Chapter 94: Potions
Max smiled reading the list and, for some reason, felt a huge sense of satisfaction in being so ahead of them.
Max also realized one thing—every single one of the future S-rank players was wealthy enough to contend against others.
Even Max was surprised that Rhayne didn’t win.
Did she even contend?
Max suddenly shook his head when he realized he was thinking about her.
He was still infuriated from her actions.
Though he already moved on from it.
Max memorized the names on the list and dived into the game.
Aethernova was strict this time, giving him a day deadline to settle every transaction.
Max wanted money anyway, so he followed.
In five hours inside the game, Max finished all the transactions, as well as removing those players from his contact list.
His contact list was neat and clean.
It was "Empty."
Max didn’t mind and close the tab.
This time, Max visited the Four Training Halls.
His intentions were simple...
...
8pm. April 2, 2028.
Aethernova auction’s set equipments were already sold out.
They announced that the next auction’s set equipments would occur next week.
This would allow players who bought the first batch to have a clear advantage and felt a sense of satisfaction in spending a lot of money to win the item.
Yet, suddenly, at 8pm in the evening, as Aethernova continued to amass followers, eventually reaching seventy million, they made another announcement that shook the community.
They auctioned again, but this time...
It was potions.
Not just an ordinary potion such as stamina potions and mana potions.
They were very specific potions for every main class and sub-class.
For Warrior Main Class, Aethernova auctioned Warrior’s Strength Potion, Ironblood Potion, Weaponmaster’s Draught, Battle Rage Elixir, Juggernaut Tonic, Berserker’s Brew, and Guardian’s Elixir.
There were also subclass variants, such as Blade Focus Potion, Piercing Lance Tonic, Bulwark Elixir, and Blood Fury Draught.
For Ranger Main Class, they were Eagle Eye Potion, Swiftstep Elixir, Predator’s Draught, Shadow Veil Potion, Reflex Tonic, Hunter’s Focus Elixir, and Tracker’s Potion.
As for its subclass variants, they were Hawkeye Elixir, Pathfinder’s Brew, Silent Killer Potion, and Trickshot Tonic.
For Mage Main Class, they were Manaflow Potion, Arcane Amplifier, Quickcast Draught, Mystic Focus Elixir, Leyline Resonance Potion, Spellweaver’s Elixir, and Aether Surge Potion.
As for its subclass variants, they were Inferno Catalyst, Frostheart Elixir, Tempest Draught, and Pure Arcana Elixir.
Lastly, for Support Main Class, they were Restoration Potion, Blessing Elixir, Clarity Tonic, Inspiration Draught, Purification Potion, Harmony Elixir, and Commander’s Brew.
As for its subclass variants, they were Sacred Recovery Elixir, Enchantment Catalyst, Catalyst Infusion, and Strategist’s Draught.
There were many potions that Aethernova’s market website had to creatively divided the main classes in different tabs.
The players were astonished.
Yet, some were enraged, especially for those who couldn’t afford to compete to buy potions.
The potions were undoubtedly a cheat external resources they couldn’t compete.
At this point, when Apocalypse Online was supposed to free-to-play became a pay-to-play game because of Aethernova’s action.
Most of them began attacking Aethernova’s page, spreading hate about their actions.
Aethernova didn’t respond and placed their whole attention in providing a best quality service for those participants in the upcoming option.
They invested millions of dollars to improving their websites.
It was already obvious.
There was more to come.
Coins, set equipments, potions... The First Player had already provided them.
Speaking of the First Player, many other players intensify their hates towards him.
It was inevitable.
The players were clearly aware that behind the auctioned items from Aethernova originated from the First Player himself.
He made his announcement that he continued to be the leading player after completing his second-class advancement, while the First Swordsman was way behind.
The players in Greyfen Village already spread the news he left long ago.
Which only meant he traveled to nearest town and perhaps even a city with the help of a powerful NPC.
At the same time, he managed to bulk purchase the items and auctioned them with the help of Aethernova.
For them, Max was a despicable greedy individual who wouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of the situation just to earn money.
Because of the extreme hate about the First Player, as Aethernova was being attacked as well, an hour before the auction’s commencement, they posted their statement.
[Dear Players,
It has come into our attention of the rapid online attack from other players, mostly affecting our dearest First Player.
Most of the statements are understandable, but we may also not forget that the First Player himself didn’t have such advantage.
Leading the players in terms of levels and map exploration didn’t involve spending money in real life.
Yes, it might be because of luck, and he played earlier than others, but he remained consistent.
For those who are complaining about turning the game into pay-to-win, may we hopefully not forget that everything is run by money.
This is not decided solely by us. The moment Apocalypse Online was launched and became popular, it is to be expected that others would immediately think of earning money from this game in real life.
We are just one among those fortunate enough to be the leading organization when it comes auctioning the goods that was provided by the First Player.
We are also asking for those critiques and simply haters to stop the hateful remarks directed at him.
If you are in his shoes or is given an opportunity like him, there’s no doubt you’ll definitely do the similar thing.
This may be the reminder that what we’ve auctioned and who wins at the end doesn’t necessarily mean they would always remain a victor.
If you want to win and become better, do in the way that you can and are willing to.
Hating others because of their advantage simply shows envy and insecurities.
May this enlighten everyone.
GG! Players!]
Unfortunately, those who hated Aethernova and the First Player only intensified their attacks, targeting the statement’s words and twisted it to their advantage.
Even then, Aethernova’s released statement doesn’t necessarily mean it was futile.
They managed to amass followers who understood their message and began retaliating on their stead...
