Chapter 181: Chapter 137: Are You Doing This on Purpose?
The Goblin Priest panicked. Several Bronze Level Goblins swarmed in, attempting to cover its escape.
The tunnel was narrow, making it difficult for Shefilya to bypass them. She acted with lightning speed, pulling flying knives from a pouch at her waist with her left hand. Pinching one between each finger, she threw them all at once.
The flying knives surged with powerful Qi and Blood. At the same time, Shefilya let out a sharp cry, "Sky-Breaking Stab!"
With pinpoint accuracy, the four flying knives struck four Bronze Goblins. A series of wretched screams followed as all four—two Level 3 and two Level 4—were killed in a single instant!
Shefilya, meanwhile, pressed her pursuit.
The Goblin Priest could only brandish its Magic Staff, creating a pitch-black barrier.
The next moment, Shefilya’s attack struck the barrier, instantly covering it in a web of fine cracks.
A single blow nearly shattered its "turtle shell"!
As Shefilya made her move, Lin Mo looked over. He ignored the pursuing Goblin Warrior and rushed over at top speed.
The Goblin Warrior, though frantic, was no match for Lin Mo’s speed. It could only watch helplessly as its Priest burst from the tunnel. Just as the Priest was about to flee, a pitch-black long sword suddenly appeared and ran it through the chest.
The Goblin Priest let out a series of wretched howls, and several more Bronze Goblins swarmed in to surround them.
Two Goblin Knights and one Ranger Goblin—the very one that had ambushed Lin Mo earlier. Each was Level 4!

Counting the ones already killed, the one still in pursuit, and the two Shefilya had just dispatched, this Goblin Army had a staggering seven Level 4 Bronze Goblins in its ranks alone!
Shefilya burst out of the tunnel right after, appearing at Lin Mo’s side in an instant. With a flying knife in hand, she parried an arrow from the Goblin Ranger.
The other two Goblin Knights tried to protect their leader, but Shefilya blocked their path.
Lin Mo seized the opportunity. With a vicious glint in his eyes, he gave the Goblin Priest no chance to retaliate. Instead of pulling the Black Sword out, he dragged it sideways through the wound, brutally slicing the creature in half at the waist!
[Sword Charge Strike]!
Three consecutive blasts of Sword Qi erupted from within the Goblin Priest’s body, dicing its corpse into several pieces.
The Goblin Priest was powerful, but it was, after all, one of the Magic Professions, so its body was extremely fragile. In addition, its Magic Barrier had just been shattered by Shefilya, and it hadn’t had time to recast it. Panicked and caught off guard by Lin Mo’s sudden close-quarters assault, it died without even getting to cast a single spell.
[Sword Charge Strike] Skill Level +30 (+15)
’Huh?’
Lin Mo looked surprised.
’The +30 Skill Level for [Sword Charge Strike] is easy to understand, but what does the 15 in parentheses mean?’
Lin Mo checked his Skill Level panel. The Skill Level for [Sword Charge Strike] had increased by 45 points, not 30. ’In other words, were those 15 points a bonus?’
’As for the reason...’
Lin Mo quickly figured it out.

’Judging by the Skill Level increase, the Goblin Priest was undoubtedly a Level 5 creature.’
’And my highest Professional Level is only Level 3. I killed a monster two levels higher.’
’That must be what triggered the bonus. Come to think of it, I’ve killed monsters one level higher than me plenty of times, but this is the first time I’ve killed something two levels higher.’
’Looks like this Skill Level panel still has some hidden features I haven’t discovered yet.’
The extra Skill Level was a pleasant surprise, but the battle wasn’t over yet.
Shefilya had already beaten the two Goblin Knights to within an inch of their lives and was about to finish them off.
Lin Mo’s eyes narrowed. Expending the last of his Physical Strength, he moved with a speed that surpassed even his charge on the Goblin Priest. Right before Shefilya could make her move, he ran one of the Goblins through with his sword.
[Continuous Thrust] Skill Level +25!
’One more to go!’
Lin Mo wasted no time. He cast a Thunder Strike Skill, and a "beam" of lightning shot into the other Goblin Knight’s eye, claiming its "head" as well.
[Thunder Strike Skill] Skill Level +25!
’Ah, that’s satisfying!’
Lin Mo let out a sigh of relief, feeling utterly gratified.
And those last 25 Skill Level points were enough for his Thunder Strike Skill to level up again.

"Skill [Thunder Strike Skill] Lv3 (40/40) has leveled up!"
"Current Skill: [Thunder Strike Skill] Lv4 (2/100)"
’Because it started at Excellent Level, was relatively fast, and extremely useful, this was my fastest-progressing Magic skill. Two more levels, and it will evolve into my first Excellent Level Magic!’
Seeing their leader and several of their brethren slain, the pursuing Goblin Warrior and the distant Goblin Ranger unhesitatingly turned tail and fled.
Shefilya reacted instantly, giving chase. She finally managed to kill the Ranger Goblin that had repeatedly ambushed them.
As for the Goblin Warrior...
Lin Mo’s Physical Strength and Magic Power were almost completely depleted; he was in no condition to give chase.
By the time Shefilya finished off the Goblin Ranger, the Warrior had already covered a good distance.
’She could probably catch it if she forced herself, but there was no need.’
’Her priority was to protect Lin Mo and get him to safety.’
As Shefilya returned to his side, the adrenaline that had kept Lin Mo going finally faded. The effects of the Life Potion wore off, and a profound sense of fatigue and weakness washed over him. His strength gave out completely, and he began to fall stiffly toward the ground.
Shefilya glanced at him and, after a moment’s hesitation, took two steps forward to keep him from falling face-first onto the ground.
