Chapter 30: Not Enough

DING!

(Your character has killed a Level 13 Monster. You and your character have gained 15,000 EXP!)

(You have gained 300 SP!)

[Level: 10]

[EXP: 70,000/100,000]

[SP: 710]

Enzo frowned as he looked at the notification.

Fifteen thousand EXP was certainly a huge amount.

However, it was still far from enough for him to level up.

At this rate, Violet would have to kill at least Level 15 Monsters.

BANG!

The Fire Goblin collapsed to the ground.

Unlike before, however, no sphere of light appeared this time.

Enzo shook his head and sent Violet to the next cell, beginning a massacre.

With a level gap of one or two levels, there simply wasn’t a single monster capable of standing against her.

One after another, she slaughtered every monster in every cell until none remained alive.

Even so, it still wasn’t enough to level up.

[Level: 10]

[EXP: 90,000/100,000]

[SP: 910]

’Looks like I can only continue outside the Sanctuary,’ Enzo thought.

Of course, he couldn’t send Violet out immediately.

The continuous battles had exhausted her.

Violet promptly left the underground floor, and Enzo sent her back to the castle to rest.

With that done, he stood up inside his guard post, stretched his body, then lay back down while continuing to stare at his SP total.

He had two Gacha options—one for himself and one for Violet.

He wondered which one he should choose.

The rewards from the Gacha were generally tailored to the user.

If it granted a skill and he used it on himself, then it would be a skill that suited his Gamer Talent.

’I’ll roll for Violet first. I’m still perfectly satisfied with things as they are,’ Enzo thought.

He didn’t hesitate for long.

"Full roll."

DING!

(You have used 910 System Points to perform a Gacha roll for your character, Violet Muller!)

The notification appeared.

At the same time, his System screen began flashing.

The number 60 appeared.

A second later, it became 59.

The countdown continued.

The Gacha roll would last exactly one minute.

Enzo couldn’t help feeling nervous.

With 910 SP, getting a reward was almost guaranteed.

The only uncertainty was whether it would be something valuable... or something mediocre.

He hoped for the best.

An S-Class Skill, for example.

DING!

(Gacha complete! Your character has obtained the S-Class Skill: Instant Death!)

(Instant Death: A skill that kills with nothing more than killing intent. Targets struck by your killing intent will die instantly if they are weaker than you, making it ideal for slaughtering large numbers of weaker enemies. If the target is strong enough to resist the skill, their combat power will be drastically reduced for as long as the skill remains active!)

[Name: Violet Muller]

[Level: 10]

[EXP: 90,000/100,000]

[Talent:]

Super Assassin (S)

[Skills:]

Invisible (S)

Mana Thread (A+)

Instant Death (S)

Enzo froze as he stared at the notification.

His very first Gacha...

It had actually given him an S-Class Skill.

It was hard to believe it was real.

"Violet just became even more overpowered," he muttered.

In truth, a skill like this was beyond anything he had imagined.

He immediately understood just how terrifying it was.

Against weaker opponents, there would no longer be any need to make a move.

A single killing intent would be enough.

Enzo’s mood instantly became even brighter.

He looked toward the prison cells outside his guard post.

Today, it seemed there would be even more corpses for him to clean up.

Oddly enough, he actually felt excited to get to work.

Several cells had already been emptied.

He stood up and walked out of the guard post, even though the prison was still bustling with people.

No one paid any attention to him until he entered one of the cells containing ten Goblin corpses.

That cell alone had already gone through five different groups of newcomers.

"That’s Charles Muller’s son..."

Enzo immediately overheard someone talking about him.

He couldn’t care less.

The relaxed expression on his face made it obvious just how good his mood was today.

He worked leisurely, as though he were nothing more than an ordinary person.

People expected him to tire out soon.

However, with his Vitality having reached 37, there was no way simple physical labor could exhaust him.

After finishing one cell, he moved on to the next.

Some of the newcomers began leaving to rest and recover their stamina, while Enzo continued working.

Three hours later, every single cell was spotless once again.

Enzo wasn’t tired in the slightest.

After finishing his work, he lit a cigarette and casually sat down on one of the nearby chairs.

Of course, he had his own thoughts, and before long, he found himself lost in them.

He wondered if he would spend the rest of his life playing the role of a failure.

"What are you thinking about?"

He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Bella’s voice.

She was already standing beside him, carrying a large plastic bag.

"I bought lunch from Nectar & Core Restaurant. Let’s eat together in your guard post," she said without waiting for him to answer her question.

"Why didn’t you just eat at the restaurant?" Enzo asked as he stood up.

The aroma of the food inside the bag drifted out, instantly making him hungry.

"I couldn’t bear the thought of you eating here all by yourself," Bella replied.

"Come on, do I really look that pitiful? I’d already be happy just having someone bring me food," he said.

"Enough talking. I’m starving. Open the guard post door already," Bella said as she pulled Enzo toward the entrance, which only he could unlock.

Enzo opened the door.

Just like before, everyone who witnessed the scene couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable.

Although they had already heard from the newcomers from Z City that the two were cousins...

...weren’t cousins sometimes capable of doing rather questionable things as well?

If Bella had been just another ordinary, unremarkable girl, no one would have cared.

But she was a stunning blonde beauty with almost no equal among the newcomers.

There were a few girls who were just as beautiful as she was, but they still fell short in terms of charm because none of them possessed a figure as captivating as hers.
