Chapter 488: Daily Life Of Daddy.
The Cardinal Family got dressed, Leo was the last to get ready after the shower and everything, because he had to look after the twins and also cook the meal for Lily. Today, they had a few things to do, Lily would be promoted to the first grade, and he had to visit the school to get her documentations sorted and sign on the official documents.
Another thing was to meet with the neighbor whose property he was going to buy and sign the transfer deed. Then he would need to have look after the twins at home and play with them because he could not just ignore them daily. That was not what he wanted to do. The young man sighed, he watched Snow getting busy as soon as she sat down on the dining table and then she went out of the house with her assistant. However, just when she was about to cross the threshold, she came back and gave him a kiss.
Leo sighed, he knew this was the way his wife was making up for the anticipatory crime of not looking after herself, but he didn’t stop her. Lily came over to his side and asked, "Baba, would you come to school first?"
Leo nodded gently and said, "Yes, your things are much more important than anything else. Come, I will come over to meet your new principal and then go for another meeting."
Lily nodded, but at this moment the young man said, "I will take the twins out today, they have been staying home far too long."
Lily nodded in agreement, she wanted to go out with Leo as well, but the sad fact was, that she had school to attend. Leo told her to wait and then he went upstairs before he put them all in his sling and then the family headed out in the sigil embossed car. Kyle was the driver, and Leo asked, "Jock and the rest, when will they be coming over?"
Kyle replied, "Chief Markus said it was better for him to stay there and handle things there, it was not necessary for them to come over here since we will have the other team from the government as well, however, there are a lot of things at the house so they should protect it."
Leo thought for a bit and then he nodded, after all, Markus was not a security head for nothing. There was a chance that some people might try to attack the house or rob it. Nobody knew how crazy humans can be. While they were talking Lily asked, "Uncle Kyle, when do you think you will be going ahead to propose to Aunt June? Or do you want her to stay single for another year?"
Kyle shivered and replied, "Young Miss, I will be asking her when she comes here, I had ordered a ring and now that ring is ready. I was only waiting for that."
Lily nodded in satisfaction and said, "You are smarter than Uncle Elvin, I swear, had it not been me, that man would still be single."
The young man took a deep breath and smiled, he knew that Lily cared for him, and was thankful for it. They reached the school, and Leo walked in with the children in his arms. Many students saw this, some girls even smiled at the twins and Lily, well, the trio was adorable, but some senior students couldn’t help but check out Leo, thankfully they all noticed the Sigil Pin on his lapel and also Lily’s lapel. The students in this school were called the cream of the capital, not because they came from big families but because they were up to date on what was happening outside, and since that was the case, how could they not recognize Leo?
The young man sighed, after a few minutes, they reached the principal’s office, and Leo knocked at the table outside. The peon raised his head to look at Leo and asked, "Hello, how can I help you?"
Leo replied calmly, "My name is Leo Cardinal, I have come to settle the transfer my daughter from Angkor City branch to here. Can you guide me to the principal?"
The peon stood up and said, "Please wait a moment, I will check with the principal."
That said, the peon stood up and knocked on the door and after someone spoke, he went inside and came out shortly. He smiled at Leo and said, "You can go in, Sir."
Leo thanked the peon and went inside the room with a calm stride. On the other side, a middle-aged woman was standing with her hands crossed in front of her chest. She smiled and said, "Hello, Mister Cardinal."
Leo nodded and reached out to shake her hand before she led him to sit down on the couch. She saw the twins were tied up in a sling, but before she could say anything. Leo skillfully took off the sling and asked, "Would it be alright if I let them wander in your office? They have been tied up for too long."
The lady didn’t mind and nodded, they had a small talk, and the principal asked Lily a few questions, the young miss replied to everything with a smile and wit. The principal was won over, and then they signed the documents before the principal personally took Lily to her classroom. Leo didn’t stay for long, after meeting with Lily’s class teacher, he decided to head back and, on the way, he called, June, who connected him with Cail, the neighbor.
The call was connected rather quickly, and the other person spoke, "Greetings, President Cardinal."
Leo smiled and replied, "Thank you for accommodating me like this, Mister Cail."
Cail chuckled and replied, "Lord Cardinal, please don’t shame me like this. I am just a businessman and the mansion was bought as an investment some ten years ago for the price of a nail. At the moment, I have some tight funding issues for the capital chain so I thought it would be better to sale this house. Since you want to buy it, I am willing to sale it to you on market price. I assure you the house is clean."
Leo understood and replied, "No, I am not worried about that Mister Cail. I was wondering if you would like to sign the agreement and the deed transfer."
The other person agreed and said, "We can meet for lunch in the same house, it would be my farewell dinner."
Leo chuckled and said, "Very well, I will be there. However, I wouldn’t be able to drink liquor because I have to look after my children."
Cail chuckled as he said, "No problem at all."
After saying that, the call was disconnected, and Leo looked at Elena and Julian in his arms, and the girl said, "Baba where are we going?"
Leo smiled and replied, "We are going for shopping. We need a new house so we are going to finalize the deal about that."
Elena turned to look at Julian and said, "How many houses that is now? One in the old city."
Julian said, "One in the mountains."
Elena continued where he left, "One where we are staying."
Julian said, "One which Baba wants to buy."
The twins didn’t yet know how to count, but Leo smiled and said, "The one place where we live is not our house, it is just a place that was given by the people of the nation to your mother so that she could work for them."
Yes, it was not that simple but since they were children, he had to make them understand in the simple terminology and he was not wrong anyhow, the houses where the government officials or the ministers lived were maintained by tax money. So, it was something that people gave them.
The twins nodded, and soon the car arrived at the neighboring mansion where Kyle pressed a button on the intercom and said, "Mister Cardinal for Mister Cail."
The automated doors opened with a buzz, and then they moved inside the mansion. Elena and Julian were curios on what the place looked like, and as soon as they looked outside the window slowly, they clapped, the garden had many flowers, but more importantly it had a couple of Jade Peacocks, they were white in color and looked like something that came out of story books. Elena asked, "Baba what is that?"
Leo told them what it was and Julian said, "They would be good friends with Dumpling and Wonton."
Yes, these were the names of their cats. Leo smiled wryly, and thanked the ancestors for the children to have normal thought process, but he was a bit too quick and Elena said, "What friends? I am afraid Momo would hunt them in the night. She loves to chase after birds and is very strong too."
Momo was Lily’s shadow guard but she did come to play with the twins as well, so they knew that Momo was a foodie.
