Chapter 13: Level 4

DING!

(Your character has killed a Level 7 Monster. You and your character have gained 600 EXP!)

(You and your character now have 1,400 EXP and have leveled up to Level 4!)

(Your Agility has increased from 17 to 27!)

(Violet’s Agility has increased from 20 to 25!)

(Violet’s Intelligence has increased from 13 to 18!)

[Name: Enzo Muller]

[Level: 4]

[EXP: 1,400/2,500]

[Strength: 14] [Agility: 27] [Intelligence: 15] [Vitality: 12]

[Name: Violet Muller]

[Level: 4]

[EXP: 1,400/2,500]

[Strength: 16] [Agility: 25] [Intelligence: 18] [Vitality: 10]

’What the hell... Agility again...’

Enzo rolled his eyes.

Twice now, Agility was the only Attribute that had increased for him.

His Agility was even two points higher than Violet’s.

Purely in terms of physical movement speed, he was now actually faster than she was.

Of course, once Violet activated her Talent, she’d become vastly faster—up to three times faster.

Fortunately, the battle had been brief.

Violet only needed to take a few deep breaths before returning to normal.

She could still keep fighting thanks to the Vitality she was borrowing from Enzo.

However, after defeating the strongest Goblin on this floor, Enzo knew leveling up through Goblins alone would become much slower.

After all, reaching Level 5 required another 1,100 EXP.

He wasn’t in a hurry to send Violet into the underground level.

Reaching Level 4 on the first day was already more than satisfying, even for someone as eager to grow stronger as he was.

Under Enzo’s control, Violet walked out of the cell before leaving the prison building altogether, attracting attention the moment she stepped outside.

"Miss."

She had barely taken a few steps when someone called out to her, making her frown.

It was the same young man from before.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Waylon Brown, from the Brown Family of New York City."

Waylon Brown.

With the surname Brown, it was no surprise he resembled Augus Brown.

"Did I ask?" Violet replied.

Waylon’s companions exchanged awkward glances.

This woman was truly cold and indifferent.

After all, back in New York, there wasn’t a single woman who would dare brush Waylon aside like this.

"Ahem..."

Waylon cleared his throat, trying to maintain his composure.

"Miss Muller, once all of us reach Level 10, we’ll be allowed to leave the Sanctuary, but we’ll also be required to form teams of four. I’m here to sincerely ask you to let me join your team. I possess two A-Class Talents, one of which is a healing-type Talent."

"You want to follow me?"

Violet sounded slightly surprised—a reaction that naturally came from Enzo.

"Yes. I’m prepared to support our team with my family’s resources. The Brown Family is one of the wealthiest in New York, and we also have several powerful Awakeners, including my older brother, who possesses an S-Class Talent just like you."

"Oh? And what can you offer me?"

"An A-Class weapon, without question."

"Only A-Class?"

Violet shook her head.

"I’ll receive an A+ Class weapon once I reach Level 10. So I don’t really need another weapon. What I might need is an A+ Class External Power. Can you provide me with one?"

"An... A+ External Power?"

The confidence on Waylon’s face immediately disappeared.

Although A+ was still considered part of A-Class, it possessed characteristics comparable to S-Class items.

Such items were extraordinarily rare and expensive.

Very few people would casually give one away, especially an External Power, which was even harder to obtain than a weapon.

"Useless."

Violet snorted coldly before walking away.

Waylon’s face reddened as he suppressed his anger.

"Waylon, that woman’s unbelievably arrogant. She doesn’t even respect you," one of his friends said.

"Yeah, forget about following her. I’m afraid she’d just keep taking advantage of you," another added.

"Idiots. Who said I wanted to follow her?" Waylon snapped.

His companions stared at him in surprise.

Then they noticed where his sharp gaze was directed.

He was staring at Violet’s backside.

It instantly became obvious what he was really after.

She dressed like a man and carried herself like one.

But there was no denying her beautiful face or her alluring figure.

Violet entered a district within the Sanctuary filled with ancient, artistically designed castles.

After locating the number assigned to hers, she walked inside and quietly sat down in the living room.

Phew...

Back at the outpost, Enzo let out a long breath.

He couldn’t simply make Violet disappear.

Sending her to the castle had been his only option.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to do anything himself.

He stood up, stretched his body, and walked toward the door.

It was time to get to work.

It shouldn’t be too difficult.

He was already a Level 4 Awakener, so his physical abilities were far from weak.

"Enzo..."

Bella, who still hadn’t left, walked over to him.

Only fewer than ten people remained in the prison.

He had no idea why they were still here.

"Why are you still here?" Enzo asked.

"I’m going to help you with your work. If you’re doing it alone, it’ll take forever," Bella replied.

"No, there’s no need. I can handle it myself. Go have lunch instead."

He shook his head.

"How can I go eat while you’re stuck cleaning Goblin corpses? Besides, I’ve already reached Level 1. My Strength increased a lot—I can easily drag those bodies around. Come on, let’s start with the cells that have the most corpses. I can’t enter unless I’m with you."

Enzo scratched his head.

This girl was unbelievably persistent.

"You’re only Level 1, while I’m already Level 4. I can finish this quickly. If anything, you’ll just slow me down."

"What did you just say?"

Bella looked at him as though she’d misheard.

"Enzo... have you started making things up?" she asked, convinced there was nothing wrong with her hearing.

The only thing wrong was the ridiculous statement she’d just heard.

"Why don’t you check for yourself?" Enzo replied.

With the System’s assistance, an Awakener could inspect another person’s level by spending 1 SP.

For 5 SP, they could even see the target’s complete Attribute values.

Only Talents, Skills, and External Powers remained hidden.

Hearing that, Bella frowned.

A moment later...

Her eyes flew wide open.
