Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Who Says We Don’t Have Evidence?

As Hu Yan and the others rushed back, they ran right into Xing Fan and Xiang Ling, who were searching everywhere with members of the Female Alliance.

Seeing the grave expressions on Xing Fan and Xiang Ling as they spoke with the Female Alliance members, Hu Yan hurried over. "What’s wrong? Where’s Bai Zhi?"

Xing Fan recognized Hu Yan as the Beastman who had accompanied Bai Zhi to the auction. "You’re back?" she asked in surprise.

She then quickly explained the situation to Hu Yan.

Hearing Xing Fan’s explanation, Yue Junxiao, who was standing nearby, couldn’t hold back. "Kidnapped?" he demanded. "How could she have been kidnapped?!"

In response to Yue Junxiao’s frantic questions, one of the Female Alliance members looked toward Hu Yan and his companions. "And these gentlemen are?" she asked.

Hu Yan gave a slight nod to the Female Alliance member. "Hello, I’m Hu Yan, Bai Zhi’s first Beast Husband. These are Yue Junxiao, Yan Yichen, Lang Qiu, and Sang Mo. They are also Bai Zhi’s Beast Husbands. We just got back from a group hunt in Zone B. He’s a bit emotional after hearing that Bai Zhi was kidnapped, I hope you’ll excuse him."

The Female Alliance member nodded. "Understandable."

After the Female Alliance left, Xing Fan seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. "I’m so glad you’re back," she said. "This is your neighbor, Xiang Ling. We’re the ones who reported this to the Female Alliance."

Hu Yan nodded at Xiang Ling. "Thank you for your help. You can leave the rest to us now."

Xiang Ling replied readily, "If you need any help, just say the word. I have a few connections on Blue Star, and since I’m right next door, it’s easy for us to coordinate."

Xing Fan added, "That’s right. We’re Bai Zhi’s friends. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need anything."

Hu Yan replied, "Okay. We won’t hesitate."

As soon as Xing Fan and Xiang Ling had left, Yue Junxiao demanded, "What now? We’re not just going to sit here and wait, are we?"

Yan Yichen held Yue Junxiao back. "Don’t interrupt Hu Yan. He’s thinking."

Hu Yan said, "There is a better way."

Hearing this, not just Yue Junxiao but all the others turned to look at him. "What is it?"

Hu Yan looked at them. "You remember the conversation Yan Yichen overheard, right? If I’m not mistaken, the person who arranged to have us delayed was Yun Xi’s first Beast Husband, Han Yu. Among all the people Bai Zhi has offended, he’s the only one with the resources to plant people inside the hunting grounds like that. The reason Yun Xi had him just delay us, rather than act directly, was most likely to avoid implicating him."
