Chapter 226: YOU DON’T LOOK WELL AT ALL
Liuxian’s expression changed almost immediately.
Before Guiying had the chance to say another word, Liuxian gently slipped one arm around his shoulders while the other carefully supported his back. His movements remained steady and unhurried, though the concern in his eyes had become impossible to conceal.
"We’re leaving now."
His voice stayed calm.
"There isn’t any reason to wait until nine if your condition is getting worse."
Uncle Li nodded in immediate agreement.
"I’ll pack breakfast so Young Master Guiying can eat on the way if he feels better later."
He turned without another word, moving quickly toward the kitchen while quietly instructing the other staff to prepare a light meal and a thermos of warm water.
Guiying slowly closed his eyes.
The dizziness lingered for several more moments before gradually easing enough for him to steady his breathing. He leaned lightly against Liuxian, waiting until the room finally stopped spinning before opening his eyes once more.
"I’m alright."
His voice remained softer than usual.

"It already passed."
Liuxian looked at him for several silent seconds.
"You’ve said that three times this morning."
Guiying lowered his eyes.
None of the reassurance he had offered since waking up had lasted very long. Every time he convinced himself he was getting better, another wave of dizziness quietly returned before reminding him otherwise.
He couldn’t even bring himself to argue.
Liuxian gently brushed several loose strands of hair away from Guiying’s forehead before resting the back of his fingers there.
The fever had eased.
That much was obvious.
Yet Guiying’s complexion remained noticeably paler than usual, and even sitting upright seemed to require more effort than it normally would.
"Can you eat?"
Guiying lowered his eyes toward the untouched bowl of porridge.
He genuinely wanted to say yes, but the moment the warm aroma drifted toward him, his stomach unexpectedly tightened. He instinctively turned his face away before the nausea rising inside him had the chance to become any stronger.
Liuxian quietly noticed the small movement.
"You don’t feel like eating?"
Guiying slowly shook his head.
"My stomach suddenly feels uncomfortable."
He lightly pressed two fingers against his temple before letting out a quiet breath.
"I don’t think I can eat right now."
Uncle Li returned carrying an insulated food container together with a neatly packed breakfast bag.
His eyes quietly moved between the untouched bowl and Guiying before he smiled reassuringly.
"That’s alright."
"If he can’t eat now, he can always eat later."
Liuxian nodded before carefully slipping one arm beneath Guiying’s knees and the other around his back.
The moment Guiying felt himself being lifted, he instinctively wrapped an arm around Liuxian’s neck before looking up at him with a helpless smile.

"You really aren’t going to let me walk."
Liuxian adjusted his hold before meeting Guiying’s eyes.
"You can’t walk properly, the least I can do is carry you.."
His answer came without the slightest hesitation.
"I’m not taking any chances."
Guiying quietly laughed.
"You really are stubborn."
Liuxian’s expression softened ever so slightly.
"I learned from you."
The smile lingering on Guiying’s face became a little warmer before he relaxed comfortably against Liuxian’s shoulder, allowing himself to be carried out of the dining room without protesting again.
By the time they reached the front entrance, Peng Guoqing had already driven the car beneath the covered porch.
The moment he saw Liuxian carrying Guiying instead of walking beside him, he immediately stepped out before opening the rear door without waiting to be instructed.
"Young Master."
Liuxian gave a brief nod before carefully helping Guiying into the back seat.
"The hospital."
Guoqing immediately understood.
"Yes, sir."
The car quietly pulled away from the estate.
Morning traffic had only just begun filling the roads, leaving the city noticeably calmer than it would become later in the day. Sunlight gradually spread across the streets while shops slowly opened for business, yet inside the car, neither of them paid much attention to the scenery passing outside.
Guiying quietly rested his head against Liuxian’s shoulder.
Liuxian adjusted the blanket Uncle Li had packed before gently covering Guiying’s legs, making sure he remained comfortable throughout the drive.
"Are you cold?"
Guiying slowly shook his head.
"No."
He remained quietly looking out the window for several moments before speaking again.
"I’ve been thinking."
Liuxian waited patiently.
Guiying’s fingers slowly tightened around the blanket resting across his lap.
"I’ve gone through heat before."

He lowered his eyes before quietly continuing.
"But this doesn’t feel anything like the others. I’m genuinely scared.."
Liuxian gently intertwined their fingers.
"We’ll know what’s happening soon."
Guiying nodded.
"I know."
The remainder of the drive passed quietly.
Nearly half an hour later, Guoqing slowly guided the car beneath the hospital’s covered entrance before bringing it to a gentle stop.
Liuxian stepped out first before turning back toward Guiying.
"Can you stand?"
Guiying carefully tested his footing after stepping out of the car.
The dizziness had eased again.
"I think so."
Liuxian still offered his arm.
Guiying accepted it without hesitation.
The two of them quietly entered the hospital together before making their way toward the reception desk.
The receptionist immediately recognized Liuxian.
"Good morning, Mr. Liu."
She smiled politely before checking the appointment schedule on her computer.
"Dr. Gu is expecting you."
She stood up from her seat before walking around the reception counter.
"I’ll take you upstairs."
Liuxian gave a small nod before supporting Guiying as they followed her toward the private elevator reserved for senior consultants. The elevator quietly carried them to the top clinical floor before opening directly into the specialist consultation area.
The receptionist led them along the quiet corridor before eventually stopping outside a consultation room.
She gently knocked twice.
"Dr. Gu."

"Mr. Liu and Young Master Xue are here."
"Please send them in."
Yanchen’s voice came calmly from inside.
The receptionist stepped aside before opening the door.
Liuxian gently guided Guiying into the consultation room.
Yanchen looked up from the medical file resting on his desk, the teasing smile that had been lingering on his face disappearing almost immediately the moment his eyes landed on Guiying.
He slowly rose from his chair.
His brows gradually drew together as he quietly studied Guiying’s complexion.
"...Guiying."
Yanchen walked around the desk without another word.
By the time he stopped in front of them, every trace of amusement had completely vanished from his face.
"You don’t look well at all."
