Chapter 260: Hajin’s Answer
The final golden line loosened when another healer took pressure beneath the militia recruit’s ribs.
Hajin kept the seal closed until a clinic runner reached the irrigation cut carrying Vella’s treatment strip.
"All six are stable without your channel," she said, holding the marked page above the road, "Vella wants her gold back before you empty it."
He released the contract path, allowing the remaining healing mana to return toward the clinic instead of answering her complaint.
Both exterior Rings faded when Aegis closed, then Hajin returned the Chain anchor to his inventory before crossing.
Hans left eight shields around Elise plus Sable while Marrick’s runners prepared both bodies for the town record.
The Gate still pressed across the ravine, though no brood marker remained between its surface and the inner mountain.
"Jonas and Toby keep the outer banks," Cassie said, checking the guild badge beneath her coat, "two bells means they leave without waiting."
"You are coming as the registered witness," Hajin replied, turning toward the portal, "Hans records the militia side, while Juna and Loccy saw the apex outside."
Hans adjusted his spear beneath his remaining arm, then limped past Hajin before anyone offered another frame.
Loccy could lift her hammer again, but her arms still shook whenever the head left the ground.
She dismissed the weapon before crossing, saving whatever strength remained after Burdenfall instead of dragging it through the channel.

Juna closed all three Wings near the entrance, keeping the Solar markings beneath her sleeves while she followed.
The opaque surface gave them nothing until each person crossed, then the cleared entrance chamber opened around them.
Cassie’s earth banks remained inside the lowest approach, holding three dead hounds away from the retreat path.
They followed Hajin through the channel until the final ledge revealed the valley plus its inner mountain.
Hans stopped beside the gallery wall, staring upward until the summit disappeared inside purple cloud.
"You said mountain outside," he muttered, planting his spear near the ledge, "I thought you were shortening the explanation."
"That was the short part," Hajin replied, looking across the valley, "stay behind Aegis even if the ledge moves."
One golden Ring returned around his right wrist before the barrier covered the gallery opening.
Cassie touched the surface with her staff, feeling the barrier extend into both sides of the surrounding wall.
"The guild will ask where I stood," she said, keeping her badge visible, "I am recording this recess plus the full valley view."
Hajin opened the Stream from inside the gallery, keeping its view on the valley while he disabled chat over the seam.
He gave Cassie the position without adding instructions, then descended from the gallery alone.
The stripped apex waited across the lower slope where Vella’s severed tethers entered the mountain seam.
Its throat remained open beneath missing armor, exposing the break Loccy had left through the root-covered bone.
Purple mana still reached it from the mother, but each pulse leaked through the tissue Vella had destroyed.
Divine Eye brought back the circuit flare, following the natural load path from the foundation toward the hidden summit.
The line crossed behind the apex before climbing through the mountain, giving Hajin one angle through both targets.
He summoned the damaged Chain from his inventory directly into his right hand.
Two more golden Rings joined the first around the same wrist, rotating faster as his full output entered every link.

[ Condition: Damaged ]
[ Eclipse Lash: Available ]
Dark-gold mana moved through the Chain without repairing its worn links, forcing several to pull out of alignment.
"Give me the peak at the seam," Hajin said, keeping Divine Eye on the exposed route, "not the rating for breaking the whole mountain."
Aria narrowed the calculation until the mountain became one load path instead of a single block.

"Eclipse Lash can push the contact point into ten-Shard output for one release," she replied, placing a brief gold marker across the seam, "your three Rings cannot sustain that output afterward."
"One is enough," he said, wrapping the final length across his palm without touching the damaged edges.
The apex left the slope when his third Ring stabilized, crossing the valley faster than its earlier charge outside.
Each leaking pulse from the mother drove it forward, spending the circuit faster because no support brood remained.
Hajin waited until its open throat covered the marked seam, leaving the gallery outside the strike line.
The Chain shortened behind his right shoulder as every link filled with gold plus the corruption it had already survived.
[ Skill Activated: Eclipse Lash ]
[ Peak Output Window: Single Strike ]
He swung through the apex instead of striking down, sending the full Chain across the mountain’s exposed brace.
The first link entered the broken throat, carrying a dark-gold line through its spine before the body passed him.
Every following link struck the same cut without widening toward the gallery or the rooted mother.
The apex separated across the chest, with both halves continuing several paces before falling on opposite sides of Hajin.
Eclipse Lash entered the mountain behind it, tracing Vella’s seam from the lowest foundation toward the hidden summit.
The face opened along that route, sending one dark-gold fracture upward through ridges plus layers of natural rock.
Purple cloud split above the valley as the fracture reached the summit, leaving open sky between both sides.
The eastern face started falling toward the buried mother while broken ledges poured into the valley beneath it.
Hajin released Eclipse Lash before the final link left the seam, turning all three Rings toward Aegis instead.
The gallery barrier expanded across the ledge, then curved around Hans, Cassie, Juna, and Loccy as the valley shook.
A second Aegis plane formed beneath the falling face, denying its path toward the mother’s fixed core route.
Rock pressed through the barrier for several feet before sliding west into the empty half of the valley.
The redirected mountain face struck beyond the lowest nests, covering the ground where the brood circuit had already died.
Cassie’s staff remained against the gallery shield while she watched the summit settle into two separate peaks.
Hans looked from the split mountain toward Hajin, then checked the ledge beneath his feet before speaking.
"The recess held," he said, raising his voice above the falling stone, "all four of us saw the strike enter from the valley."
"I have the same account," Cassie replied, gripping her guild badge, "the mountain broke after his Chain entered the seam."
No one outside could see through the Gate, but everyone behind Aegis had crossed before the strike began.
The apex’s separated core stopped pulsing near Hajin as the last purple reinforcement failed to reach it.
[ Corrupted Apex Eliminated ]

[ EXP Gained: 4,400,000 ]
[ Ring IV Progress: 13,920,000 / 25,000,000 EXP ]
[ Summon Participation Confirmed: Loccy ]
[ Participation EXP: 4,400,000 ]
[ Loccy Wing Progress: 4,620,000 / 7,500,000 ]
Loccy’s earlier Burdenfall strike had opened its throat plus forced the retreat, giving the system a valid damage record.
Her three Wings flashed once behind the gallery barrier before folding back into her recovering body.
Hajin lowered the Chain after the mountain stopped shifting, finding every link still present despite new fractures across the damaged metal.
The weapon remained Rare, while no evolution notice appeared beneath its condition screen.
His three Rings continued rotating around his right wrist, but their output had dropped below the peak Aria recorded.
Divine Eye passed through the opened mountain face, finding the stationary mother exposed beneath the separated summit.
Its fused body responded by pulling one limb free from the core chamber wall.
