Chapter 24: A Skill
Two minutes later, the gorilla’s crimson aura finally disappeared completely.
Violet immediately made her move while remaining in Invisible mode, slipping behind the gorilla.
Even at her maximum speed, she produced no sound or gust of wind.
The higher her Agility became, the smoother and more silent her movements were.
Her sword thrust into the gorilla’s back.
With its body covered in thick muscles, the gorilla’s flesh was incredibly tough.
Enzo estimated that if Violet’s Strength were cut in half, even with a sword, she wouldn’t have been able to pierce its body.
However, with their combined Strength, the blade easily pierced through its flesh and reached its chest—all while she remained invisible.
The spectators only saw a hole suddenly appear in the gorilla’s massive chest.
Only when Violet revealed herself did they realize what had happened.
"It’s over... just like that."
"If she wanted to, she could kill any one of us."
"This is an S-Class Assassin Talent... It’s far too terrifying. She could probably assassinate someone without leaving a single trace."
BANG!
The gorilla’s enormous body crashed heavily onto the floor.
There was no way it could survive after having its heart pierced.
DING!
(Your character has killed a Level 10 Monster. You and your character have gained 2,500 EXP!)
(You have obtained 100 SP!)
[Name: Enzo Muller]
[Level: 5]
[EXP: 5,400/5,500]
[SP: 250]
"Damn it..." Violet cursed, echoing Enzo’s own thoughts.
Even after a Level 5 Awakener killed a Level 10 Monster, it still wasn’t enough to level up.
"Hm?"
Violet was suddenly startled as a sphere of light emerged from the gorilla’s chest.
"An item..."
The spectators were equally stunned.
"The gorilla dropped an item!"
"She’s so lucky."
As long as they weren’t Goblins or other low-tier monsters, monsters naturally had a chance to drop items, much like a Gacha reward.
Even weak monsters could occasionally drop incredibly valuable items, though higher-level monsters naturally had a much better chance of dropping high-grade rewards.
External Powers, Weapons, Equipment, Skills, and even Talents could all appear as drops.
There had even been cases where S-Class Talents were obtained from monsters—treasures so priceless that no one had ever dared put a price tag on them.
Violet quickly grabbed the sphere of light.
It dispersed, revealing an item resting in her palm—a book whose cover depicted a countless blue threads.
DING!
(You have obtained an A+ Class General Skill Book: Mana Thread. This skill allows you to transform your Mana Energy into countless threads, the number depending on how much Mana Energy you expend. These threads can manipulate anything, provided your physical strength is sufficient!)
The notification appeared, causing Enzo’s eyes to light up.
It was actually a Skill.
An A+ Class Skill, no less.
Talents did not have an A+ rank, but Skills did.
More importantly, it was a General Skill.
Basically, Skill Books were divided into two categories: General and Special.
Special Skills could only be learned by those with specific Talents.
General Skills, on the other hand, could be learned regardless of one’s Talent.
"Absorb it."
Enzo immediately had Violet absorb the Skill Book.
The process required dripping blood onto its cover.
Since Violet couldn’t feel pain, she bit the tip of her finger without hesitation, letting a drop of blood fall onto the Skill Book.
The book instantly dissolved into light and flew into her head.
DING!
(Your character, Violet, has learned an A+-Class Skill: Mana Thread!)
[Skills:]
Invisible (S)
Mana Thread (A+)
’If that’s the case, then not leveling up doesn’t matter at all,’ Enzo thought with a faint smile.
In his opinion, this Skill suited Violet perfectly.
In fact, it might be an ideal match.
Combined with Invisible, the Mana Threads would become virtually impossible to detect, making them even more deadly.
