Chapter 26: Entering the Flameheart City

Although her face was hidden beneath the veil, none doubted that she would be a terrifying beauty. Her graceful posture, elegant movements and body language just ooze charm and beauty.

She appeared to be about five feet six inches tall with a sexy body. Her long blonde hair flowed behind her, contrasting beautifully against her fair skin.

Although she had a figure that would turn him on. But at that moment, Max wasn’t just looking at her figure; he felt her blood flow, which appeared to be that of a normal person, and yet he felt she wasn’t ordinary.

The feeling was so weird and new that he couldn’t even express or understand what it was, but she was definitely not an ordinary person.

"Thank you for your assistance, gentlemen." She came forward and thanked the trio. Her voice was gentle and pleasant to the ears.

Before anyone else could speak, the caravan’s only Bloodline Awakener—a young man named Jared in his early twenties—quickly moved to her side.

"Why did you come out, Lady Mia?" He asked with concern.

He instinctively positioned himself between her and the newcomers, acting like a loyal guard. His gaze then settled on Max, Andrew, and Mathew.

His expression wasn’t hostile, nor was it friendly. It was calm and cold as he tried to figure out the trio.

Especially Max, as he was the one who shot down many beasts. His blood bullets’ power was extraordinary, meaning his potential might be very high.

All of the mercenaries and people from the caravan also looked at the three with interest, wanting to know where they came from.

The trio didn’t care about everyone’s eyes on them as Andrew quickly said with urgency.

"A fully developed beast tide is heading this way."

"We have to leave immediately."

"Run to Flameheart City as fast as possible!"

The moment those words left his mouth... everyone’s expression changed.

Until now, they had assumed the appearance of so many beasts was merely the result of some stronger monsters expanding their territories, forcing weaker beasts to flee.

But a beast tide? That was an entirely different matter.

Panic immediately spread through the caravan. If Andrew was telling the truth... Then they had only one choice.

Reach Flameheart City before the beast tide swallowed them whole.

"Are you sure?" Jared asked, his expression changing from cold to grave.

Andrew nodded, and then no words were needed, and quickly everyone in the caravan started to move.

The mercenaries quickly climbed onto the wagons. The drivers grabbed the reins as there was no time to waste.

"My lady, we have to go," Jared said with a grave expression. Lady Mia gave a small nod before quietly stepping back inside.

"Move!"

Jared cracked the reins. The horses neighed loudly before charging down the road at full speed.

Max, Andrew and Mathew also climbed on one of the wagons. Within moments, the entire caravan raced toward Flameheart City as fast as the horses could carry them.

Max from the wagon continued to clear the way by using Blood bullets continuously. In their way were quite a number of beasts that tried to stop them, but every time Max would clear the way for them.

Whether it was people from the caravan or even Andrew and Mathew, who knew him the most, couldn’t help but marvel at his never-ending stamina. He continuously fired at least hundreds of shots, yet he was able to continue to go on.

Finally... After what felt like an eternity...

A massive city appeared on the horizon.

Flameheart City.

Relief instantly spread through the entire caravan. Many people even sighed aloud. Their tense hearts finally relaxed slightly as the number of beasts along the way was increasing with every moment.

If before they might have had some doubts, then they were sure the beast tide was coming. But now, seeing the Flameheart city right ahead of them, they could finally calm down a bit.

They could see signs of fighting on the road, but it was mostly cleared.

The enormous entrance gate stood still wide open, protected by towering walls over thirty meters high. Archers lined the battlements with bows already drawn, while heavily armed soldiers guarded the entrance below.

Their small caravan was also quickly noticed by the archers, and the soldiers stationed became alert. It was clear they knew that trouble was brewing within the Myriad Beast Mountains range, and the entire city was highly alert.

And the moment they arrived within the range of archers from the top of the wall, a loud voice rang.

"Stop! State your identity!"

Their caravan quickly stopped, and from one of the wagons a shrewd-looking merchant stepped forward and took out a token with a symbol of a hammer and shield.

"We are from the noble House of Mitri, and want to enter the city." He shouted clearly.

Hearing this, the soldiers atop the wall exchanged glances and looked at the person in charge.

He was a tall, six-foot-tall, middle-aged man in silver armour standing on the top of the wall looking down at the caravan with his sharp eyes.

He seemed to be a bit surprised to hear that the caravan belonged to the House of Mitri, but he quickly hid it.

Instead, his attention shifted to the token. "Go and bring that token." He then ordered.

A soldier immediately descended, collected the token from the merchant, and brought it back.

He carefully checked the token and confirmed it was real. Although surprised that the almost fallen house of Mitri came here but it wasn’t his job to know such things. He could only do his job.

"Okay, they can come."

The city gates slowly opened wider, and then the caravan quickly went through the gates and entered Flameheart City.

The moment they entered Flameheart City, everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.
