Chapter 552: Giving Birth
"It’s necessary. Even if it’s not needed during childbirth, it should still be prepared." Yin Yang said seriously. His wife was so carefree, how could she not worry at all?
Xu Mumu’s lips twitched. Forget it, just let him fuss over it, otherwise, who knows how he’d worry.
Xu Mumu watched Yin Yang become more anxious day by day. His eating and sleeping were affected, and dark circles began appearing under his eyes, which got Xu Mumu worried.
"Yin Yang, do you want to take a nap? Seeing you like this breaks my heart." Xu Mumu gently touched the dark circles under Yin Yang’s eyes. How could this person be so silly? Wasn’t he always very alert usually? Why did he become foolish when it came to her matters?
"It’s fine." Yin Yang shook his head and took a sip of tea. He didn’t quite like the taste of coffee, so he always drank tea instead. Drinking tea kept him alert, but he drank so much that he had trouble sleeping at night, mainly because he couldn’t stop worrying about Xu Mumu.
"It’s far from fine, hurry and come sleep with me, or I’ll be angry." Xu Mumu glared at Yin Yang. This guy didn’t care for his health at all.
He cared for her and feared something might happen to her. She knew this and was very touched, but seeing Yin Yang in this state made her more distressed. She preferred his usual shrewd and in-control demeanor.
"Mumu, you’re tired? Let me accompany you." Yin Yang immediately said, always putting Xu Mumu first.
The couple lay on the bed, Xu Mumu leaning against Yin Yang’s embrace. Yin Yang carefully held his wife. Xu Mumu’s belly was very big now, with her due date approaching, so he didn’t dare to be negligent.
"Close your eyes." Xu Mumu said helplessly. This guy was being overly cautious, making her feel heartache.
With his eyes closed, Yin Yang felt exhausted. He hadn’t been sleeping well these past few days.
After Yin Yang fell asleep, Xu Mumu opened her eyes. She had Madam Chun make some calming food and forced Yin Yang to eat quite a bit. Seeing him asleep now, Xu Mumu didn’t dare to move, afraid of waking him.
Xu Mumu felt happy with her life right now, having met such a good man. It made her life worthwhile.

When Xu Mumu woke up, Yin Yang was already awake, sitting next to her reading a book. He was reading about caring for pregnant women and what precautions to take after a child is born. He had been learning about these topics recently.
"How long did you sleep?" Xu Mumu asked Yin Yang. He looked much better, and Xu Mumu breathed a quiet sigh of relief, fearing he might fall ill from being on edge all the time.
"More than two hours. I’m good, don’t worry." Yin Yang said gently, aware of his wife’s worries.
"No more tea for you. You can’t sleep after drinking it, and it makes me worry a lot." Xu Mumu playfully said while hugging Yin Yang.
"I’ll listen to you." Yin Yang replied with a smile. At least until Xu Mumu gave birth, he couldn’t stop worrying.
He only wanted one child now; childbirth was so scary, and his wife had to endure too much hardship.
Xu Mumu’s belly was due any day now, even she had become more cautious.
When it happened, Xu Mumu was at home chatting with her sister-in-law, mostly getting recommendations from Jiang Yuxiu on recent movies and TV shows to watch after the baby was born.
While chatting, Xu Mumu felt something flow out. Given how much her family had talked about it recently, she naturally realized the amniotic sac had broken.
"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law, the water broke." Xu Mumu said nervously, holding her belly. When it truly came time to give birth, Xu Mumu was quite nervous.
A chaotic scene ensued, with the entire Xu Family bustling around. Yin Yang immediately carried Xu Mumu to the car and took her to the hospital. He felt more reassured with her in the hospital than at home.
At the hospital, labor pains started. Xu Mumu could still endure them, but Yin Yang, babbling anxiously beside her, made her more irritable.
"Go out, you’re distracting me." Xu Mumu waved Yin Yang away, feeling like his worry was making her anxious.
After Yin Yang left, Xu Mumu finally felt relieved. Yin Yang’s anxious demeanor needed calming. Better to have him wait calmly outside the delivery room.
Following the doctor’s lead, the pain was bearable. It didn’t take long for Xu Mumu to give birth, smoothly and without much suffering. Her excellent health played a big part in this, having absorbed all the nutrients while eating on behalf of the baby.
"It’s a boy." The doctor said with a smile, bringing the cleaned newborn over. So many people accompanying the birth, it was a first for the hospital.
The little baby was red and a bit wrinkled, not very attractive yet.
Xu Mumu placed the child beside her, the little one clasped his tiny hands tightly and kept his eyes closed.
The baby seemed insecure, but upon being placed beside Xu Mumu, he relaxed a bit.
The family members gathered around, especially Li Caixia, who followed the doctor to wash the newborn grandson. Having heard tales of babies being stolen in hospitals, she was understandably cautious, so she went along.
The little one cried a bit at first but was now asleep.
"Our grandson’s eyebrows and eyes look just like Mumu’s; he’ll surely grow into a handsome young man." Li Caixia remarked with excitement, watching the little one.
"Keep your voice down, don’t wake him up." Xu Hai tugged at his wife, reminding her that her loud voice might disturb the little baby, who twitched a bit from the noise.
"I wasn’t loud. I was being quite soft." Li Caixia said, albeit a bit sheepishly. Maybe her voice was a bit loud.
"Mom, I want to nap. Please call me when the baby wakes up." Xu Mumu said tiredly, having been too worn out to fall asleep sooner, though labor was smooth, it was still a lot to endure.
"Alright, sleep tight. I’ll go back and bring you some postpartum meals. Madam Chun surely has fish stew ready, you can eat it when you wake up." Li Caixia quickly said, suggesting her daughter should rest well. Having experienced childbirth discomfort several times herself, she understood it well.
After Xu Mumu dozed off, Li Caixia instructed her son-in-law to watch over the grandson carefully before hurrying back home.
Yin Yang’s lips twitched. This sort of instruction didn’t need a mother-in-law’s reminder.
