Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Arriving at the Invincible Alliance
The grilled fish was golden brown, its skin roasted to a fragrant crisp. Inside, the meat was firm and succulent—a dual delight in a single bite.
Lord Mo was eating for the first time, and its first taste of food was something this delicious. It couldn’t resist taking another bite to savor it.
In her soul form, Yu An couldn’t feel hunger. But who only eats delicious food to fill their stomach?
She rolled her eyes repeatedly, but Lord Mo’s attention was completely fixed on the grilled fish. It didn’t spare her a single glance.
Bite after bite, the entire fish was soon reduced to a skeleton. When Lord Mo stood up, Yu An assumed it was time to leave and quickly said,
"Put out the fire before you go, or you could start a fire!"
’Better safe than sorry. Don’t think a fire can’t start just because we’re at the beach.’
Lord Mo ignored her. It turned, waded into the sea, and came back with two more fish.
It ordered succinctly, "Grill."
Yu An was speechless.
Back in her body, Yu An resignedly began to grill. "They say you can’t be tough on someone you’ve taken from. So, can you tell me? Do I get to live?"
Lord Mo’s voice echoed from within her. "We will die together."
Busy flipping the fish, Yu An asked, "You mean we’ll die together after the world is destroyed, so it doesn’t matter whether I live or die until then?"
Hearing its grunt of affirmation, she snapped, "Every day I’m alive is another day I’ve got. Even ants will fight to survive. I’m a living person, so what’s wrong with wanting to live a little longer?"
A hint of mockery tinged Lord Mo’s voice. "What’s the point?"
"Of course there is," Yu An said, counting on her fingers. "I still haven’t seen the birthday present my Zaizai got for me, I haven’t spent enough time with my Female Mother, Beast Father, and my brothers, and I haven’t eaten all the delicious food in the world..."
She listed a whole slew of things, took a sip of water to wet her throat, then continued, "And another thing! Ever since I came to the Beast God Continent, I haven’t even gotten to sleep with my Feng Xuan!"
Feng Xuan had been working hard to restore his looks, so from the moment they reunited until now, they hadn’t... not even once.
"COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!"
Lord Mo choked. "How can you just say things like that!"
Yu An threw up her hands. "What’s the big deal? It’s perfectly normal."
Fearing she might say something even more outrageous, Lord Mo told her to shut up and focus on grilling. Yu An pouted and sprinkled some powder onto the fish.
Lord Mo’s voice rang out. "What was that you just sprinkled? It looks different from last time. I’m warning you, don’t try any funny business!"
"Garlic powder," Yu An replied, looking completely innocent. "You don’t want to eat three fish that taste exactly the same, do you? Wouldn’t you rather try some variety, like garlic, tomato, or black pepper?"
Lord Mo fell silent, allowing her to season the two fish as she saw fit.
Soon, the fish were ready. Lord Mo ejected Yu An from her body once again.
Yu An, now familiar with the routine, perched on a small rock and watched Lord Mo eat.
"It smells so good! I think it’s grilled fish."
"No way. How could grilled fish smell *this* good?"
"But she’s definitely holding a grilled fish."
A few childish voices drifted over from nearby. Yu An looked over to see several young Sea Clan Beastman cubs peeking out from behind a tree, their heads bobbing inquisitively.
Yu An instinctively glanced at Lord Mo. "They look like cubs from a nearby tribe. You just eat your fish. Don’t hurt them."
Lord Mo paused and shot her a cool glance. "I’m not that bloodthirsty."
The corner of Yu An’s mouth twitched. "Yeah, right. If you don’t kill the innocent, then what about Wen Qing’s family?"
Lord Mo didn’t answer, simply lowering its gaze and continuing to eat.
Perhaps the aroma of the grilled fish was too tempting. The cubs came running over, PATTER PATTER PATTER, each of them carrying something. "Sister!"
Lord Mo looked up.
"Sister, can we trade these for one of your grilled fish, please?" the oldest of the cubs asked, mustering his courage.
Each of them was holding a green, spherical object, which they placed timidly on the ground. Lord Mo frowned, just about to shoo them away.
"Hey, those are coconuts!"
Yu An’s eyes lit up. "Quick, say yes! Coconut water is delicious, and you can make all sorts of desserts with it. Coconut chicken is to die for!"
When Lord Mo remained silent, she slapped her forehead. "Never mind. I’d be making it for you to eat anyway. If you want to try it, make the trade. If not, then forget it."
"Trade," Lord Mo said. It looked at the two grilled fish in its hands, unwilling to part with either. "You grill one for them."
Yu An nearly fell off her rock. She sighed. "Fine, fine."
Lord Mo polished off the two grilled fish in short order. Just as the cubs, assuming the deal was off, were about to leave, the previously expressionless female called out to them.
"Don’t go," Yu An said, getting to her feet and directing them. "Go gather some dry branches. I’ll go catch some fish, and then I’ll grill them for you."
They froze for a second, then broke into cheers. "Thank you, Sister!"
Yu An smiled, patting their small heads. "Good kids."
There were five cubs in total. Yu An deliberately left out the chili powder. As the fire brought out the aroma of cumin, the little ones were practically drooling.
"Sister, you’re amazing! I can’t believe you can make grilled fish smell this good!"
The little ones gazed at Yu An with stars in their eyes, as if she were the most incredible person in the world.
Yu An was grinning from ear to ear at the praise. She lapped it all up and, in addition to the grilled fish, gave them some extra food as well.
Now it was their turn to feel shy. They pulled Yu An to the spot where they’d found the coconuts and picked several more for her before finally heading home.
Yu An kept one coconut and put the rest in her storage space. She poked a hole in the one she kept, inserted a straw, and in the next second, her soul was ejected again.
She shrugged. Clearly, she had come to accept her situation.
Lord Mo took a sip of the coconut water. It tasted strange at first, but by the second sip, it had grown accustomed to the flavor.
For a while after that, Lord Mo traveled by day and rested by night. But whenever it was time to eat, it would have Yu An cook, demanding a different dish for every meal.
’Yu An figured that with Lord Mo’s power, it could easily travel day and night without rest. She had a reasonable suspicion that it was only stopping so it could try more kinds of delicious food.’
On the tenth day, they finally arrived at the Invincible Alliance.
Ao Yin had been going crazy. He couldn’t contact Poisonous Insect Granny, Lord Mo was nowhere to be found, and the plan to attack the Dragon Clan was being delayed again and again.
He cared about two things more than anything else in his life. The first was making the Dragon Clan his prisoners, proving that choosing Ao Jin as the Clan Leader had been a mistake.
The second was making Yu Huang fall in love with him so they could live happily as husband and wife.
But after plotting for so long, he hadn’t managed to accomplish either goal. How could he not be frustrated?
"Alliance Hierarch! A report from the city gate guards! The young lady of the Dragon Clan has entered Invincible City!"
Ao Yin was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed. "Quick! Take some men and capture her... No, I’ll go myself!"
He didn’t stop to wonder why Yu An had appeared in Invincible City. All he knew was that capturing her meant both of his dreams could come true!
Ao Yin immediately led his men out of the Invincible Alliance. When onlookers saw Ao Yin himself leading such a large retinue, they burst into discussion.
When he stopped a female in the middle of the street, the crowd of onlookers was shocked. "Hey, what’s going on?"
"I don’t know. Did that female offend Alliance Leader Ao? From the looks of it, he’s out for revenge."
