Chapter 563: Renovation
"Is this the house Huo Qingze gave us?" Xu Mumu looked at the villa in front of her, eyes wide in disbelief. This villa was enormous, definitely the king of the buildings in this area.
"Yeah, if it weren’t for the good location here, I wouldn’t want it. How do you like it?" Yin Yang asked with a smile.
"Of course I like it, it’s so beautiful here. But it’s too big, there’s only a few of us living in it," Xu Mumu said helplessly.
"No worries, there are plenty of facilities inside, like the gym you mentioned, and there’s a pool at the back. I’ll take you to have a look," Yin Yang said with a big smile, glad his wife liked it.
Following Yin Yang inside, the place was already renovated, though there wasn’t much furniture. Still, the inside of the house looked amazing, Xu Mumu was a bit overwhelmed, she was truly impressed.
The gym was on the first floor, fully equipped, while the second floor was for living quarters, with large rooms and a dedicated walk-in closet for lots of clothes and shoes.
Then the couple went to the swimming pool at the back, which hadn’t been filled yet, but it was very large.
"Wow, this place is nice, and it’s covered, we can swim here even in cold weather, and when it’s hot, it’ll be more comfortable to swim here," Xu Mumu said excitedly.
"Yes, you can come to swim whenever you want in the future," Yin Yang said gently.
The two spent a long time at the house and decided to move in.
Although Yin Yang planned to have someone redecorate the place, and even if they were to move, it would be after the New Year.
Xu Mumu thought the same way, giving the family time to adjust, plus she wanted to spend the New Year with her family; more people meant more cheer.
But this year, Xu Xue’s side sent news saying everyone was invited to spend the New Year at the second house.
Xu Mumu was naturally among those invited, but she wanted to decline. The two professors wouldn’t be used to going over, so they’d rather stay and have their gathering at home.
With the New Year approaching, there were more things at home, especially the holiday preparations Madam Chun made. Knowing Xu Mumu’s big appetite, she prepared enough to last her until the end of the year.
"Madam Chun, isn’t this too much, can we finish eating all this?" Xu Mumu said, feeling a headache looking at the preparations.
"Don’t worry, you’ll finish it, it won’t spoil," Madam Chun replied calmly, explaining there were plenty of ways to eat and preserve these, plus there were many people in the Xu Family, so they’d definitely finish them.
Xu Mumu twitched her lips, decided not to say more on this, not finishing was fine, they could let Madam Chun handle it and offer it to others.
Xu Mumu also mentioned the plan to move to the Xu Family, particularly to Li Caixia, who was somewhat resistant.
"Why are you suddenly moving so far away?" Li Caixia asked, looking at Xu Mumu gloomily.
"Mom, there are a lot of people here and things, it’s too crowded. When the new semester starts, Jiaojiao and them are coming over, it’ll be even more crowded, so we’re getting a bigger house, I’ll take you to see it in a few days," Xu Mumu replied helplessly, knowing her mom couldn’t bear to part, especially from Doudou.
"Alright, I’ll go with you to have a look. We have a lot of people here, when we’ve saved enough money, I’ll buy a big house over there too," Li Caixia began to plan.
"That’d be great, the environment there is nice, you’ll love it, though it definitely won’t be cheap," Xu Mumu said with a smile, telling her mom about the neighborhood she learned from Yin Yang.
"Is it true?" Li Caixia’s eyes lit up, imagining the benefits of living among affluent people.
"Of course it’s true. When have I lied to you?" Xu Mumu saw her mom’s expression and knew her intentions, she didn’t know what to say.
"Tell Yin Yang to ask Huo about the price, we’re acquaintances. Maybe we can get a discount. Over the year, we’ve saved quite a bit. If it’s still short, let your brother contribute," Li Caixia said excitedly.
Xu Mumu twitched her lips again, knowing her brother earned some money, but buying a house, especially a villa, would likely exhaust all his earnings.
She explained to Li Caixia that the environment in Huo Qingze’s neighborhood was not only ideal but also well-designed and likely to increase in value over time.
As the New Year approached, Li Caixia closed down the family shop, since business was slow, especially the fast-food place with school out, so it closed early.
"I’m ready, let’s go have a look and see how your husband’s renovations turned out," Li Caixia put on new clothes, a fancy hat, and carried a leather bag, looking a bit mismatched.
Jiang Yuxiu joined them, curious to see where her sister-in-law was moving to, having developed a fondness for her and Doudou.
Doudou was in a baby stroller, and they set out with a driver hired by Yin Yang, who had other commitments.
Upon arrival at the community, Li Caixia couldn’t help but like everything she saw, clearly a place for wealthy families.
The houses were appealing, making her more tempted.
"These houses are really nice and large, imagine how many people can live here," Li Caixia said excitedly.
"I’m sure plenty of people can live here, but it seems many already do, the homes must be selling well," Even Jiang Yuxiu found herself drawn to the great location and appealing houses.
They toured the house, still under renovation, and Xu Mumu gave them a look at everything, drawing gasps of admiration as everything felt fresh and new.
"This house is so big and beautiful, there’s even a garden in the back. If grandma sees it, she’ll surely remove all the flowers and plant vegetables instead," Jiang Yuxiu commented.
"Growing flowers is useless, it’s more practical to grow vegetables, then we won’t need to buy them," Li Caixia agreed.
"Those living here won’t mind the cost of buying vegetables," Xu Mumu laughed helplessly, knowing her grandparents might really do such a thing.
