Chapter 416: Chapter 416: First Phase
Ved found himself floating above an ocean. Waves crashed against each other below him.
The sky above was covered by dark clouds with occasional flashes of thunder. Heavy winds wreaked havoc across the entire sky.
He used his soul sense but no matter how far he stretched it, he couldn’t find a single contestant.
Mind you there were 10 million contestants in this place. This was a testament of how massive this dimension was.
According to little bits of information he had gathered, it was larger than an entire galaxy. Even at his full speed, he wouldn’t be able to cover the entire place.
Even the fastest comprehension can at most move at around 100x the speed of light.
Even the smallest galaxy was tens of thousands of light years across. Extremely vast.
He flapped his wings and started flying at a leisurely pace. At least to him but he was moving faster than lightning.
Something as huge and heavy as him moving at that speed naturally generated calamitous winds.
After flying for a few hours he finally met the first lifeform in this place. It was giant carp swimming in the sea.
The carp was around 40 metres long with cultivation at rank 6. The creature looked when it see him.
Then it sunk below the ocean and swam away. Ved also ignored it, it was too weak to be of any use to him anyway.
He continued flying in a general direction, that direction was where he could sense Naledi.
He could feel her getting closer meaning she was flying towards him as well. Suddenly she stopped.
Ved paused, ’ Did she meet some trouble?’ he wondered then sped up moving twice as fast as light.
---------------------------------
Naledi was currently surrounded by nearly 300 opponents at level 9 of comprehension realm.
The strongest of them was a man with four eyes. Other than that he looked completely human.
The issue was that he was a mythical grade beings and Naledi could sense a great law on him.
This guy alone could give her a serious fight but having over 290 more opponents was too much even for her.
If they were on the same level, she might’ve been able to take on all of them without issue but right now, that was impossible.
Naledi was monstrously strong, she wasn’t humble enough to deny that, she acknowledged that only Ved could rival her.
But she had limits as well, what she couldn’t do though is reveal that to them so she summoned her vessel.
The thing blue sword gleamed below the shining moon. " Are you sure you want to do this?"
She asked them but instead of being intimidated they laughed at her. After all she was just at level 2.
It stood to reason that they wouldn’t see her as a threat. Naledi descended and landed on the ground.
They followed to her level then she attacked without warning. Thousands of blue strings shot through the air.
These strings were intangible and weightless making them absurdly fast. Some dodged and some blocked.
Those who blocked learnt their mistake instantly. The strings phased through their defences like they weren’t even there.
Those who dodged were not very lucky either, more strings came from the ground catching then off guard.
Over 250 of them were caught by th strings with only a few escaping them but the strings didn’t hurt.
They all wondered what the point of these strings were. Naledi waved her sword like she was a choir director.
" Marionette: Dance of the thousand souls." Her reverberated across the battlefield. Blood flew.
This caught all of them off guard as they attacked each other. Naledi understood this was her limit.
Once they actively try to resist her strings they will easily break through them. But it was too late.
Nearly a hundred of them were gravely wounded from that one attack. The rest reacted.
As she had expected, they broke her strings easily. Having split their power to so many people.
The strings were bound to be weaker than normal. Her supreme law of space blazed around her.
" Stop right there!" The man with four eyes shouted. Four beams shot out from his eyes like lasers.
Naledi disappeared, the four lasers ripped the ground to shreds but she was nowhere to be found.
She appeared a few light years away and took a deep breath. Teleporting such a large distance drained too much essence.
She continued flying in Ved’s direction as fast she could. She figured they would be safer together.
There was one thing most of them did not know for certain. Killing in this dimension was impossible.
Unless your laws can rival that of a sovereign, those you killed will just be teleported out.
Even though the contestants were told not to kill, they were also told to not hold back if that would jeopardize their chances of victory.
So killing wantonly without reason was forbidden but when not given any other choice, it was acceptable.
However there should be no other choice like in her case. Holding back while outnumbered would’ve put her at a disadvantage instead.
This was intended to build comradeship somehow while also teaching them that in certain situations.
Even allies can be eliminated for the better good.
---------------------------------
After Naledi left, the ground tended to their allies before trying to chase after her but they had barely moved when they were intercepted.
Amongst this group there were also spiritual beasts, they were the first to shiver in fear and back off.
Suddenly a giant shadow appeared in front of the group. They looked up and saw a bear, a fox and a wolf looking down on them.
These three were descendents of the beast sovereigns and each one had legendary grade bloodline.
However they descended from higher beasts so they were stronger than their grades would suggest.
" You there." The bear called out in a feminine young voice. " Give us the flag and we’ll let you leave here alive."
Her threat made the four eyed man furious. " Who do you think you are to threaten me beast?"
The bear grinned and the battle began instantly.
