Chapter 553: Doudou
When Xu Mumu woke up, it was already evening, and Yin Yang and the others were there keeping watch.
The smell inside the hospital wasn’t pleasant, and Xu Mumu didn’t quite like it.
"Mumu, you’re awake. Are you feeling uncomfortable?" Yin Yang asked immediately upon seeing Xu Mumu awake.
"It’s nothing." Xu Mumu shook her head, her belly suddenly felt empty, which she wasn’t quite used to.
Looking at the little bun sleeping beside her, a gentle smile appeared on Xu Mumu’s face.
"The baby woke up and you didn’t call me." Seeing the little one nestled in her arms, Xu Mumu glared at Yin Yang. She had fed the little one once before, and now it seemed like the baby wasn’t hungry yet.
"He wasn’t fussy, it’s fine, you need more rest." Yin Yang said seriously. He had prepared a lot of formula, so if the baby was hungry, he could be fed formula as well.
This little guy wasn’t trouble-free. As long as he was held slightly away from Xu Mumu, the little one would start pouting and be ready to cry, insisting on sleeping close to his mother.
"Mumu’s awake. Are you hungry? I brought over black carp soup. Eat more of it, it helps with milk production." Li Caixia said with a smile, opening the thermal container and taking out various foods placed inside.
Knowing her daughter’s hearty appetite, she prepared quite a bit.
"Thanks, Mom." Xu Mumu smiled. She was indeed very hungry, so she started eating quickly. Meanwhile, Yin Yang held the little one, who kept his eyes tightly shut.
Among the family, he only didn’t cry when Yin Yang held him; anyone else holding him would make him pout and want to cry.
Xu Mumu had only eaten for a while when the little one started crying.
"He’s not wet, probably just hungry. Feed him." Li Caixia checked his diaper first, confirming he wasn’t wet, then guided Xu Mumu to feed him.
Being a first-time mother, Xu Mumu was a bit clumsy, and even Yin Yang was somewhat unaccustomed to it.
Watching the little one lying on her chest feeding, he might look a bit ugly at the moment, but it didn’t affect Xu Mumu’s affection for him.
"Yin Yang, have you decided on a name for our child yet?" Xu Mumu looked at the little one, then at Yin Yang. Yin Yang had come up with quite a few names before, for both boys and girls, but they hadn’t decided by the time the baby was born.
"I’ve decided. His name will be ’Si,’ hoping that he will live freely in the future." Yin Yang said warmly, looking at the child in his arms with soft eyes. He now had an heir.
"Alright, how about a nickname? I let you pick, didn’t I?" Xu Mumu didn’t give an opinion. After all, the names she came up with weren’t very pleasant, so she listened to Yin Yang.
"Let’s call him Doudou, Grandma chose it." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"Alright, Doudou it is. I thought it’d be a girl, most of the names we picked earlier were for a girl." Xu Mumu nodded, eating and watching her child. The little one had eaten his fill; Yin Yang had burped him, and he didn’t spit up much. He looked very well-behaved.
"It’s okay if there’s no daughter, having this one is tiring enough, we won’t have another." Yin Yang said helplessly.
"No worries, I didn’t feel like I suffered much. It’s just that the ginseng you prepared won’t be needed." Xu Mumu said with a laugh.
After staying in the hospital for more than a day, Xu Mumu couldn’t stand it anymore and had Yin Yang take her home to recover.
Their baby was quite a handful, waking up several times in the night, either wetting, pooping, or hungry. The couple was worn out.
Back home, Xu Mumu felt much more comfortable. Now that she’d had the baby, the weather wasn’t too hot anymore, so her confinement wasn’t as uncomfortable.
"Grandpa just called. He and Sir Jian have already bought train tickets and took a half-month leave to come and see Doudou." Yin Yang walked in to find Xu Mumu breastfeeding the little one, his ears turning a bit red. It had been a long time since he had been close to his wife, but it wasn’t the time yet.
Somewhat jealous, he glanced at his child. The little one seemed to change daily. In just three or four days, he was as fair and tender as the softest tofu, Yin Yang didn’t dare hold him too tightly for fear of hurting him.
"It’s nice of Grandpa to come, regardless of the trouble." Xu Mumu said with a smile. To be honest, it had been a while since she’d seen Professor Song, and she missed them dearly.
"They don’t mind the trouble. Grandpa said they’ve already discussed with the school about transferring to Shengjiang next semester, where your brother is, to serve as an honorary professor, which means they’ll have more time to help us with the baby." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"That sounds good. Grandparents are getting older and it’s not suitable for them to exert themselves so much anymore." Xu Mumu nodded.
"Yes, they’ve finally figured that out." Yin Yang said with a smile, nodding.
"Has Doudou been fussy today?" Yin Yang asked Xu Mumu. He had gone to the company that morning, as many tasks had piled up. Although Huo Qingze had resolved a lot, the important ones concerning the Yin Family still required his personal decision.
There were still plenty of tasks backlogged, but with his wife and child needing care at home, he didn’t stay long at the company.
"Your own son, you should know, right? Whenever Mom holds him, the little rascal starts crying. Mom even wanted to change his clothes, but he cried and insisted on having me comfort him." Xu Mumu was also annoyed, as the child was too particular about who held him, recognizing only her and Yin Yang. Anyone else would make him cry.
"It’s alright, I’ll handle these things." Yin Yang said helplessly.
With the large family from the in-laws helping out, Xu Mumu was well taken care of.
"Sister, Doudou is so small. When will he grow up?" Fengfeng asked, lying by Xu Mumu’s bedside, looking at his little nephew. His parents wouldn’t let him hold Doudou, but when he held Doudou’s hand, Doudou wouldn’t cry.
Just two days ago, at school, he shared with his desk mate that his little nephew was already born.
Initially, he wanted to bring Yu Yi to see Doudou, but Yu Yi’s mom wouldn’t allow it.
Yu Yi’s mom had her own considerations. Even though Yu Yi and Fengfeng were close, going to someone else’s house with such a small child was risky—there was a chance of hurting their child or her child getting hurt—and these were serious matters.
"It’ll take another year or two until he’s running and jumping." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"That’s a long time. Can’t he grow up faster?" The little guy propped his chin, looking at the little nephew being held by his brother-in-law, feeling a bit upset.
"No, you didn’t grow up instantly either." Xu Mumu chuckled. Her little brother always had all these quirky questions, and sometimes Xu Mumu didn’t even know how to answer them.
