Chapter 193: Lifetime debt

Taesan’s POV

The sun is starting to set and it feels like a fucking dream.

How long have I been sitting here and staring at the calming water?

"Dad" Sooin’s soft voice calls and I look up at her.

She’s standing next to me and looking into my own bowl. Her small hands are behind her back, and her face is set in a serious scowl.

’My pup’ my alpha says and my lips curve into a small smile at the expression on her face.

She might not be mine by blood but she’s my own daughter, that little scowl is mine.

"Yes, princess?" I ask when she doesn’t speak.

"You are really bad at fishing" she says and that old troublemaker called ’grandma’ starts to laugh.

"I’m winning" she says, giving me an annoying expression and I almost give her the finger like a rebellious teenager.

She can pull out all the fish in the river and I’ll still throw my omega over my shoulder and return home.

"Dad, grandma is better than you. Grandma has plenty and plenty fish!" Sooin says and I huff.

"I’m better than her, I’m just tired" I say, muttering like a jealous lover.

’You are a jealous lover" my alpha says, and I huff, dropping the fishing rod and going to sit beside Seoha who is relaxing under a tree.

"Did you win?" the omega asks while holding back laughter, and I give him a flat look.

I spent the journey teasing him, now he is flipping the table on me.

Fucking smartass.

"Are you mocking me?" I ask him.

"No" he says.

This little thief is looking into my eyes and lying through his teeth.

I am tempted to throw him into the river but my irrational annoyance melts at how comfortable he is being with me.

Cursing under my breath, I sit on the blanket next to the omega.

I just watch how his face softens for me.

"Are you entertained by my failure?" I ask and he does something that surprises me.

He moves closer and rests his head on my shoulder, pressing his button nose into my scent patch covered gland.

"No...it just surprises me that you’re human" he murmurs his answer.

"What do you mean?" I ask, watching as Sooin cheers for grandma’s newest catch. She acts and looks comfortable here.

"How do you mean?" I ask him again, turning my attention back to my mate and the pretty collar sitting on his neck.

"I mean...you’re bad at directions, you can’t fish...you cook for me, you have a leg pain that you always forget to use your cane for" he says and I look at my leg.

Fuck...my leg.

It’s true the pain comes and goes, but the cane was mainly for a show of power. It was my weapon and shield to keep people away.

"Hmm" I hum, Seoha has broken that defense of mine.

"You are the best dad...and the best love" he says and my chest rumbles from the pleased growl I give.

My alpha is completely happy with the omega’s observations.

"And I forgot to mention...you are really really bad at games"

"Watch it" I growl, but instead of getting scared, Seoha giggles and jumps on my body, tipping us over on the blanket like little kids.

"Dad don’t hurt daddy!" Sooin scolds from the river and grandma tsks.

I ignore them because I haven’t touched my mate in hours.

Seoha’s giggle doesn’t stop as he snuggles into me, rubbing his face into my scent patch as if he’s seeking me out.

"I miss you. You were here and I still miss you" he says and I kiss the side of his head, holding him to myself tightly.

"I know, I missed you too" I respond to him honestly.

With Seoha, there is no pride, no hypocrisy...just love.

"We will be moving along" Jisu announces and I look up to see that they are already up and ready to move.

"Go ahead" I order, hugging Seoha a bit tighter.

"You’re cheating on the bet, you’re supposed to let Seoha stay with grandma" the girl says, and I flash my alpha eyes at her.

"Get lost" I snarl and she bows before running after grandma and Sooin.

I breathe out as soon as they’re gone and start to run my hand up and down Seoha’s clothed back.

"Taesan-ah" he calls in a shy voice and I hum my response.

"I thought about it...and I w-want to model for you" he stutters in that same voice and I change our position, putting him under my body.

He looks up at me as I hover over him, staring into his beautiful face with devotion.

"Don’t do something you don’t want to" I say with a rough voice.

Fuck.

I meant to say it softer, but the words come out with a bite, and Seoha doesn’t flinch.

"I want to do it...I will regret not doing it, this is my dream" he says and I study his face.

Small face, wide brown eyes that trap me like a fucking bull, small mouth that I own...

"I’ll make every dream come true. Say the words, treasure, and I will tear mountains down for you" I say and he smiles at me.

The happiness in his eyes makes me smile back at him.

What magic is he using on me?

"I just want your dreams to come true" he says and my eyes lose focus for a few second.

He’s so stupid.

I’m offering him the world on a platter, and here he is, putting me first as if I matter.

"You need to live for yourself, little deer" I tell him.

In my world, only the selfish survive. There is no time for love, no time to care...just survival.

"But you don’t live for yourself too" Seoha says and I chuckle, "that’s not true" I say in a low tone.

"You don’t, you act like you don’t care but you do. You would have had your way years ago but you think of others" he says and I shut him up with a kiss.

I have lived an isolated life from the moment my parents died.

I tried to be a beast, but I keep failing...this man is unraveling everything.

I will do anything to give him the world and life he deserves; he owes me a black card debt, but I owe him a lifetime debt.

Junho has to forgive me, but I will reach out to the Gods.
