Chapter 33: Map
"Excellent."
To everyone’s surprise, Violet suddenly appeared beside the long-haired man and delivered a powerful kick to his head.
"Next time, don’t try it again."
She didn’t stop after kicking him. She stomped on his chest before stepping on the bald man’s chest as well.
Both of them coughed up mouthfuls of blood before losing consciousness.
The large-built supervisor could only freeze as he watched her actions.
As Violet walked past him, she said, "Am I in the wrong for beating up members of an evil organization that was stalking me?"
"No!" the supervisor answered immediately.
Of course, Violet wasn’t at fault if they truly belonged to such an organization rather than being mere paparazzi.
Even paparazzi deserved a beating if they dared play games with an Awakener.
"How did she find them?" people wondered.
That was the confusing part. The two men were clearly professionals, yet Violet had noticed they were tailing her.
"She’s an Assassin. It’s only natural that her instincts are sharper," someone replied.
"Just relying on instinct isn’t enough to notice stalkers, let alone find exactly where they’re hiding."
"Maybe she has extraordinary observation skills."
"That must be it."
"..."
Meanwhile, Violet entered the bar whose rooftop she had partially destroyed with her thrown axe.
Despite the commotion, not all of the customers had left. Many remained inside, quietly drinking while watching the spectacle.
She hadn’t chosen this bar without reason.
Its bartender was an old man famous for knowing countless things. More importantly, he possessed an original map that was considered the most detailed one showing hidden locations.
That was what Enzo had overheard from the beginners’ discussions inside the Monster Prison.
The old man was one of the Awakeners who had survived since the earliest era.
Although he had never achieved anything particularly remarkable, he had run this bar his entire life and interacted with countless people, giving him access to far more information than most.
As long as he was paid fairly, he was never stingy with either his knowledge or his map.
The old man wore a robe that concealed his thin frame. He was exceptionally tall—Violet only reached his chin.
His hair was completely white, and a smile never seemed to leave his face.
Violet walked straight toward him and sat down across from him.
"Miss, what would you like to drink? Wine or pure alcohol?" he asked.
"Pure alcohol," Violet answered.
Until now, Violet had never eaten or drunk anything.
Enzo had no idea how it would affect her.
That was why he wanted to try something extreme first.
"Are you sure, Miss? Even at Level 10, pure alcohol can leave you completely drunk. Aren’t you afraid someone might kidnap you while you’re unconscious?" the old man asked.
"Just give me what I ordered. I’ll pay, and I’ll also compensate you for the damage to your building," Violet replied.
"No, no need. Your first visit is on the house. And don’t worry about the building either—I never spent any money to get it in the first place," the old man said with a chuckle.
He placed a glass filled with ice in front of Violet before pouring in a clear liquid that looked like plain water but gave off an intensely bitter smell.
Violet immediately picked up the glass and drank it all in one gulp.
Enzo felt nothing at all.
Violet showed no reaction either.
Her complexion remained unchanged, and even her status data showed nothing unusual.
’Strange,’ Enzo thought.
Violet might have been created from his Talent, but she still possessed a completely human body.
How could pure alcohol have absolutely no effect on her?
After all, it could practically be considered a poison.
If alcohol didn’t work on her, perhaps every kind of poison was equally useless.
The only way to kill her might be by physically destroying her body.
She was no different from a robot.
A human-shaped robot.
"Are you all right?" the old man asked.
The lack of any reaction made him feel that something was off.
Violet merely smiled faintly.
"Old man, I want to learn about the Moba World from you. I’ve heard people say you know a great deal. Most importantly, I want to know which places can benefit me and which places I should avoid," she said calmly.
That confirmed she was perfectly fine.
"Would you like another drink?" the old man asked.
"You can keep refilling my glass as long as it’s free," Violet replied.
Hearing that, the old man could only roll his eyes before pouring her another full glass of pure alcohol.
"I don’t have much to offer, but if there’s something you want, I’ll do my best to provide it. Most importantly, give me useful information. I reached Level 10 in a single day, and I intend to reach Level 20 in two days," Violet added.
"Hahaha... Your ambition is enormous. Personally, I don’t think that’s possible at all. But take a look at this..."
The old man laughed before suddenly producing an ancient map drawn on a massive piece of hide.
Interestingly, the table between them—and even their chairs—suddenly rotated.
Their positions were instantly reversed.
Violet now sat where the bartender had been, while the old man found himself sitting in the customer’s seat.
The other patrons watching could only smile wryly.
Enzo hadn’t expected the old man to show Violet the map immediately without even mentioning payment, despite Violet asking for information.
First free drinks.
Now a free look at the map.
This really was the privilege of being a beautiful woman—something Enzo knew he would never enjoy.
Through the System screen, Enzo quickly captured the entire map without missing a single detail.
Others had always wanted to do the same, but the old man had never given them the opportunity.
"This is where we are," he said, pointing to a circular area marked with drawings of castles.
Not far above it, a river stretched from one end of the map to the other.
Very little remained visible beyond the river because the map had been torn there.
According to the old man, he had torn away the remaining portion himself.
"When it comes to the Moba World, there’s simply too much to explain. We probably don’t have enough time. Basically, once you leave Sanctuary One, you’ll arrive at the River of Death. It’s best not to try crossing it before reaching Level 20," he said.
"Is that the standard for everyone?" Violet asked.
"It’s the general standard. As for you, you can judge your own limits."
"I see..." Violet nodded.
"Tell me where I should go if I want to find the best opportunities," she said.
