Chapter 562: Moving Preparations

"Having another child would take at least a few more years, so let’s forget it for now and fulfill our current wishes," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

The family wasn’t too focused on this matter, but her daughter and son-in-law were spending more time with their grandson, leaving Li Caixia a bit bored. Aside from watching over the family shop, she occasionally ran errands to the nearby fast-food place, though it was more fun having her little grandson around.

Xu Mumu was aware of this, but she rarely left the child with them for a long time now, worried that the little one might do something unexpected.

Taking the little one to the lab, with Yin Yang watching over, Xu Mumu wasn’t too busy. Aside from staying in the lab, she also gained a deeper understanding of the village.

The orchard at Fourth Uncle’s place had grown quite large. The semi-grown fruit trees planted last year had all borne fruit this year. Even though Xu Mumu and the others didn’t visit the hometown often, Fourth Aunt would send some fruits to the lab for them.

Time passed quickly for Xu Mumu while staying in the lab.

After over two months, Xu Mumu finally improved the diffractometer. Satisfied with her work, she’d already run several experiments, and the results were all within the margin of error, with minimal discrepancies.

"I wonder what reward I’ll get for submitting these improvements," Xu Mumu said expectantly while holding her little one and eating lunch sent over from the villa. It had been over a year since she touched such things back home, and she felt a bit rusty.

Fortunately, with ongoing familiarization, she’s back in full swing.

"You’re sure to get plenty of benefits. Even if they forget, I’ll have someone remind them," Yin Yang said with a smile.

"They definitely won’t forget," Xu Mumu said helplessly.

As Xu Mumu ate, the little one reached for the food on the table, a bottle sitting in front of him.

"No grabbing randomly," Xu Mumu said with a headache. The child’s strength, likely inherited from Xu Mumu’s superpower, was astonishing. Xu Mumu had to hold him at a distance to prevent him from reaching anything.

"Let’s put him in the stroller," Yin Yang suggested, feeling a bit helpless. Recently, he’d experienced the child’s strength, almost comparable to a ten-year-old.

If it weren’t for them spending so much time watching over him, others might see their child as a little monster.

"Never mind, I’ll just hold him, it’s fine," Xu Mumu shook her head.

The data Xu Mumu had didn’t need her to submit personally. It was directly sent up by Yin Yang’s people.

It’s nearing the New Year, and Xu Mumu didn’t plan to continue her lab work for now. She’d resume after the New Year.

She tidied up the lab a bit. Since it was her personal space, no cleaning staff could enter here, so she had to do it herself.

But Xu Mumu didn’t mind; everything here was so important that she felt uneasy letting others in.

The rewards came down in a few days. Xu Mumu, disliking much interaction with others, received the items in her hand—a medal, a bonus, and a letter.

Xu Mumu glanced at the letter, filled with commendations. Though from someone influential, it was quite memorable, so she simply stored it in a small box.

The little box was almost full. Xu Mumu was very happy with the awards she had received.

With a significant new income, Xu Mumu deposited the money directly into the bank, as she had no shortage of funds.

Her family wasn’t aware of this, and Xu Mumu didn’t plan to say much; she just wanted to quietly take care of the baby.

A few days later, Professor Jian and the others returned, having completely relocated their work.

The school in Shengjiang was ecstatic, as hosting these top experts in their field was like manna from heaven.

Professor Song and the team moved everything back and planned to settle here permanently.

"The house is a bit small. Huo Qingze has a property development and reserved a home for me there. I think it’s nice. Our family has so many people that Doudou’s toys almost crowd us out. Should we move there?" Yin Yang discussed with Xu Mumu.

With the return of the two elders and Xu Jiaojiao living there, it was getting cramped.

Xu Jiaojiao was now a high school senior, still attending makeup classes and not yet on break.

"Where is it?" Xu Mumu curiously asked, feeling the house was a bit small due to all the stuff Yin Yang prepared for the child.

She also worried about the family noticing Doudou’s peculiarities, so moving would kill two birds with one stone.

"Qingfeng Garden, a single-family villa there. Huo Qingze put a lot of thought into it. Residents there will likely be quite wealthy," Yin Yang explained.

"Let’s go take a look in a couple of days," Xu Mumu said curiously. Huo Qingze’s career path differed from what the book had suggested, branching into various industries, now primarily focusing on real estate.

"Sure," Yin Yang nodded with a smile.

The elders, upon returning, couldn’t stop holding Doudou despite the couple’s attempts to intervene.

Luckily, Yin Yang and Xu Mumu had taken many safety measures at home, so the little one didn’t cause any trouble, and the elders didn’t notice his immense strength.

After letting the elders rest at home for two days and entrusting the child to them, Xu Mumu and Yin Yang went to Qingfeng Garden.

Xu Mumu found that it wasn’t far from their previous home, only half an hour’s drive away.

The place was impressively built. Even before entering, Xu Mumu liked the environment.

After getting out of the car with Yin Yang, they walked inside. There weren’t many houses, but they were built with careful attention and varied styles, all exuding elegance.

There was a huge lake in the middle, planted with many lotuses and teeming with fish. A pavilion sat nearby, and it looked quite good.

The two even sat in the pavilion for a while. The breeze was blowing, and Xu Mumu closed her eyes comfortably. The environment really was excellent, with many gardens planted around the lake, filled with flowers from many precious varieties.
