the metallic projectiles with precision, aiming for the gaps between the rocks. Focusing on the metal arrow the monster, caught off guard by the sudden attack of the spear.

Even then the spear was only able to graze the goblin’s arm, drawing a spray of green blood. Seizing the opportunity, Dhruv charged forward with renewed determination, his crimson spear gleaming in the dim light.

The goblin, now on the defensive, attempted to retaliate with a swift rock-enhanced punch, but Dhruv sidestepped the blow with practiced agility.

As the two adversaries clashed, each maneuvering with a deadly dance of magic and physical prowess, Dhruv finally decided to use one of the illusion spells that he hadn’t used yet.

He had been saving it for the opportune moment, and now seemed like the perfect time to employ his tricky skills.

With a swift incantation and a subtle wave of his hand, Dhruv cast the illusion spell. Suddenly, his body glitched from the reality.

From that glitching body of his, multiple illusions of Dhruv appeared and surrounded the goblin, creating confusion and disorientation. The goblin, momentarily perplexed, swung wildly at the illusions, unsure of which Dhruv was the real one.

Seizing the advantage, Dhruv who was on the far right of him moved with unparalleled speed, exploiting the goblin’s momentary vulnerability. His crimson spear danced through the air, finding its mark with precision.

The illusions vanished as the real Dhruv delivered a final, decisive blow to the head of the goblin. The monster tried to over the head with the rocky armor but he was just one second lead.

The entire left part of his face got obliterated as the goblin stumbled backward, its form shimmering as if reality itself was warping.

"!@^@ &$^%....." The monster tried to say something in its weird language while looking at Dhruv’s arm. Before Dhruv could focus on it the sound of the voice dimmed... and them finally it went silent.

As the adrenaline began to subside, Dhruv felt the weight of his exhaustion. He leaned on his spear, catching his breath, and gazed at the defeated goblin...

’Wait where is the notifica....’Before he could worry over this a notification appeared in front of him.
