Chapter 181: Chapter 143: Afraid of Ghosts? _2
"Brother Lei Zhen, calm down. Don’t breathe so fast. If you keep going like this, you will--"
Thud.
"You’ll faint."
Long Yi helplessly looked at Lei Zhen who had collapsed, then glanced at Little Zi standing nearby. Little Zi stuck out her tongue, wearing an innocent face, then hid behind Ai Lin.
"You quite successfully found Lei Zhen’s Achilles’ heel," said the Crown Prince, looking at the collapsed Lei Zhen with resignation.
"What’s going on with him? Did he faint from seeing cute girls for the first time?" Long Yi asked.
"No, he’s afraid of ghosts," the Crown Prince replied.
"Huh?"
"Yes, as you heard. He’s scared of ghosts," the Crown Prince reasserted.
"That’s impossible. This world is not devoid of undead creatures, Lots of people have seen them," Long Yi still couldn’t believe it.
"He’s not afraid of undead creatures, specifically scared of spirits. Yes, in simple terms, he’s scared of female demons. He himself has explained that he’s specifically scared of the feeling where you can see but can’t touch," the Crown Prince slowly explained as Long Yi dragged Lei Zhen to the side of the road.
"Given his tough look, it’s hard to believe," Long Yi still found it hard to believe.
"It’s a childhood trauma, blame his grandmother; she told him too many ghost stories," the Crown Prince said, shaking his head, a hint of amusement in his tone.
Lei Zhen, renowned within the entire seventh grade for his love of warfare—said to feel uneasy unless he got into a fight every day—had been causing trouble since he was three, eventually joining the legion’s problematic members. Who would believe that he’s afraid of ghosts!
Lei Zhen’s Hammerhead Dragon laid on Lei Zhen’s chest, eyes full of resignation. The biggest weakness of its master was grasped by others from the beginning, so how could it win?
Bajie laughed carelessly, angering the Hammerhead Dragon. The Shadow Dragon atop Bajie’s head also sneered, making the Hammerhead Dragon even more upset. Bajie was a dragon of the Demon Abyss, an instinctual pressure radiated from him that the Hammerhead Dragon could perceive. While the Shadow Dragon was an outcast among the Dragon Clan, without the Dragon Knight, the Shadow Dragon’s power would place it at the forefront of the clan. But regardless of Bajie or the Shadow Dragon, they were both just young dragons. No matter how powerful you are, a young dragon is still a young dragon. The Hammerhead Dragon was already a mature dragon! The strength of a dragon and a Dragon Knight are complementary to each other. The strength of a Dragon Knight promotes a dragon’s evolution, and the dragon, after evolving, bolsters the Dragon Knight’s power even more!
Thinking of this, the Hammerhead Dragon glared fiercely at Bajie and the Shadow Dragon. You two are just young dragons, what are you being so arrogant about!
"I still find it a little hard to believe," said Long Yi, pulling Little Zi away who was about to poke the fainting Lei Zhen with a small wooden stick.
"Yes, you can simply equate it with girls’ fear of cockroaches. Cockroaches are quite common, but girls are generally afraid of them," the Crown Prince explained in layman’s terms.
"But they don’t usually fear praying mantises which are relatives of cockroaches," Long Yi smiled.
"Praying mantises are relatives of cockroaches?" the Crown Prince was totally confused.
"Heh heh, nevermind," Long Yi quickly changed the subject. This was a biological inheritance issue, introducing it to them might not be appropriate.
Lei Zhen had woken up long ago. As a Dragon Knight, even if he was knocked unconscious by an enemy, he wouldn’t stay unconscious for this long. He had only fainted for an instant before quickly waking up. But he was too embarrassed to face everyone, so he simply kept his eyes closed, waiting for them to finish this topic.
The third prince who realized early on that Lei Zhen was pretending to be unconscious chose to stay silent, and so did Long Yi, who although late to catch on, had finally figured it out. Thus, Lei Zhen ’awoke’ in this way.
"You..." Long Yi was just about to speak, but Lei Zhen cut him off, saying, "Don’t say anything. I admit that I’m afraid of ghosts."
Long Yi laughed and replied, "You can choose to defeat me to reclaim your dignity."
"You don’t have to tell me that, I was going to do that anyway!"
Lei Zhen promptly got up and walked out without saying another word. Despite his outward steeliness, one could see his lack of confidence from the way he deliberately avoided Little Zi’s gaze.
As Long Yi followed, he secretly warned Little Zi never to try scaring Lei Zhen again. There really are people in this world who are scared to death of ghosts!
Little Zi cheerfully agreed. To ensure her resolution, she decided to walk on her feet, her little boots making a tippy-tap sound as she hit the floor. But Long Yi noticed that the sound seemed to cause Lei Zhen to become more nervous upfront. However, there was nothing Long Yi could really do about this. He couldn’t hold Lei Zhen down and give him a shot of serotonin, now could he?
The outskirts of the Imperial City were where the military was stationed, and the Dragon Knights had their camps there as well. As the most potent force in this world, they naturally had the best treatment. Their terrain was vast, boasting an assembly area that could hold up to one hundred mature dragons at the same time. This place would consume hundreds of tons of meat, vegetables, and fruits every day, with food supplies being provided from over ten different national ranches and vegetable centers.
Lei Zhen was obviously a frequent visitor here. There was no unfamiliarity despite him being from the Third Legion. The guards at the camp were familiar with him and didn’t cause any hassles for the people following him.
Strangely, the guard did not recognize the second prince.
"I rarely leave line, so it’s not strange that guards don’t know me," the Second Prince, noticing the confusion on Long Yi’s face, explained with a smile.
