Chapter 97: Car Dealership
Sebastian bought Max to every car he thought of. He even allowed Max for a test drive.
Max took half an hour to choose a car that would probably suit Enzo’s reference.
He chose the limited edition by Veloce Automotive that cost $84,185 CAD, tax included.
The body was coated in a limited-edition "Liquid Aurora" matte paint.
Sebastian showed how its color changed through visual display. In the dull shade of a suburban overcast day, it looked like a deep, smoky charcoal. But under the bright LED lights of the dealership lot, the paint shifted into a vibrant, electric violet and deep teal depending on the angle you look at it.
Max was deeply mesmerized. He scrutinized the automotive while listening to Sebastian’s information.
The automotive was a low-slung, four-door electric coupe. Instead of traditional sharp, boxy edges, the body looked like a single piece of swept, aerodynamic glass and sculpted carbon fiber.
Because it was fully electric and energy-efficient, it did not have a traditional front radiator grille. Instead, the entire front nose was a seamless, glossy black panel that hid a matrix of interactive, pixelated LED headlights. When a person in the visual display approached with the key fob, the lights cascade in a sweeping "welcome wave."
It sat on massive 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels with geometric blade inserts. These inserts were physically engineered to scoop air away from the car, drastically reducing wind resistance and turning heads with their hypnotic spin.
The roof was a single, continuous sheet of smart panoramic glass embedded with micro-solar filaments. It trickled energy back into the battery just by sitting in a suburban driveway.
Max took a liking to it because of such glass canopy feature. After all, the apartment’s parking lot didn’t have a shade.
He had also chosen it for Enzo because of its silent power.
When he started the car earlier, there was no engine roar—which Enzo deeply liked. He disliked loud noises, evident by how silent the room was every time he studies.
As it was just a low, futuristic hum that vibrates slightly through the floorboards before fading into absolute silence, Max was definitely certain that Enzo would take a liking into the automotive.
It was within his budget, so he didn’t hesitate.
Now, it was his turn to choose his supercar.
But, Sebastian meticulously questioned him if Max was serious buying the cars.
Max didn’t mind. He understood Sebastian’s skepticism.
Without hesitation, he opened his phone and his bank account and showed it straight to his face.
At the moment, the Greenhorn had returned, bringing the sales manager and the guard with him.
He pointed at Max and grinned.
Blake and Summer followed him behind, deeply wanting to witness the spectacle of humiliating Max.
Greenhorn didn’t care about Max at all now, he simply wanted to retaliate to Sebastian who humiliated him in front of other customers.
It took him half an hour to convince the sales manager, so he wouldn’t waste the chance that was given to him.
Sebastian was lost in staring at Max’s phone, not realizing that the sales manager was standing between them.
The sales manager was a beautiful woman at 30s. She earned the position not because of having a backer, but by the qualifications she worked hard to attain.
She stared at Sebastian.
Sebastian’s face was full of shock—the main reason she didn’t call her yet.
The greenhorn called her name, seemingly in a haste, but one glared at her instantly silenced him.
The sales manager turned her focus at Sebastian and at the phone.
She glanced at Max, who also stared at her and suddenly moved the phone towards her face.
The sales manager frowned and read the texts in front of her...
No, it wasn’t the texts that caught her attention, it was the numbers.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5...
Holy shit! That’s 8 digits!
The sales manager were so shocked she almost fainted.
I-I just doubted a wealthy young man!
Unlike Sebastian, she immediately composed herself and glared at the Greenhorn.
Out of anger, she was about to shout at him when she realized she was standing in front of Max.
She didn’t want to show an unpleasant attitude to a valued customer, so she hastily smiled at him and bowed.
"Dear customer, it’s a pleasure to see you visiting our car dealership. I hope Sebastian assists you to your liking."
Max simply nodded and shoved his phone to his pocket.
The sales manager politely asked to take a leave by bowing and walked past Max.
At the same time, she cast a knowing glance at the two guards, who were dumbfounded by her behavior.
But they quickly caught on to what was happening. Without hesitation, one of the guard immediately made a move and grabbed the sales consultant’s arm, dragging him forward.
The other guard politely gestured for Blake and Summer to leave out of their confusion and shocked.
Blake didn’t cause a scene.
Perceiving the stares from others, he was already aware he was humiliated.
But he didn’t want to humiliate himself even more and followed the guard’s guidance.
However, Summer couldn’t accept what had just happened.
She clung tightly on Blake’s arm and was bout to make a scandal when Blake slapped her face, almost knocking her unconscious.
The guard caught her body and led them outside.
The sales consultant on the other hand couldn’t accept he was being dragged away.
He didn’t care about his image anymore, his work was at stake.
He shouted at the sales manager while struggling from the guard’s firm grasp.
"Miss Paisley. I was wrong. Let me amend my mistake! I’ll apologize for the gentleman.
Young man, please forgive me! I was wrong!"
The guard glanced at the sales manager who gestured for him to shut the sales consultant’s mouth, which he obliged.
The sales consultant struggled and already broke into tears, knowing he was about to lose his job.
He glared at Sebastian, who was also dazing at him...
