Chapter 96: Daydreamer

Max traveled to the nearest car dealership—one that was very popular in the entire suburb.

When he arrived, a guard barely glanced at him before opening the door indifferently.

He was used to the sight of a young man entering inside only to mesmerize himself and swore to buy one in the future.

He called them "Daydreamers."

If even himself was already used to it, the sales consultants themselves were more accustomed to it.

When they saw Max, most of them didn’t bother and simply glanced at him before seemingly looking like they were busy.

There were other customers who dressed appropriately, as though they were wealthy enough to afford a car.

Max, on the other hand, badly needed a consultant to assist him in choosing the car he took a liking to.

Yet, whenever his gaze past a sales consultant, they would immediately look away from him, seemingly avoiding him at all.

Max frowned. He was already considering choosing another car dealership.

As he fell into deep thought, he snapped awake and took a step beside him.

A hand failed to grab his shoulder and brushed past him.

He turned around and saw a familiar face.

They were a young man and a clingy young woman the similar age of him.

When Max glanced at the clingy young woman, he finally recognized them.

Blake Henessy. Summer Gill.

Speaking of the devil...

Max felt amused that he encountered the two minor villains in his past life.

Blake Henessy was among the wealthiest classmate he had.

He wasn’t bullied all the time, but ever since his parents died and Max began working at any job just to sustain him and his brother, they started to mock him.

Max was still insecure and soft hearted at that time. Obviously, their words made a lot of impact on him that he started to feel humiliated, enough for him to be less present in the school.

If it wasn’t because of Summer, Max wouldn’t recognize them at all.

He encountered Summer when apocalypse descended.

She appeared pitiful. She was just a D-rank Healer.

Out of pity after Summer constantly begged him to join his party, Max took her in.

But betrayal occurred the moment Blake, who was supposed to be dead, appeared.

He was a C-rank Swordsman and when Summer came to learn about it, she didn’t hesitate to leave Max’s party and even tipped information to Blake about Max’s resources.

Blake declared war against Max, and the latter, of course, won. His party didn’t disappoint him at all.

He had his revenge, so he wasn’t particularly interested in the two people in front of him.

Blake sneered at him and Max stared at him indifferently before finally seeing a sales consultant walking on their direction behind Blake.

He was about to raise his hand at the sales consultant, when the latter stopped in front of Blake and politely said, "Mister, are you interested in our cars. I can help you choose a car that fits your taste."

When Blake heard it, he smirked at Max.

He said in a mocking tone, "Do you really believe that they are willing to assist you? You can’t even afford a branded clothes just from the way you look."

Summer burst into a hoot of laughter and snuggled even more to Blake’s embrace.

She cast a mocking stare at Max.

The sales consultant was also staring at Max with a ridicule gaze.

Max was infuriated.

But he was able to control his emotion, keeping his facial expression to appear indifferent.

He turned around, just in time a sales consultant finally walked towards him.

The sales consultant surprised him. He was among those who glanced at him indifferently before continuing to sip on his coffee.

Max didn’t confirm first if the sales consultant came for him.

He waited until the old man finally arrived in front of him and said in a professional voice, "Is there a specific car that you are looking for?"

Max nodded and was about to reply when the sales consultant behind him suddenly said, "Old man, Sebastian. Have you grown senile? Is that your question towards him?

Does he look like he can afford a car?

I won’t even be surprised if he can’t afford the price of an umbrella that are included as freebies."

His voice was loud, enough to catch the others’ attention.

When they heard what he said, they burst into laughter, including Blake and Summer.

They took a liking to the sales consultant even more.

However, the sales consultant, Sebastian, didn’t spare him a glance as he kept his gaze on Max’s eyes.

It was a gaze that seemed to pierce through the outward appearance and understood what Max’s actual worth.

Max was amused by his behavior. He was definitely a professional sales consultant.

Since they already had everyone’s attention, Max suddenly felt like humiliating the sales consultant and the two minor villains behind him.

He raised his hand and extended two fingers.

He said, "I want to buy two cars. One should be energy efficient for transportation but must be eye-catching and the other is a supercar.

Focus on the quality. I don’t mind the price."

Max wasn’t planning to buy a supercar, but since he was already at it, and Sarah’s apartment has a parking lot space, he didn’t hesitate to choose one.

He was excited to have a supercar, as well.

It was everyone’s childhood dream.

Those who heard what he said drew a sharp breath.

They were stunned and speechless.

However, the sales consultant behind Max was the first one to react.

He burst into laughter and said, "Supercar?

Ridiculous!

Guard, get this young man out of this place."

"Shut your mouth, Greenhorn." Sebastian’s glare and threatening voice startled the sales consultant.

He then realized that everyone were staring at him.

He couldn’t accept the humiliation from Sebastian.

He was about to retort when Sebastian composed himself and coughed.

Sebastian stared at Max in silence before finally taking a risk.

He said, "Let me show you the best cars I have in mind based on your preference."

Max nodded and followed him...
