Chapter 424: Chapter 320: What Does the Giant Want to do?

What did Long Yi’s secret cabin from his childhood memories look like? When he was a kid, he made a small cabin out of planks on a tree in the backyard. It housed his beat-up bike, his failed test papers, and a broken toy gun.

But then!

Take a look at other people’s secret cabins!

A castle made of pure gold!

Totally encrusted with pearls and gems!

Guarded by more than ten thousand soldiers!

Normal rich people might die of shame and anger seeing this.

Long Yi couldn’t help remembering a popular saying from his previous life.

Show off much, my Friend?

However, clearly Mina was indeed his friend.

Long Yi’s swimming skills were not bad, but compared to the Sea Clan, they fell short. Mina had to pull him along most of the way. The poor Long Yi struggled a bit, but realized besides slowing them down, there was little else he could do, so he just let her drag him along.

Mina told Long Yi that this castle was not built like human ones. Rather, it was created by little creatures called Golden Coral Worms.

The Golden Coral Worms loved to mine gold rich ores at the seabed, and then used the gold to build their nests. The Sea Emperor clan bred a large amount of Golden Coral Worms to build castles. After all, gold mines were as common as scrap iron at the seafloor.

Long Yi thought for a moment, just nodding his head, not letting out his want for a castle.

That would be too embarrassing.

The one and only purpose of coming to this castle was to help Long Yi breathe under the sea. Obviously, the time provided by the trident was not enough for Long Yi to stay underwater for a long time. Fortunately, the Sea Emperor Clan had some special methods.

The Mermaid Potion was one of them.

Sea clan members evolved lungs after drinking it, allowing them to breathe on land. And humans, after drinking it, could allow their lungs to freely breathe in the seawater.

Long Yi tried it and found breathing seawater to be a unique experience. Especially while speaking, his vocal cords couldnít vibrate as he wanted them to, so he had to use hand gestures.

However, it was better than drowning.

"Oh, right, Brother Long, this is for you." Mina handed Long Yi a pair of transparent lenses that looked like Ultraman’s.

"What is it for?" Long Yi couldn’t speak, but his expression showed his confusion.

"Put it on your eyes. This is seawater. Once the trident’s power fades, your eyes won’t be able to bear it."

Realizing the purpose, Long Yi quickly put the two transparent super eggs on his eyes; they naturally stuck to them due to some kind of adhesive force.

Mina looked at him and burst into laughter. Clearly, Long Yi’s appearance was quite comical.

Long Yi simply struck a pose like the Dynamic Light Wave, this just made Mina laugh even harder without any care for her image.

Their next stop was the real Imperial Palace. This time, they didnít have the strange shells, but two giant bannerfish!

Yes, it was that legendary freak that could dart through the seabed at a hundred kilometers per hour.

Mina was screaming all the way, extremely excited, while Long Yi felt as if his skin was being peeled off. The terrifying resistance underwater, Long Yi, as a land dweller, obviously lacked the means to counteract it.

When Long Yi got off the giant bannerfish, the fish actually spoke.

"Kid, since I couldn’t shake you off, I have to admit you’re tough."

Long Yi spat a bunch of bubbles from his lungs, and vaguely heard words like ’grass’ and ’grandpa’. It was unclear what he was actually saying.

Undersea Imperial City.

A huge city that covered the entire seafloor plain, one of the Sea Emperor Clan’s largest habitats. The outskirts were filled with structures made of huge seashells or snails. In the middle, there were coral buildings. The closer to the center, the more refined and shiny the buildings were. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

And in the center was the extremely huge gold building, the Imperial Palace.

Looking at the pure gold building, which was three times the size of a human palace, Long Yi was filled with awe. Indeed, in the world of the rich, there were always people above you, and skies beyond your sky.

The value of this thing had exceeded Long Yi’s concept of monetary value.

Ordinarily, Long Yi was supposed to enter through the front door of the bottom floor of the palace, go through a security check by the guards, and then gradually climb up to the emperor’s room.

But clearly, Mina didn’t intend to waste time like this. She pulled Long Yi directly upwards. The guards could only give wry smiles when they saw it. In this underwater world, if anyone could ignore all kinds of rules without being punished, it was Mina.

Bang!

Mina crawled into the Sea Emperor’s study through the window, bringing Long Yi along with her.

Even though Long Yi was shameless as an interstellar battleship’s bulletproof armor, he still felt hot under the cold sea. This was his first visit to the Imperial Palace, and instead of arriving in a mannerly way through the front door, he came in through the window.

How embarrassing.

Sea Emperor Boris didn’t seem to mind, though. He had guessed it would be like this ever since he sent Mina to him.

"Your Majesty, Sea Emperor, I’m sorry," Long Yi hurriedly apologized.

With the help of his ’Fighting Aura’, his voice box finally worked correctly in water.

"It’s okay. It’s nice to meet you again, Mister Long Yi. Or should I call you Giant Long Yi?" Boris replied with a chuckle.

"No, no. You’re older than me by a lot, so just call me Long Yi," Long Yi quickly refused.

"Okay, then it is Long Yi. Mina tells me that you have some questions for me and if I’m not mistaken, it must be about the history of the Giants," Boris got straight to the point.

"Yes, your wisdom is impressive, your Majesty." Long Yi responded with a smile.

"You are a Giant. If you simply want to know about history, I can help you, but if it is revenge you’re after as a Giant, I’m afraid I will have to ask you to leave," Boris said.

"Why?" asked Long Yi, choosing not to answer, but instead asked his own question.

"You should know that the Sea Clan was originally human. They first arrived at this underwater part of the ocean and established the safest kingdom on Heluo planet to escape war. In this world, neither the Flying Dragons nor Humans can bring war into these dark depths of the sea."

"But," began Long Yi, "the Giants are different."

"Yes, the Giants are different," Boris agreed. "The Giant’s power is too strong. There’s nothing in this world that can stop them if they choose to act."

Long Yi smiled and said, "I guess you worry too much, your Majesty. If the omnipotent Giants you’re talking about wish for revenge, would they have waited until today?"

The power of the Giants, although Boris hadn’t witnessed it firsthand, did know about it through historical inheritance. Back when he first laid eyes on Long Yi, Boris was extremely concerned about the return of the Giants. The Dragon Clan’s betrayal of the Giant Clan in the past was regarded as a disgrace by various Planes. As a result, the Dragon Clan is still universally scorned. Especially when the Dragon Clan had been cursed by the Giants and can no longer use any powers. Nowadays, the Dragon Clan is the laughing stock of all races.

While the Giants might have fled hastily in the past, they didn’t suffer any real losses. All that was lost were things the Giants had created. Both the Dragon and Sea clans continue to fear the same thing.

Revenge of the Giants.

If the Giants start their revenge, the Dragon Clan will surely face annihilation. While the Dragon Clan has developed its own fighting style over many years, they are still using humans, who were created by the Giants, to battle. The Giant’s control over the resources capable of wiping out all humans is a genuine threat. Although the Sea Clan seems to be out of the loop, they are still essentially human. Things could turn ugly if the Giants truly got serious.

That is why the Sea Clan is extremely anxious. Therefore, when Mina decided to befriend Long Yi, Boris didn’t stop her but instead cautiously agreed. He wanted to see what this little Giant was up to through Mina’s eyes.

From what Mina had observed, besides running around fighting all day long, this guy called Long Yi hardly did anything serious that Boris imagined.

Boris was understandably puzzled.

Could it be that Long Yi didn’t come for revenge?

So when Long Yi turned up, Boris decided to directly ask. After all, if the Giants decided to take revenge, the Sea Clan won’t be able to stop them. At least they could prepare beforehand.

But evidently, Long Yi hasn’t thought that far ahead.

Boris looked into Long Yi’s eyes, and he didn’t see any lies in those eyes. As a Giant, Long Yi had no reason to deceive him.

"If it’s not for revenge, then why are you here in this world?" Boris asked in confusion.

"If I knew, I wouldn’t have come to ask you. I’m also curious," Long Yi replied while shrugging.

Boris chuckled. Ever since the first day he met Long Yi, he realized that Long Yi is pretty chill. He actually spoke his mind without any hesitation. But on second thought, Long Yi indeed had nothing to hide.

"Well then, the mermaid potion lasts for three days, so I think we have enough time to find some answers," Boris said.

Mina was standing beside Long Yi. All those conversations between her father and Long Yi were a little over her head. She knew about the Giants but didn’t understand the specifics. As far as Mina was concerned, Long Yi without any title was still her favorite big brother.

"Shall we get started then?" Long Yi asked.

Long Yi was eager to know what happened in the past, but Boris wasn’t in a hurry.

"Let’s eat something first and rest a bit. You’ve come a long way. We still have three days, which is plenty," Boris suggested.

"I’m not hungry at all. I had plenty of seafood on my way here," Long Yi replied.

Long Yi had eaten a lot in the giant sea snail submarine. Now, with the truth right in front of him, how can he eat?

"The knowledge you seek is stored in a special place. We can’t go there just anytime. At least we need to wait until tomorrow morning according to land time. Right now, it’s just started to get dark, which is just dinner time. So, there really isn’t a better option for you right now," Boris said with a smile.

Seeing no other choice, Long Yi had to agree. After all, where could he go if he refused?
