Chapter 182: Chapter 137: Are You Doing This on Purpose?

Lin Mo felt her soft body against his, a faint smile gracing his lips.

’This Maid may seem cold and distant, but she’s actually quite kind-hearted.’

Shephilia glanced at Lin Mo, who had closed his eyes and gone completely limp on her back like a pile of dead weight. With a helpless sigh, she carried him away from the battlefield.

She had witnessed his performance and his visible improvement throughout the entire battle.

’Miss Feney didn’t misjudge him. The guy’s not just a monstrously talented genius; he’s also reliable and never drops the ball when it counts.’

But...

Shephilia glanced at the arm draped in front of her, hanging loosely.

"Are you doing this on purpose?"

"What?"

"OW~~"

An elbow jabbed into Lin Mo’s stomach, and he winced in pain.

"Hey, I’m a wounded man..."

"Hmph."

Shephilia let out a soft, cold snort, the corners of her lips curling into a subtle arc. "Serves you right."

...

When Shephilia brought Lin Mo to Ali, the Little Wolf Girl was frantic with worry. She rushed forward to examine him, her brow furrowing in distress when she saw the wound on his shoulder that had yet to fully heal.

"Don’t worry. He’s probably just exhausted and fell asleep. His injuries aren’t too severe..."

After saying this, Shephilia turned and rushed back to the battlefield.

With the Goblin Priest dead and many of the directing Bronze Goblins either killed or having fled, the Goblin Army quickly descended into chaos, becoming a disorganized mess.

Some continued to charge forward mindlessly, while others, having come to their senses, had begun to flee.

That said, the forces of Silver Moon Town no longer had the strength to give chase. A safe retreat was the best they could manage.

Without the Goblin Priest, the Goblins wouldn’t be able to mount another large-scale attack anytime soon, granting Silver Moon Town a period of peace.

Of course, the routine Goblin incursions would remain unavoidable. They would still need to venture out continuously to cull the Goblins’ numbers as much as possible.

The Lord of Silver Moon Town and the head of the local Adventurer’s Association branch were in charge of the aftermath. A mountain of work awaited them.

However, none of this concerned an Adventurer like Lin Mo, who had only come to provide support.

His extreme exhaustion caused him to sleep for an entire day. After Ali and Shephilia brought him back in the wee hours of the morning, he slept straight through to the following day.

"Ngh..."

Slowly opening his eyes, Lin Mo rubbed his throbbing temples. His mind was foggy.

After sleeping for so long, his physical fatigue had naturally subsided, but the strain on his Spirit still needed time to heal.

The stronger one’s Spirit and the higher one’s Magic Power, the slower the natural recovery rate after complete depletion. This was why high-level Mages were so expensive to maintain; they constantly needed to purchase various items to restore Magic Power and nourish their Spirit.

Fortunately, there was no need to fight anymore. Lin Mo had plenty of time to recover at his own pace.

As Lin Mo tried to sit up, he noticed someone slumped over the edge of the bed.

A closer look revealed it was Ali.

The Little Wolf Girl was resting her head on the edge of the bed, her face etched with fatigue. She had most likely been watching over him the entire time.

Lin Mo gently stroked her hair. Ali’s eyes fluttered open sleepily, but they instantly cleared when she saw him. "Lin Mo, you’re awake!"

Lin Mo gently rubbed her soft ears. "You’ve worked hard. Go back to sleep."

Ali shook her head. "I didn’t really do anything..."

CREAK—

The door was pushed open, and Shephilia walked in, now wearing a fresh Maid uniform. She held a tray laden with a hearty breakfast.

"How is Feney?"

Lin Mo asked immediately.

"Miss Feney just woke up. She sent me to check on you and to bring you breakfast..."

Shephilia’s gaze lingered on Lin Mo for a moment. "It seems you’ve recovered well."

"Except my stomach still hurts a bit."

Lin Mo rubbed the spot where she had elbowed him.

Shephilia rolled her eyes, not falling for his act.

’She knew she had controlled her strength perfectly; there was no way she had actually hurt him.’

’Stomach ache?’

Beside them, Ali looked utterly confused. "Lin Mo, is your stomach hurt? Quick, let me see..."

She had already checked more than once while he was asleep and hadn’t found any wounds.

But if Lin Mo said his stomach hurt, she had to check again.

The Little Wolf Girl never stood on ceremony with him. She immediately threw back the covers and his shirt, her hands going straight to his stomach to feel for herself.

Shephilia pursed her lips and looked away.

"Miss Feney is waiting for you to go to the Association... Don’t take too long."

With that, she turned and left.
