Since the Card Furnace was still running, Sylas Sawyer’s card would have to wait until tomorrow.
In the meantime, Perry Yates reviewed the cards she had fused, looking to see if she was lacking any specific Skills.
She wasn’t short on offensive options. After all, besides her Skills, she also had items. More importantly, Perry Yates didn’t actually enjoy combat.
Her means of survival were also sufficient.
Since she couldn’t find any weaknesses in those two areas, her only option was to focus on attributes.
Remembering that the next game was water-related, Perry Yates turned her attention to the shelf dedicated to Water Attribute Cards.
She selected a card called Water Spirit, then a Wood Attribute card called Fuping, and finally a Spirit Attribute card called Spiritual Detection.
Perry Yates planned to fuse these three cards into a brand-new one.
She set the three cards aside so she wouldn’t forget about them later.
Then there was the five-star item card: the poker cards.
After fusing two four-star cards, she had already decided on the attributes for the remaining four: Earth, Wind, Light, and Dark.
Perry Yates took stock of her upcoming tasks and her main source of energy—food. ’Looks like I’ll have to bring back more prey from the next game,’ she thought.
’Maybe I should make people who order custom cards provide their own energy from now on?’
She dismissed the idea as soon as it occurred to her. The reason was simple: food from Cerulea wasn’t good enough; it contained too little energy.
’If it really comes down to it, I’ll just have to perform Ascension on the remaining food twice.’
If quantity was an issue, she would have to make up for it with quality.

Perry Yates was incredibly busy for the next few days.
First, the fusion for the Any Door card was completed. It was her first Fusion Card and, to date, her only card with four attributes.
After taking the card out, she tossed Sylas Sawyer’s three cards in.
Fusing White Cards was relatively quick, but because she was fusing three at once, it still took several hours.
While she waited, Perry Yates used Ascension to raise the Any Door card to three stars. There wasn’t quite enough time to get it to four stars.
Thanks to The Card Tavern’s soaring popularity, the bar was packed almost daily. Some people, upon learning that only players could enter, simply started living there.
Gradually, the once-empty Phantom Street started to bustle with activity.
Perry Yates paid their behavior no mind.
They could do whatever they wanted, as long as they didn’t fight and destroy her property.
It wasn’t until the tenth day that Perry Yates finally contacted Sylas Sawyer.
Sylas Sawyer, who had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, finally saw his bracelet turn green. He rushed over to The Card Tavern and found Perry Yates already waiting for him at the same table where they had first met.
"Boss, I finally heard from you," Sylas Sawyer said, plopping down in the seat across from Perry Yates. He grinned teasingly. "Any longer and I would’ve thought you’d taken my money and run."
Perry Yates took a sip of her drink, her expression under the mask a little sheepish.
In truth, Sylas Sawyer’s card had finished its Ascension long ago. She just felt that if she produced it too quickly, he might think that making four-star cards was easy for her. So, she hadn’t brought it out right away, intending to delay a little.
But in delaying, she’d completely forgotten about it. She only remembered when her butler reminded her.
She cut straight to business.
Perry Yates took out the four-star card and placed it on the table.
Sylas Sawyer’s eyes lit up when he saw the card. He immediately picked it up and began to inspect it carefully.
After confirming there was nothing wrong with the card, he looked at Perry Yates as if she were a priceless treasure.
"You’re truly remarkable, Boss."
Sylas Sawyer deliberately emphasized the words "truly remarkable," but Perry Yates paid it no mind.
After collecting the final payment, Perry Yates stood up and left. Meanwhile, Sylas Sawyer, still holding the card, immediately chose to fuse with it.
A long time later, as the fusion completed, Sylas Sawyer slowly opened his eyes. ’So this is the power of a four-star card?’

If not for the rule that fighting was forbidden in The Card Tavern—with violators being permanently blacklisted—Sylas Sawyer would have been dying to test the card’s power right then and there.
After seeing Sylas Sawyer off, and with the next game drawing ever closer, Perry Yates simply suspended her custom card service. The reason she gave was simple and direct: the owner was about to enter a game and had no time.
Afterward, Perry Yates worked quickly to finish the remaining custom card orders she had on hand.
By the time she had taken care of everything, only two days remained before the start of the next game.
She had previously thought that not many people could afford her prices for custom cards, but this period proved her wrong—dead wrong.
The world is never short on clever people. Even though White Cards were called "trash cards," some still chose to spend a fortune collecting them.
However, most of these people ordered custom three-star or Multi-attribute cards. To date, Sylas Sawyer was the only person who had commissioned a four-star card.
It was worth noting that this time, the in-person trading event was held on Phantom Street itself.
This time, however, the gathering felt more like a bustling market, a stark contrast to previous ones.
Right around this time, Joyce Lynch also finally completed the task involving one hundred attributeless cards and received a two-star card.
Since her identity as a player was already exposed, Perry Yates decided to use the remaining two days to purchase some supplies so as not to arouse suspicion.
"Preparing supplies" really just meant getting some food and clothing, along with a few tools and weapons.
For food, Perry Yates bought high-calorie items like candy and cake. As for clothing, she once again bought enough socks and underwear for thirty days of replacements.
She browsed as she walked. Since she wasn’t lacking anything in particular, she decided to treat it like a regular shopping spree, picking up whatever she liked without a second thought about the price.
Knowing the next game was water-related, Perry Yates also bought a couple of waterproof shells and raincoats.
Afterward, she spent a day at a water park, just to relax her mind.
Once she’d had her fill of fun, Perry Yates returned home. After getting everything ready and changing her clothes, she waited for the moment she would be pulled into the game.
As a familiar system voice sounded, the scene before Perry Yates’s eyes began to change.
Her home, empty save for herself just a moment ago, was suddenly filled with shadowy figures walking to and fro.
Having anticipated this, Perry Yates didn’t panic. She simply waited with a calm and composed expression.
