Chapter 80: Chapter 80: If You Won’t Kneel, I’ll Break Your Legs and Leave You There

"Uncle, you’re the one who told me to look," Silas Blackwood said, looking back at him.

"You’ve already looked. The person you’re looking for isn’t here."

"But there are still places I haven’t checked, like the study. Uncle, she might be in the study."

Quentin Blackwood’s gaze darkened. "There’s no one inside."

"That’s impossible. Uncle, if there’s no one in there, why are you so nervous?"

The fact that Quentin Blackwood had shown up only made Silas Blackwood more certain that the woman was inside.

"I said, there is no one inside."

The more Quentin Blackwood insisted, the more convinced Silas Blackwood became. "If there’s no one, then I’ll just go in and see for myself."

"Who gave you permission to cause trouble here?"

"Uncle, I fell for her first. I know she’s your woman now, but I can wait. When you get tired of her, when you’re done with her, can I have her then?"

"I’m not trying to fight you for her, I just like her so much. I never thought I could like a woman this much. I haven’t been able to sleep these past few nights. All I dream about is her. Even when I’m with Anna Nash, all I can picture is her face."

"Enough!" Quentin Blackwood’s face went cold. Even though he didn’t like Ivy Sherwood, he found Silas Blackwood’s words disgusting.

"If she’s not in there, you will go outside and kneel for a day."

"No problem!" Silas Blackwood agreed in a heartbeat.

He was sure the woman was in there.

Silas Blackwood pushed open the study door and stepped inside, overjoyed, imagining the face he’d been dreaming of day and night appearing before him.

However, after scanning the room, the smile froze on his face. There was no one there.

Forget a person, there probably wasn’t a single living creature in the room.

Quentin Blackwood walked in behind him. "I told you. No one."

"Impossible. This is impossible. She must have left. Did you let her go on purpose because I was coming?" Silas Blackwood refused to believe it.

"You can go outside and start kneeling now."

The thought of kneeling for a whole day made Silas Blackwood want to refuse.

"You cheated! You hid her beforehand! Uncle, she’s the only woman I’ve ever loved in my life. Can’t you just give her to me?" Silas Blackwood started to throw a tantrum.

But Quentin Blackwood’s eyes narrowed, and a dangerous aura pressed down on Silas Blackwood.

Quentin Blackwood had plenty of ways to deal with people like Silas Blackwood.

He waved a hand, and the butler from behind stepped forward.

"Throw him out. Have someone watch him kneel. He is not to get up until after dark."

"Yes, sir." The butler accepted the order.

"Uncle, I was just kidding! Uncle..."

He saw Quentin Blackwood’s retreating back and tried to go after him, but the butler blocked his path.

Quentin Blackwood’s men—even his butler—were skilled in martial arts. Silas Blackwood was no match for him. He started screaming curses from behind, "Quentin Blackwood, you despicable bastard, you—AH!"

Before he could finish, the butler grabbed Silas Blackwood’s chin and dislocated his jaw.

As a squeal escaped Silas Blackwood’s lips, before he could even process what happened, the butler quickly snapped his dislocated jaw back into place.

Tears streamed down his face from the pain, but the butler merely said coolly, "My apologies, Young Master Blackwood. My hand just slipped."

"If Young Master Blackwood would prefer not to have his legs broken and end up crawling on the ground, it would be best to kneel properly," the butler added, a helpful reminder.

The words "broken legs" sent a shiver down Silas Blackwood’s spine.

Quentin Blackwood was a different breed of ruthless—a man who would actually go through with breaking his legs.

...

「Meanwhile」

Ivy Sherwood was already in a car from the Blackwood estate.

When she was led away, she thought they were actually taking her to the study. It was only as she followed that she realized they were leaving through the back door.

’Just when she thought Quentin Blackwood was a good person, he would always act the part of a villain. And just when she thought he was a villain, he would prove her wrong.’

The driver who was taking her also happened to be the same one as last time.

To avoid revealing her identity as Ivy Sherwood, Ivy had the driver drop her off at Lustre University.

Only after the driver had left did Ivy take another car home.

She went home, showered, changed her clothes, and put on some makeup.

’She’d just pretend last night never happened. Besides, a face like hers probably wouldn’t be seeing much of Quentin Blackwood in the future anyway.’

After tidying up, Ivy had a simple piece of toast and headed to her studio.

Her operation was still small-scale, with only a few employees, so it couldn’t be called a company just yet.

Ivy Sherwood had a lot to do today. Her phone was blowing up with messages, most of them from people wanting to license The Iris Brand and co-sell the iris perfume.

There were also many inquiries about various collaborations with Iris, requests to become distributors, companies offering to handle marketing and planning for Iris, and even those asking if Iris was looking for a brand ambassador.

Ivy could barely keep up with the messages. The most important thing now was to contact the factory to restock their products quickly.

As their orders grew, their shipping speed had to keep up. Ivy also contacted her packaging supplier. All the gift boxes and complimentary gifts were personally designed and selected by Ivy, showing her complete dedication.

Yesterday’s sales had exploded, and the hype hadn’t died down today. The volume of orders hadn’t decreased at all, with pre-orders already stretching into next month.

Ivy also checked on the Sherwood Company’s stores. She noticed that without the buzz from yesterday’s celebrity endorsement, sales today were completely flat.

Even though they were in a prime location in the mall, very few customers seemed to be making purchases.

This was more or less what Ivy had expected. She knew the Sherwood Company’s finances weren’t as good as they appeared on the surface. The last perfume they had promoted, under the name of the "genius Perfumer" Thea Sherwood, had secured many orders. But when news of plagiarism broke, everyone demanded refunds and contract cancellations. The Sherwood Company had lost a lot of money, which was like pouring salt on a wound.

She wondered how much longer the Sherwood Company could hold on. Ivy felt it was a shame; after all, her mother had poured her heart and soul into building it.

Just then, there was a knock on Ivy’s office door.

"President Sherwood, you have a visitor."

’A visitor?’

"Who is it?" Ivy asked.

"He says he’s your father."

Timothy Sherwood pushed right past them and came in from behind. The others couldn’t stop him.

Timothy Sherwood shook off the people holding him back and stormed into Ivy’s office. "I told you, I’m your boss’s father."

Ivy hadn’t expected Timothy Sherwood to be the one looking for her. If she remembered correctly, she had already cut ties with him. What was he doing here now?

From the looks of him, Timothy Sherwood hadn’t been resting well for a long time. His face was pale and haggard, the dark circles under his eyes were severe, and he looked to have lost a significant amount of weight.

"You can all get back to work," Ivy told her employees.

The employees quickly left, closing the office door behind them.

Ivy didn’t ask Timothy Sherwood to sit, nor did she offer him any water. She just said directly, "What do you want?"

"Ivy Sherwood, is that any way to talk to your father!"

"If I recall correctly, I already severed all ties with you last time. So, I’m sorry, but I don’t have a father."
