Chapter 645: Chapter 645 The Uncontrolled Dagger_1

Recalling the ghost that had inexplicably disappeared in the bathroom, Qin Sisi shook her head thoughtfully and whispered, "Don’t panic just yet, the situation might not be as you think."

"What else could it be?" Ding Jiawang, frustrated and anxious at this point, was evidently not receptive to Qin Sisi’s counsel, cursing bitterly, "That girl’s disobedience has bothered everyone since she was young."

Qin Sisi raised her voice slightly to explain, "Listen to me, I encountered a ghost in the restroom, and I worry that Jia Yuan might be in danger."

After he heard this, Ding Jiawang’s expression immediately changed, he anxiously asked with doubt, "Are you implying ... that Jia Yuan is being controlled by a ghost?"

Having previously encountered ghosts, Ding Jiawang was so rattled that he could barely talk.

Seeing Ding Jiawang’s anxiety, Qin Sisi knew she had to stay calm so as not to further unsettle him.

She said solemnly, "I’m not sure, so we should go quickly and see for ourselves."

"Alright, let’s go!" As soon as these words left his mouth, Ding Jiawang was already rushing towards the staircase.

Qin Sisi quickly followed him. They ran down from the sixth floor as fast as they could, paying no attention to the security guard’s puzzled look, dashed out of Manten Plaza, hopped in a car, and sped off towards Rugui Hotel.

Qin Sisi glanced at Ding Jiawang’s gloomy face, and suddenly realized how fortunate Jia Yuan was to have such a caring brother. She hoped the young girl was alright.

It was midnight, with few vehicles and pedestrians on the road, Ding Jiawang drove at high speed. Qin Sisi clung tightly to the car door handle with one hand, holding Ye You with the other, her heart pounding.

Once they got in the car, Ye You naturally ceased his invisibility, restoring his physical body.

Ding Jiawang, anxious about his sister, focused on driving as fast as he could, without addressing the small detail of Ye You’s reappearance.

Half an hour later, Ding Jiawang parked outside the Rugui Hotel, jumped out of the car with Qin Sisi, and looked up at the neon-lit skyscraper. Sisi anxiously asked, "Do you know which room they’re in?"

"I’ll ask." Ding Jiawang pulled out his phone, intending to call Wu Menglei to find out. As soon as he unlocked his phone, he gave a surprised "Eh" and then cheerfully said, "Wu Menglei just sent a message, they’re in room 1209."

Even though his sister’s situation caused some tension between him and Wu Menglei, he had to admit that Wu Menglei was meticulous in his work.

Qin Sisi nodded, and they both rushed into the hotel and took the elevator directly to the twelfth floor.

Locating the room didn’t take long, yet no matter how much they knocked, nobody answered.

"Are you sure this is the right room?" Qin Sisi asked Ding Jiawang.

Ding Jiawang pulled out his phone again to double-check, leaving the message up on the screen in front of Qin Sisi as he said, "Yes, it’s room 1209."

Qin Sisi took a quick glance at his phone, the number was quite clear, and it seemed there was no mistake. But what to do if no one was opening the door?

Ye You, who had been quietly nestled in Qin Sisi’s arms, looked at the anxious expressions on Qin Sisi and Ding Jiawang’s faces, then meowed a single time, volunteering his services.

Qin Sisi gave Ye You a complex look. In the face of the urgency of the situation, she had no time for hesitation, so she patted Ye You on the head and softly said "It’s your turn."

Ding Jiawang noticed Qin Sisi’s action and was about to ask her what she meant. As he saw the black cat slowly lift a paw, a ray of blue light shot towards the door of room 1209, and a clicking sound, sounding as if it had been unlocked, came from inside.

Ding Jiawang was flabbergasted. He knew Qin Sisi was capable, but he didn’t expect her black cat to have this kind of talent.

Qin Sisi didn’t have time to explain herself to Ding Jiawang, and simply pushed the door open and entered. Once Ding Jiawang snapped back to reality, he followed her in.

A burst of screaming filled their ears as they stormed into the room and saw Wu Menglei lying half-prone on the ground, his back against the wall, his eyes tightly shut, completely unconscious.

Jia Yuan was in the room, wailing loudly with a dagger in hand, pressing it against Wu Menglei’s throat.

"Jia Yuan, stop it!" Upon seeing the scene, Qin Sisi immediately shouted out.

Ding Jiawang was also astounded by the scene before him and furiously yelled, "Jia Yuan, are you insane? Put the knife down right now!"

Jia Yuan sobbed incoherently, "Brother, Mage Sisi, it’s not me... sob, sob... I didn’t want to hurt Brother Menglei, but I can’t let go! It’s not me... it’s not me..."

Jia Yuan’s words were nonsensical, but her actions suggested she did want to retreat from Wu Menglei. However, the dagger and the hand clutching it remained completely immobile, and it didn’t appear to be under Jia Yuan’s control at all.

Ye You’s eyes flashed purple, and he sprang from Qin Sisi’s arms. He raised his claw high and sharply brought it down on Jia Yuan’s head.

Two screams followed one after the other. The first was from Jia Yuan, and the second was from an unfamiliar voice.

Then, a ghostly figure drifted out of Jia Yuan’s body. It was a young woman in her early twenties, dressed in a sky blue top and a denim skirt, giving off a very innocent vibe.

Qin Sisi had no time to observe the ghost, as long as Ye You was there, the ghost wouldn’t be able to escape.

She and Ding Jiawang went over to help Jia Yuan. After the ghost left her body, Jia Yuan appeared to have lost all her strength, collapsing to the floor as the dagger fell from her hand with a clear clang.

"Jia Yuan, how are you feeling? Hang on, we’ll get you to a hospital right away," Ding Jiawang suppressed his anxieties to comfort his sister in a soft voice. Given Jia Yuan’s condition, he figured he should take her to a hospital for a check-up.

Jia Yuan clung to Ding Jiawang’s arm, weeping, "I’m okay, brother. I don’t want to go to the hospital, I want to go home."

Ding Jiawang quickly responded, "Alright, we’ll go home."

While cradling Jia Yuan, she choked back a sob and said, "And Brother Menglei... I nearly killed him, and I was so stupid."

Ding Jiawang sighed heavily, he didn’t know how to deal with his foolish sister, whether to comfort her patiently or to give her a good scolding.

Qin Sisi lovingly looked at Jia Yuan and gently said, "Jia Yuan, go home with your brother first. I’ll ensure Brother Menglei gets home safely, he’ll be fine, alright?"

Jia Yuan stared at Qin Sisi, who like her brother, gave off an inexplicable sense of security, making Jia Yuan willing to trust her unconditionally.

Only after Qin Sisi promised to take Wu Menglei home, did Jia Yuan agree to leave with her brother.

Ding Jiawang said to Qin Sisi, "I am entrusting this to you," and then, carrying Jia Yuan, left the hotel via elevator.
