Chapter 180: Chapter 137: Did You Do It on Purpose?
Having learned its lesson, the Goblin no longer rushed to block. Instead, it observed cautiously, only swinging its Wolf Fang Club to meet Lin Mo when he charged right up to it.
"CLANG—!"
A crisp sound rang out. Because the Goblin Warrior had hastily met the attack and didn’t have time to exert its full strength, the two were evenly matched for the moment.
Feeling the slight tremor in his arm, Lin Mo now had a rough idea of his opponent’s Strength.
With [Resilience] active, he wouldn’t be at too much of a disadvantage.
A flurry of attacks followed, and he immediately engaged in a close-quarters brawl, catching the Goblin completely off guard.
It had expected Lin Mo to continue dodging and launching surprise attacks as before, and was prepared for it. But Lin Mo’s sudden change in tactics began to overload its limited brain capacity.
Although it still held a slight advantage in Strength, Lin Mo was much faster, even after the Goblin had been enhanced by the Priest. Its body was clumsy and its weapon was even more cumbersome. For every ten strikes Lin Mo made with his Sword, it could only swing its club six or seven times. The remaining few blows landed mercilessly on its body. While the damage wasn’t high, the attacks left bloody gashes, making it look quite pathetic.
And during this rare, high-frequency exchange, Lin Mo’s [Resilience] Skill was put to full use.
Relying on the Skill’s damage reduction and reflection effects, Lin Mo all but erased the gap in Strength between them.
As the fight dragged on, the Goblin Warrior grew anxious.
It wouldn’t be in any immediate danger if this continued, but the constant injuries were like death by a thousand cuts, causing its condition to steadily decline.

If this kept up, it would be worn down and killed.
Trapped within Lin Mo’s web-like offensive, it was completely preoccupied with defending and couldn’t find any opportunity to counterattack. It had all this strength but no way to use it, which made the fight incredibly frustrating.
Finally, it let out a furious roar. Ignoring Lin Mo’s attacks, it stopped defending. Gripping its weapon with both hands, a vicious glint flashed in its eyes as it suddenly brought the club down in a heavy, powerful strike.
It had clearly used a Skill for this attack, just like when it had blocked his [Sword Charge Strike] earlier.
Lin Mo’s pupils contracted, but a faint smile touched the corners of his mouth.
[Sword Storing and Continuous Slash]!
He was still in the middle of an attack and it was too late to dodge. Following his momentum, Lin Mo unleashed an instant Sword Charge Strike. Three streaks of Sword Qi shot out, only to be instantly shattered by the Wolf Fang Club. The heavy weapon then slammed down upon his Black Sword.
Lin Mo felt an immense force bearing down, making his arm go completely numb. His insides churned violently.
In the next instant, however, a solid arc of electricity shot out from between his left fingers, striking the Goblin squarely in the eye!
’The Magic Power I deliberately saved was for a moment just like this.’
Although Lin Mo’s Magic Power wasn’t particularly high, it was at least stronger than that of an average Level 1 Professional. Combined with the fact that he was attacking its most fragile part—the eye—the unsuspecting Goblin was hit. It let out a pained shriek as one of its eyes was instantly blinded by [Thunder Strike Skill], becoming a mangled, bloody mess.
Lin Mo used the force of the blow to be sent flying, which ironically allowed him to dodge the Goblin’s immediate counterattack.

"HUFF... HUFF..."
After landing, Lin Mo gripped his trembling right hand, his breathing ragged.
’This opponent is truly strong. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this much pressure.’
But in the end, he had still won. Because...
Less than a second after Lin Mo landed, a jet-black Magic Ball shot toward him from his rear flank.
Lin Mo, ever vigilant of his surroundings, instantly cast [Earth Shield Skill].
The Magic Ball struck the Earth Shield, pausing for only a moment before effortlessly shattering it.
But that brief instant was enough.
Lin Mo managed to avoid a fatal blow, but the Magic Ball struck his arm and shoulder. The flesh was instantly corroded away, revealing the stark white bone beneath.
"HISS—!"
It was the first time Lin Mo had been so severely injured. He sucked in a sharp breath, his left hand scrambling to pull a red Potion from his waist. He uncorked it and downed a third of the contents in one gulp.
This wasn’t a Basic Life Potion. It was the High Level Life Potion Flora had given him, worth 500 Gold Coins!

He had used less than a quarter of it back then, and Flora hadn’t taken it back, so Lin Mo had kept it on him.
This Potion was one of Lin Mo’s greatest trump cards in a crisis.
A Basic Life Potion, when faced with such a highly corrosive Magic Power, could at most only slow the corrosive speed of the dark energy.
But a High Level Life Potion was a different story. That one gulp was worth over a hundred Gold Coins, and its effect was genuinely powerful.
The Dark Attribute Magic Power was instantly dispersed by the potent Medicinal Power. The wound on Lin Mo’s arm began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.
At the same time, Shefilya, who had been lying in wait and observing from the shadows, instantly pinpointed the location the Magic Ball had come from.
While using Stealth, she finally discovered the target.
A Magic Staff poked out from beneath the ground and then quickly retracted.
’So that’s it! The bastard is hiding underground. No wonder he was so hard to find!’
Shefilya quickly threw the Flying Knife in her hand. Empowered by formidable Qi and Blood, the sharp blade plunged into the ground with almost no resistance.
From beneath the ground came a short, miserable cry. The Goblin Priest, hiding in a tunnel, looked down in horror at the Flying Knife embedded in its chest.
At the same time, Shefilya herself arrived. She stomped down hard, causing the earth above the tunnel to cave in. With a second stomp, she broke through completely, dropping into the tunnel and landing right in front of the Goblin Priest.
