Chapter 98: Chapter 98: What, My Nephew Doesn’t Want You Anymore?
Even though she was on vacation, her workload hadn’t lessened at all.
There were still many factory matters that required Ivy Sherwood’s decision. Since it was already nighttime, Ivy figured she might as well handle some work right there.
Just then, the staff member who had spoken with Ivy earlier came over. "Miss Sherwood, we double-checked, and we do have a spare room."
"Huh? Didn’t you say there weren’t any?"
"It was a mistake on our staff’s part. There is actually one suite available."
"So I can stay there?"
"I’ll take you there now." The staff member was much more enthusiastic than before.
Ivy Sherwood closed her laptop and followed her. "Thank you. Sorry to trouble you."
Half-doubting, Ivy followed her, her finger hovering over the emergency call button on her phone. If anything seemed wrong, she would press it without hesitation.
She was mainly afraid it was another trap set by Silas Blackwood or Charlie Rhodes.
After being set up so many times, she had naturally become more suspicious.
The staff member led Ivy Sherwood to another area, to a standalone villa that was worlds better than her previous location.

"Miss Sherwood, this is it. Please get some rest. Let us know if you need anything." Ivy looked around the suite. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
"Thank you for your trouble."
Ivy Sherwood put down her suitcase. ’Thank goodness I don’t have to sleep outside tonight.’
Ivy had already resigned herself to working outside all night. It seemed fate was still on her side.
She went back to finishing her work when, suddenly, she heard the sound of a door closing behind her.
Ivy jumped in fright. ’Who is it?!’
She had just turned her head, unable to see anything clearly, when all the lights in the room suddenly went out. The space was plunged into darkness, with only the faint glow from her laptop screen remaining.
She froze instantly, not daring to move, even holding her breath.
"Who’s there?"
"Stop playing games! Who sent you? What do you want?"
But the room remained silent. There wasn’t a sound.
It was as if the sound of the door closing had just been her imagination.
"If I’ve offended you in some way, you can just say it to my face." As Ivy spoke, she fumbled for her phone beside her.
She didn’t dare make any sudden moves. She unlocked her phone, ready to call for help.
But before she could dial the number, a hand grabbed her wrist, and the phone fell from Ivy’s grasp, clattering to the floor.
Her laptop was snapped shut, plunging the room into complete blackness. The next second, a body pressed against Ivy’s.
He trapped Ivy between himself and the desk. The crisp scent of cedarwood... Just as Ivy thought it seemed familiar, she heard a low, husky voice.
"What, my nephew doesn’t want you anymore?"

That familiar scent, that familiar voice.
Ivy’s heart was still pounding. She barely dared to confirm, "Uncle?"
"It’s you?"
Quentin Blackwood didn’t let go of Ivy. In the darkness, their bodies were pressed extremely close. The man’s breathing was heavy; Ivy could feel his warm breath on her skin.
"So? Were you hoping it was me, or not?"
Ivy had genuinely been terrified just moments ago, but after hearing Quentin Blackwood’s voice, a wave of joy, like she’d hit the jackpot, washed over her.
"I was outside. Did you see me?"
Ivy recalled what Quentin Blackwood had just said—"My nephew doesn’t want you anymore"—and it all clicked.
’How could a room suddenly become available? This must be Quentin Blackwood’s room.’
"What do you think?"
"Thank you for taking me in. I’ll go turn on the lights." With that, Ivy started to stand up.
But she had forgotten she was still trapped against the desk by someone. As she stood up so abruptly, she crashed right into Quentin Blackwood’s arms.
It was too dark to see anything, and her lips even brushed against something soft.
"I... I’m sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose."
But Quentin Blackwood had already straightened up, and Ivy could feel the oppressive presence in front of her disappear.
Letting out a long sigh of relief, Ivy rubbed her burning cheeks. She was just about to go turn on the lights when she heard Quentin Blackwood say, "Lights on."
The next second, all the lights in the suite came on. She’d almost forgotten this was an age of smart home controls.
Ivy lifted her gaze and got a clear look at the man in front of her.
Quentin Blackwood was, as ever, dressed in a well-tailored suit. His face was extremely close, a face without a single flaw. His skin was so clear even women would be envious.
Looking up from below, the line of Quentin Blackwood’s jaw was absolutely perfect. His hair was combed back, revealing a high forehead, giving him the look of an elite professional who had just finished work.
His amber eyes lowered, and the moment they met Ivy’s, she felt a jolt, as if electrocuted. Her mind went numb, and she quickly averted her face, dodging Quentin Blackwood’s gaze.
Ivy was about to pick up her phone, but the man saw her intention and beat her to it.
The man bent down and handed the phone to Ivy. His hand was also strikingly handsome, with well-defined, dry fingers. Ivy now felt that the wrist Quentin Blackwood had grabbed moments ago was also burning hot.
Ivy took the phone. "Thank you."

"So, my nephew really doesn’t want you anymore?"
"I’m the one who doesn’t want him."
Quentin Blackwood gave a cold smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
He suddenly reached out, pinching Ivy’s chin and scrutinizing her face.
"Coming here together for a honeymoon? Should I be congratulating you on your recent marriage?"
"Does Uncle want me to be here on a honeymoon with him, or not?" Ivy threw Quentin Blackwood’s own question right back at him.
"Hah." A subtle curve formed on Quentin Blackwood’s lips as he released Ivy’s chin.
An inexplicable feeling of irritation seemed to rise within him, and he suddenly felt the urge to smoke.
There really weren’t any other spare rooms at the resort. He didn’t know why, but seeing Ivy sitting all alone under that parasol, looking so homeless, had made him have someone bring her to his room.
She had clearly come with Silas Blackwood. With just a word from him, there was no way Silas would have locked Ivy out.
Turning off the lights when he came in was just to scare Ivy a little, to tease her.
Just then, Ivy answered, "I came here to serve a prison sentence."
’Perhaps Silas Blackwood came here to have a honeymoon with those other women. As for me, being here is worse than being in prison.’
’But seeing Quentin Blackwood... it doesn’t seem so bad anymore.’
’At least this room is much more comfortable than that other one.’
"Did Silas Blackwood wrong you?"
"No." Ivy shook her head.
’It’s not that I was wronged. Just seeing him makes me uncomfortable. I wish Silas Blackwood would just disappear from my world forever.’
’Besides, I already gave it right back to him on the spot.’

"Tell me how he kicked you out."
Quentin Blackwood walked over to the sofa and sat down, crossing his long legs. He leaned back slightly, the very picture of a powerful man at ease.
There were cigarettes and a lighter on the coffee table. He picked one up.
"Do you know how to light a cigarette?" His deep eyes looked toward Ivy.
"Yes!" Ivy came over, knelt beside Quentin Blackwood, took the lighter, and lit the cigarette for him.
Then she said, "It’s not really that he kicked me out. I didn’t want to see him, so I left on my own."
Ivy briefly explained what had happened. Quentin Blackwood just grunted in acknowledgment, then picked up his phone and sent a message.
Back in the other room, Ivy’s departure had only made Silas Blackwood more annoyed. But he quickly turned his annoyance into amusement, enjoying himself with the two other women as a way to put Ivy out of his mind.
Just then, the door to the room was thrown open. Silas Blackwood didn’t even have time to pull on his pants as he stared in horror at the three men who entered.
"Who are you? What are you doing?"
But the three men walked right in, lifted Silas Blackwood up, and threw him out.
"Apologies, Young Master Blackwood, but you can’t stay in this room tonight."
