Chapter 423: Chapter 319: Secret Hut

Within the entire council, apart from the heavy panting of the Black Dragon, there was not a peep.

The Burial Ground was the heaviest punishment for the Dragon Clan.

The Dragon Clan had a unique cycle of life and death. When a dragon’s life was at its end, the Dragon Tomb would send out a call, urging the dragon to quickly finish all unfinished deeds. Then, the dragon would fly to the Dragon Tomb itself. This was a huge tombstone located on some island where the dragon’s soul would separate from its body. The knowledge within the soul would completely peel away and enter the Sky-top Library, merging into the collective knowledge of the Dragon Clan. Its soul, on the other hand, would enter a Dragon Egg, waiting for the next hatching.

The eggs of the Dragon Clan came from the Dragon Pool.

This was, in reality, one of the Giants’ curses on the Dragon Clan.

Initially, the Giants laid a mighty curse on the Dragon Clan. This curse made the Dragon Clan lose their ability to reproduce, as well as their ability to use magic.

However, as the Dragon Clan was sorting out the inheritance left by the Giants, they discovered the Dragon Pool and the Dragon Tomb. These were two appalling devices invented by the Giants. One could create soulless blank life, while the other could extract life’s soul and knowledge separately.

Used in tandem, these two devices completed a full cycle of reincarnation.

The Giants invented these out of convenience during their experiments to create life. However, the Dragon Clan unintentionally solved the problem of not being able to reproduce.

Of course, among the things the Giants left behind, there was one that terrified all of the Dragon Clan.

The Burial Ground.

During the Giants’ lengthy process of creating life, they naturally conjured some detestable, evil beings. Destruction would seem to waste potential research value. And so, the Giants invented a grand space. This space was freezing cold; souls would be extracted from bodies but unable to leave. The Giants trapped all the wicked creatures there and destroyed all life in that location before they left. The Dragon Clan reconstructed it into the most ruthless prison amongst their kind.

All bodies in the Burial Ground would slowly decay, and the souls would endlessly endure the pain brought on by the cold. In the Burial Ground, insane Dragon Souls constantly roamed. These souls, filled with hatred towards the Dragon Clan, were so tormented by pain that they already forgot exactly why they hated. They just instinctively hated all the Dragon Clan. Therefore, whenever a new Dragon Clan member was thrown into the Burial Ground, all the dragon souls would instinctively attack these newcomers until they turned as insane as they were.

Once, a dragon was banished to the Burial Ground for merely a day due to a mistake made. By the time its soul returned to its body, it had already gone completely insane because its soul was no longer whole.

No one liked the Burial Ground, people wouldn’t even joke about it.

However, when Tyl heard the three words ’Burial Ground,’ he smiled with relief.

He spoke lightly, "Chairman Gulelie, even if my soul is shattered to pieces, I will never forget what you have done to me and my knights. From today onward, my curse will accompany you day and night, I will appear in front of you as long as there’s a chance, tearing you into shreds!"

Gulelie too, laughed, "I give you a thousand years — if your soul can last that long."

Asus watched as Tyl was taken away by a Giant Dragon that was suddenly there. His brows furrowed, a faint sense of unease gradually surfacing.

Meanwhile, Long Yi was playing with his Giant-brand tablet. Even though there weren’t many games on it, the map function alone was enough to occupy him for quite some time. What he was looking forward to most was the ’Request Satellite Strike’ function, but unfortunately, the numbers who could authorize it were still zero.

The Golem had already been handed over to a group of outrageous scientists for research. This object was something Long Yi didn’t dare give to the Dwarves yet, because the Dwarf Empire was a very loose Empire. Long Yi hadn’t even met the Dwarven Emperor. Who knew if one of the dwarves would bargain with the information on the Golem in exchange for mining rights from the Black Dragon Empire.

In contrast, Long Yi didn’t set high confidentiality levels in manufacturing the Battle Armor because whether he did or didn’t, the Black Dragon Empire would still get the news from their spies in the White Dragon Empire. Since the Dwarf Empire creating Battle Armors would always have a limit in numbers, as long as all the Battle Armors were on the White Dragon Empire’s side, what could the Black Dragon Empire even do about it? It’s the same as the Black Dragon Empire currently creating undead soldiers, it’s a type of strategic deterrent!

The activity of hunting mythical beasts was still ongoing, and Ai Lin even participated, but Long Yi did not. Because Long Yi still had something he had always wanted to do but never had the chance to.

Paying a visit to the Sea Emperor.

If there was still anywhere in this world to find a complete lineage of knowledge, then it would only be from the Sea Clan.

To be exact, the Sea Emperor’s Clan.

These creatures, having a human upper body and a fish tail as their lower body, were all originally human years ago. They sought refuge in the underwater world due to the war between the Giants and the Dragon Clan. Initially, the Dragon Clan could not pursue them into the ocean, enabling them to preserve their knowledge throughout the cultural gaps. His desire to visit the Sea Clan was based on using historical records to find out what exactly happened during the past war period. Dragon Clan, why did they attack the Giants, and what reason led the Giants to act so peculiar.

Because with Long Yi’s increasing understanding of the Giants, he was discovering more and more that the war of that era was incredibly imbalanced in terms of power between the Giants and Dragon Clan. Although individual Giants were not particularly strong, their never-ending technology could easily make a mess of the Dragon Clan. And that so-called curse, which disables magic casting without humans, simply seemed like a joke. If the Giants could cast a curse so precisely, they could also release one to instantly kill all hostile Dragon Clan members, couldn’t they?

In short, all kinds of bizarre doubts made it more and more difficult for Long Yi to join the clues together; he needed directions from professional players.

Through the trident, Long Yi was able to get in touch with the mermaid princess, Mina. Upon hearing that Long Yi wanted to visit the Sea Emperor, Mina readily agreed before explaining it to the Sea Emperor.

The Sea Emperor, Boris, thought it over and agreed. In fact, he too was really wanting to have a thorough chat with this Giant.

Compared to the grand departure of the Sea Emperor through the Teleportation Gate, Long Yi’s journey was quite miserable. In order to not attract any attention, Long Yi didn’t bring along Bajie or Xiaoyou, just himself and Little Zi, who could hide within his body. First, he rode a Thunder Eagle to the coast, then he rented a boat to reach a small island. When the boat left, a ’submarine’ slowly emerged from beneath the water. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

It was a gigantic conch-shaped sea snail, tens of meters long. The tip was truncated and replaced with a metal cockpit, which could accomodate two people. However, as soon as Long Yi climbed in, he realised one person was more than enough.

Everything was brand new here; clearly, the Sea Clan had no use for this oddity. It was created especially for Long Yi.

Once Long Yi closed the cockpit door, the sea snail gradually sank underwater. Then, a sudden thrust threw him back forcefully, pinning him to his seat!

He saw the water and various types of fish retreating at high speed, unfortunate fish that struck the submarine shattered on impact. Long Yi estimated that at this speed, not just fish but even a real submarine would be ripped apart.

The journey would last nearly five hours. The cockpit was stocked with fresh water and food. Long Yi casually ate some which tasted bland, but unique nevertheless.

Finally, the drowsy Long Yi was startled awake by the resplendent golden city before his eyes.

"Good grief, how rich are these Sea Clan folks?"

The massive underwater castle before him was built atop a cliff in the sea trench, constructed entirely out of gold and various gemstones!

Mina had once mentioned her castle was made of gold, but Long Yi assumed she meant it was golden in color. To his surprise, it was real gold!

Armed with a trident, Long Yi watched the door open, and water flooded in. Yet, Long Yi could still breathe normally.

"Thank heavens I put on my swim trunks," he thought.

Mina and her personal guards came to greet him. Finally, Long Yi saw the grand spectacle of Mina’s personal guards—there were over ten thousand lined up on both sides of the castle!

Gosh, I’m just here to ask about something, is this really necessary?

"Brother Long!"

Mina saw Long Yi from afar and excitedly swam over. She threw herself into his arms, and Long Yi spun her around several times before setting her down.

Tch... without any clothing in the way, except those two shell... the touch sure feels special.

"Brother Long! Have you missed me?" Mina asked, her big eyes brimming with anticipation.

"Of course I missed you!" Long Yi replied with a smile.

"I don’t believe you! I know things have been chaotic on the continent recently and you have become a big hero! Hahaha, I knew brother Long would become a hero!"

"Not a hero, just messing around!" Long Yi tousled Mina’s hair as he replied.

Suddenly, the guards’ gaze heated up. Surrounded by icy thermal water, Long Yi realised the inappropriateness of what he’d done.

"Ahem! Well uh, where’s your father, Mina?" Long Yi pretended to cough, lowered his hand, and asked. The surrounding guards immediately gave Long Yi an ’it’s good you know your place’ look. Long Yi chose to ignore them.

"Father is at the palace! I came over to collect you!" Mina replied cheerfully.

"Oh? Over there?" Long Yi pointed at the resplendent castle.

"There? Nope! That’s just my secret hideout!" Mina laughed out loud. Even the stoic guards couldn’t hide their amusement!

What?!

How simple am I!

A secret hideout!
