Chapter 266: Pressure
Soon, the Dawn Guard, who had been waiting outside for a while, all entered the room. They had just been about to inquire if they could be of assistance when they were suddenly frozen in their tracks.
Inside the meeting room, there were only lifeless bodies. The assassins from the Heavenly Dragon had been easily defeated by Waldo.
Indeed, as rumored, Waldo possessed incredible strength beyond ordinary imagination. Killing all three Japanese rulers was entirely plausible. With Waldo on their side, perhaps the Dawn Guard would have a brighter future, and their strength would continue to grow.
The onlookers swallowed hard, their thoughts racing in the silence.
Waldo then instructed the cleanup of the bodies. Alanna looked at Waldo with admiration.
"Waldo, you really have some skills. You actually guessed that the people from the Heavenly Dragon wouldn’t give up tonight! They did send someone to find you!"
Waldo gave a faint smile. "Well, you should consider who I am!"
"You should get some rest. Whatever needs to be discussed can wait until tomorrow," Helen expressed concern. Waldo had been pushing himself too hard lately and needed to rest.
"It’s time for a good rest," Waldo agreed, stretching lazily. However, there was one more thing.
"What is it?" Helen inquired.
Waldo didn’t say much and led the two women to the broadcasting room. Using the battleship’s massive speaker system, he addressed the direction of the Heavenly Dragon.
"All aboard the Heavenly Dragon, listen carefully," Waldo’s voice echoed through the speaker. "The Green Wolf, thinking you could infiltrate our battleship without consequences, has been discovered and successfully eliminated."
"The lesson is right before your eyes. I hope you won’t harbor any illusions or take unnecessary risks."
"Lastly, here’s a friendly reminder: you have eleven hours left to decide whether to surrender to us. When the time is up, if you remain stubborn, don’t blame us for not showing mercy."
After speaking, Waldo set down the microphone and said to the two women, "Let’s go, let’s get some rest. Tonight, I’m going to make sure both of you are very satisfied!"
Alanna and Helen blushed deeply.
Meanwhile, on the Heavenly Dragon, the survivors were in an uproar.
"The Green Wolf was killed?"
"The operation failed?"
"What operation?"
"Why did it fail?"
"Why was the Green Wolf killed?"
Many among them keenly realized that tonight, the Green Wolf had launched a counterattack against the battleship. However, the outcome was clear: they had failed.
"The General Green Wolf was killed? Is this for real, or is the enemy trying to disrupt our morale?"
"We don’t know for sure yet, but we can’t rule out the possibility!"
"I don’t think it’s fake; this news can easily be verified. Besides, knowing the Green Wolf and the Black Wolf, they are not the type to sit around waiting to die. They must have taken action tonight, trying to turn the tide."
"In that case, it seems General Green Wolf’s death is confirmed. This... Oh, dear, I feel like we have no hope left. If the General couldn’t make it, what can we do?"
The news of the Green Wolf’s death left the people on the Heavenly Dragon feeling incredibly incredulous. After all, the Green Wolf’s strength was quite terrifying. Even level-sixty rulers were not a match for him. Yet, he had fallen into the hands of the enemy.
Many were overwhelmed with despair.
Meanwhile, in a large room, Black Wolf wore an exceptionally grim expression. He had heard Waldo’s broadcast, but even before that, he had received the news of the Green Wolf’s operation failure.
Originally, he thought that even in case of failure, with the Green Wolf’s strength, they could still escape with their lives. As long as the two brothers were together, there was still hope. However, he never expected that the Green Wolf would also perish up there!
"Damn it!" Black Wolf slammed his fist onto the table, grinding his teeth. "Waldo, I won’t rest until I’ve avenged this! Just wait, I’ll make you pay!"
"Do you think a battleship can act with impunity? It’s ridiculous! Just wait; I’m not so easily subdued!"
Then, Black Wolf called for one of his most trusted confidants. Currently, the Heavenly Dragon was in a state of unease, and many were having second thoughts. There weren’t many people Black Wolf could fully trust.
"General, do you have any orders? Are we taking action? I’m willing to avenge General Green Wolf, even if it costs me my life!" The man who entered was a tall and burly individual in his twenties named Ellen, a staunch supporter of Black Wolf. At this moment, his face mirrored Black Wolf’s grim expression. The death of the Green Wolf had dealt them a severe blow.
When Black Wolf called him in, he thought it might be for a desperate last stand. However, Black Wolf shook his head.
"You want to seek revenge? Stop dreaming; you’ll only end up dead. I brought you here to help me gather information on this Waldo, the commander of the enemy battleship, the controller of the Dawn Guard!"
Black Wolf had limited information on this matter. In fact, he had only recently learned that the commander of the opposing battleship was named Waldo.
Soon, Ellen hurriedly departed to gather information. In fact, Waldo had been a public figure with high visibility before. While he had gone silent for a period after entering the Oceanic Era, finding information about him was still relatively easy. After all, many people knew him.
Before long, Ellen compiled the information and handed it over to Black Wolf. Upon reading it, he was taken aback.
Waldo’s life story was nothing short of legendary. His achievements were dazzling:
He had once single-handedly battled and ultimately slain a level-five zombie lord.
On the Dawn Guard, he easily defeated and eventually killed the united Japanese trio of rulers.
The more Black Wolf read, the more grim his expression became, and the more he felt a sense of dread.
