Chapter 226: Chapter 224: Bai Su Breaks Through to Level 10

With a deafening BOOM, a massive explosion shook the very earth.

After several minutes of violent tremors, everything fell silent.

The dark clouds scattered and the lightning vanished.

The night was peaceful once more.

Li Chenlin, Yelias, and Wen Lan mobilized all their forces, rushing toward the desolate wilderness.

All they could do now was pray that after the crash, Bai Su had landed in some forest—anywhere but the Abyss.

Suddenly, an idea seemed to strike Li Chenlin, his eyes lighting up. "The bracelet!"

He ordered his subordinate to input a string of code, quickly activating the tracking function.

The subordinate searched rapidly on his smart bracelet before confirming the location. "President Li... she’s... she’s in the Endless Abyss."

At these words, everyone gasped.

Even the faces of the nearby reinforcements showed expressions of pity.

Falling into the Endless Abyss was essentially a death sentence.

The subordinate glanced fearfully at the grim-faced Li Chenlin. "So... do we still search?"

Li Chenlin roared, "Search! I want her found, dead or alive!"

Yelias’s expression was just as dark. "I’ll use my spider silk to sound the depths."

Wen Lan frowned. "The Abyss is too deep. Even for a Level 9 White Spider, your silk is nowhere near long enough to reach the bottom."

For once, Yelias lost his usual elegance, roaring uncontrollably, "But I can’t just stand by and watch Susu be in danger!"

Wen Lan said, "Both of you, calm down. We can bring in equipment and use drones to explore."

Li Chenlin’s mind was a complete mess; he was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Wen Lan’s words slowly calmed him. He quickly began directing his men to action.

’Time is of the essence. Susu could be somewhere, critically injured, waiting for me to save her. I can’t panic!’

Everyone began calling in favors, mobilizing massive teams to the wilderness.

At the fissure of the Endless Abyss, the three little ones—plus Wen Dabao, who had tagged along at some point—were already nimbly descending, clinging to the stone pillars that bridged the chasm.

Suddenly, Bai Xiaolang sensed something was off. He snapped his head up to see Wen Dabao’s lizard tail coiled around a stone pillar as she followed them down.

His pupils constricted. "Wen Dabao, what are you doing?!"

His shout startled Wen Dabao, causing her to lose her footing and plummet downward.

Her three older brothers’ hearts leaped into their throats. Bai Xiao Zhu quickly shot out a strand of spider silk, catching her and pulling her back.

The four little ones stood neatly on a stone pillar between the cliffs. From a distance, they looked as tiny as the barbs on a crab’s leg.

Still shaken, Wen Dabao patted her chest. "Big brother, why did you yell? You scared me to death!"

Bai Xiaolang’s face was grim. "Wen Dabao, go back! This is no place for you to be fooling around!"

Wen Dabao retorted, "No! You’re going to save our mom, aren’t you? I’m going too!"

Bai Xiaolang’s brows knitted together. "Do you have any idea what the Endless Abyss is? One wrong move here and you could fall to your death, smashed to pieces. And besides..."

He pursed his lips, deciding not to go on.

Countless Beastmen had ventured into the Endless Abyss seeking treasure, but none had ever returned.

No one knew what truly lay at the bottom.

Wen Dabao’s lip twitched. "Spare me the lecture."

She leaped down, completely ignoring the other three.

Bai Xiaolang watched his sister’s retreating figure, his head aching.

Ever since they were little, Wen Dabao had been a wild one. Whether she responded to reason or force depended entirely on her mood. She was impossible to handle.

Bai Xiao Zhu quickly tried to catch Wen Dabao with his silk, but she severed it easily with her sharp lizard tail.

Bai Xiaolang sighed. "Fine, let’s go. It’s better to have her where we can see her than sneaking around behind us."

Bai Xiaoshe and Bai Xiao Zhu glanced at each other. He had a point.

In the end, they all relented.

"Da Bao, wait up! We’ll go together," Bai Xiaolang called out.

At the bottom of the cliff.

A sphere of white, electric light enveloped a slender, graceful figure.

Long, silky hair, soft as a waterfall, was spread across the ground. Within the sphere of light, one could just make out slender, bare ankles and delicate, pale feet.

Bathed in the white light, her skin resembled the finest white jade, possessing a delicate, silky luster that was both translucent and beautiful.

’System, open the store and get me some clothes.’

’Damn this lightning! Was it trying to harass me? It zapped all my clothes to ash!’

The System’s voice echoed in her mind, "Don’t worry, Host. Take a look. Do you like any of these clothes?"

’Who cares if I like them at a time like this? Just give me a set, any set.’

Bai Su quickly exchanged her points for a practical set of hiking gear and put it on.

The white light gradually faded, revealing her full form.

Bai Su was so fair she seemed to glow, her beauty becoming even more surreal.

Even in simple hiking gear, her exposed skin seemed to have its own built-in spotlight, emitting a subtle, soft white glow. From a distance, she looked like a deity of the mountains, suddenly descended to the mortal realm.

System: "Congratulations, Host! You’ve broken through to Level 10!"

"Version 2.0 of the plot has been unlocked. Please check for details."

Hearing this, Bai Su’s eyes lit up. But the moment she opened the plot book, her expression went blank.

’Is your connection lagging, or is mine? Why are there no words here?’

The System replied with a metaphorical smile, "Host, the 2.0 plot exists outside the original story of *Beast World’s Beloved*. As the protagonist, you must now write the story yourself."

Bai Su: "I have to write the plot?"

The System nodded expectantly. "That’s right."

Bai Su: "And what’s in it for me?"

System: "Huh?"

Bai Su: "This 2.0 plot of yours is so pointless, and you want me to write it? What’s the benefit for me? I don’t do things for free."

When it came to the System, she was all business.

The System asked, confused, "You’re the protagonist. Isn’t that the benefit?"

Bai Su’s lip twitched. ’I am the protagonist. That’s a given, not some benefit you’re granting me. The 2.0 plot is a blank slate, and you’re telling me to fill it. Isn’t that just making me work for you? I don’t work for free.’

The System grew anxious, arguing weakly, "In the 2.0 plot, you can cultivate to higher Levels, Host! You can become stronger, and your potential will be limitless!"

Bai Su: "Not interested. The greater the reward, the greater the risk. I prefer the stability of running my little restaurant in version 1.0."

The System grew even more frantic, desperately trying to sell Bai Su on the benefits of the 2.0 plot.

’The 2.0 plot is a golden opportunity to help the Host achieve godhood!’

’If one of my Hosts becomes the god of a plane, even a small system like me can turn things around, get promoted three ranks!!’

’How could she say no?!’

But no matter what the System said, Bai Su wouldn’t budge.

The System had no choice but to concede. "Fine. Host, what will it take for you to continue cultivating and advance the 2.0 plot?"

Bai Su: "We business people are easy to talk to. Give me some more golden points, and we can talk about anything."

The System sounded troubled. "Golden points can only be generated from the main characters. You can only get large amounts of golden points by having children with the male leads. Daily copulation can generate a small amount. Other than those two methods, there are no other sources."

Bai Su: "Oh. In that case, I’m not cultivating anymore. I’m fine with being Level 10."

The System wanted to cry.

And it really did cry. "Host..."

Bai Su remained unmoved.

’Although this System had been with her since she arrived in this world, their relationship wasn’t exactly great.’

’In the beginning, it would even go against her wishes from time to time.’

’Later on, probably seeing she was hard to control, it urged her a few times. But when it saw she had no intention of having children with the male leads, it gradually slacked off, gave up on her, and mostly left her alone.’

’For it to suddenly become so proactive, there was only one possibility.’

’This 2.0 plot must have some huge benefit for the System.’

’In that case, she was naturally going to fleece it for all it was worth.’

The System wailed for several minutes. Seeing that Bai Su had no intention of comforting it, it fell silent, embarrassed.

’This Host might be a pretty girl, but she was not easy to fool.’

It had no choice but to compromise. "Alright, a reward in golden points is possible... but don’t get your hopes up, Host. I can’t give you too many, it would disrupt the natural order..."

Bai Su: "I want fifty thousand golden points."

The System let out a piercing shriek. "Your entire total is only a little over fifty thousand golden points!"

Bai Su: "Exactly. It’s too hard to earn points. Without points, I’m not motivated."

The System absolutely refused.

The woman and the system haggled back and forth at the bottom of the cliff for a long time. In the end, the System caved.

Seeing the amount of golden points in her account suddenly double, Bai Su’s expression finally softened. ’I want to upgrade my Skills.’

The System tried to entice her. "With so many points, why not get a new Skill?"

Bai Su said firmly, ’No. I want to upgrade my Skills.’

The System had never been able to coax this businesswoman into a high-commission purchase, so it had no choice but to give in. "Fine... The 2.0 store has upgrade items. They’re 100 points each."

Bai Su immediately splurged 1,000 points, upgrading her Clone Skill to the maximum level.

All her Clones could now last for at least three months.
