Chapter 180: Chapter 143: Afraid of Ghosts?

At this point, Lei Zhen was already sweating bullets. Even though he could bear the pain in his palm, this overpowering force made him feel extremely aggrieved. But then, Long Yi suddenly let go, catching Lei Zhen by surprise.

This Long Yi didn’t seem as ruthless as the legends depicted.

Lei Zhen looked at his slightly deformed hand, he realized that he was now completely unable to open his palm.

His face reddened slightly. The Fighting Aura welled up, the blood in his palm started flowing freely again, and a mixture of intense numbness and pain struck him.

"You kid, your brute strength truly lives up to its reputation." Lei Zhen praised sincerely as he worked his fingers. That was just the kind of person he was — he could bravely acknowledge the strength of others.

"I’m pretty confident in my strength and when it comes to brute force, I fear no one." Long Yi replied.

"But combat isn’t about brute force." Lei Zhen insisted.

"Yeah, I’ve heard that before. The last person who said that lost." Long Yi said.

"Who was it?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"My brother Ais!" Ai Lin bragged.

The Crown Prince looked at Ai Lin, speechless. This little girl was certainly beginning to favor outsiders! Her brother Ais doted on her so much and yet she spoke ungratefully. Wouldn’t he rush headlong into a wall upon hearing this? Did she have to say it in such a smug tone?

"Ais?" Lei Zhen of course knew of the young prodigy who trained like a machine.

"If I remember correctly, Ais’s Fighting Aura is at the nineteenth level, right?" Lei Zhen inquired.

"Correct." Ai Lin confirmed.

"That figures. While Fighting Aura doesn’t always determine the outcome of battles, if there is a large disparity in the levels of Fighting Aura, it becomes quite hard to win." Lei Zhen, feeling the pain and numbness in his hand subsiding, seemed ready for a battle.

Ai Lin pouted, deciding not to say anything more. She knew that Ais’s Fighting Aura level was indeed low. That was why he’d always relied on his own strength to improve his Fighting Aura and chosen to let his Mount Dragon evolve perfectly. If Ais had allowed his Dragon to evolve earlier, the Dragon Power would have boosted his Fighting Aura. He would probably have two Dragon Marks by now!

But I’ll only tell Brother Long this. I’m not going to tell this grizzled uncle!

Ai Lin’s gaze left Lei Zhen a bit puzzled. Being thick-skinned as he was, he hadn’t realized he’d inadvertently offended her. But even if he had, he wouldn’t have cared.

"Let’s go, Long Yi. Let’s have a match. I haven’t found a worthy opponent in a long time; my fists are itching for a fight!" Lei Zhen said to Long Yi.

"What a coincidence, my fists are itching too. Shall we find somewhere sturdy to brawl?" This suggestion resonated with Long Yi’s intentions indeed.

Lei Zhen loved straight-forward people like Long Yi. He laughed heartily and waved his hand, "Follow me! I’ll take you to the Dragon Knight training camp! There’s plenty of space there!"

"Great! Let’s go!"

Initially, Long Yi and Ai Lin came out to have some fun, but now they’d found an even more enjoyable pastime. How could they possibly pass by?

As Long Yi took two steps forward, a petite figure appeared out of nowhere.

"Brother Long, weren’t we going to the Shining Silver?" Little Zi pouted. She’d been merging with Long Yi’s body just then. Even though this state didn’t have any special significance, it made her feel warm.

"Eh, can we go after the fight?" Long Yi was too tempted by the prospect of a fight to resist.

"Who knows how long you guys will be fighting."

"Quick, very quick!"

"There won’t be any extra rounds or anything, right?" Little Zi was worried.

"No, definitely not!" Long Yi immediately guaranteed.

"Oh, then let’s go." Little Zi wasn’t so resistant once she got the guarantee. However, when Long Yi lifted his head to look at Lei Zhen, he found that Lei Zhen’s expression had frozen.

"Shall we go?" Long Yi asked, but Lei Zhen didn’t react; he just stood there staring blankly at Little Zi.

"Uncle?" Long Yi jokingly called out again, but Lei Zhen still didn’t react.

Little Zi shook her head helplessly: "Did this grizzled uncle get killed by my cuteness?" As she said that, Little Zi floated a step forward and, almost simultaneously, Lei Zhen stepped back.

"Huh?" Little Zi seemed to have found something interesting. She quickly floated another step forward, and Lei Zhen took two steps back.

"Ha ha?" Little Zi wanted to continue the fun, but Long Yi grabbed her. He had already seen the expression on Lei Zhen’s face.

It was sheer terror!

"Lei Zhen!" Long Yi went over to Lei Zhen and gave his shoulder a hard pat, which brought him out of his stupor.

"She, she, she, she’s a fe, fe, fe, fe, female demon!" Lei Zhen stuttered.

"Yeah, this is Little Zi, and she’s with me. As you can see, she’s a little maid." Long Yi said while he gave Little Zi, who was about to make a funny face, a fierce stare. She pouted then curtsied very courteously.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Lei Zhen. I’m Little Zi, the Female Demon." Little Zi added mischievously.

"Female Demon!" Lei Zhen quickly retreated a few steps, looking from afar. His normally shaved head was now standing on end, his muscles taut, his eyes glaring red, and his breathing kept getting heavier. He wasn’t angry; he was terrified.
