Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Quentin Blackwood Says: My Woman
"I’ve already told him you’re here. I’m sure he’ll be here any minute."
"What?" Ivy Sherwood’s face went pale.
’He told Silas Blackwood?’
’If Silas Blackwood catches me here, I won’t be able to get away anytime soon.’
"What’s wrong? You look surprised. Do you know my nephew?"
"No, I don’t."
"If you don’t know him, then this is perfect. It’s a good opportunity to get acquainted."
"No, no... there’s no need, Mr. Blackwood. I have an 8 a.m. class, and I’m going to be late. Thank you for bringing me back last night. I’ll be going now."
Hearing Silas Blackwood’s name was like seeing a ghost for Ivy Sherwood. It was clear her dislike for him had reached a whole new level.
However, before Ivy Sherwood could leave, she heard the butler announce, "Mr. Blackwood, Mr. Silas Blackwood is here and wishes to see you."
Ivy Sherwood’s eyes widened. ’He’s here that fast?’
’Did Quentin Blackwood really tell Silas Blackwood I was here?’
Quentin Blackwood, however, frowned. He had only been bluffing, just to tease Ivy Sherwood. He had no ulterior motive.
What he hadn’t expected was that Silas Blackwood had actually shown up.
"What’s he doing here?"
Ivy Sherwood was confused.
’Didn’t you tell him to come?’
Quentin Blackwood looked up at Ivy Sherwood. "Don’t you have an 8 a.m. class? Why haven’t you left?"
’If I go out now, I’ll run right into Silas Blackwood. No way.’
"I think I got the day wrong. My 8 a.m. class is tomorrow. I’m not in such a hurry. I can leave later."
"Fine." Quentin Blackwood nodded. "Then let’s have my little nephew come in."
Ivy Sherwood was speechless.
At that moment, Ivy Sherwood mentally cursed every curse word she knew. She took back every nice thing she had thought about Quentin Blackwood!
"Un—" The word "cle" barely left her lips before Ivy Sherwood quickly corrected herself. "Mr. Blackwood, I’ve never met Silas Blackwood, and I don’t want to have anything to do with him in the future. I hope you can help me and send him away."
"Why should I send him away? It’s perfectly normal for a nephew to visit his uncle."
"But I don’t want to see him. Please, Mr. Blackwood." Ivy Sherwood was truly frantic.
Her watery eyes, filled with pleading, were indeed enough to soften anyone’s heart.
"Silas Blackwood already knows. Do you think I can get rid of him that easily?"
"Then can you let me hide somewhere?"
’This time, I have to hide better. I can’t just hide in the study like last time and get cornered by Caleb Blackwood.’
’Norhaven is so big. If Silas Blackwood really tries to search, he might not be able to find me.’
Quentin Blackwood just gave her a cool glance. "Take her to the study."
Ivy Sherwood was floored.
’The study again?’
"What, you don’t want to?" Quentin Blackwood asked, feigning ignorance.
"Mr. Blackwood, can’t I hide somewhere else? Even a storage room would be fine."
"No. The study. If you don’t want to go, fine. You can say hello to my nephew," Quentin Blackwood said lazily.
He was like a villain, laying his malicious intent bare, leaving Ivy Sherwood with no choice at all.
"Fine. The study it is."
She had no choice but to agree. ’Last time, Quentin Blackwood hadn’t known I would return. This time, he knows I’m in the study, so he surely won’t bring Silas Blackwood over.’
Still, Ivy Sherwood was nervous. Her palms were sweating.
Quentin Blackwood just gave a slight nod. Ivy Sherwood said, "Thank you, Uncle."
The moment she said it, Ivy Sherwood wanted to slap herself. ’Can I take that "thank you" back?’
’Quentin Blackwood was the one who supposedly called him over in the first place! He caused all this trouble for me, and what the hell am I thanking him for!’
But Ivy Sherwood didn’t have time for regrets. She had to hurry and hide.
Only with Quentin Blackwood’s permission was Silas Blackwood allowed to enter.
Seeing Quentin Blackwood, Silas Blackwood was incredibly excited. "Uncle!"
Before Quentin Blackwood could even speak, Silas Blackwood asked impatiently, "Uncle, where’s the woman you brought back last night?"
Silas Blackwood’s eyes kept darting past him, as if he wanted to barge in and search every room in Norhaven.
Yesterday, his father had forced him to look for that woman. He held no hope and didn’t want to do it at all, so he just had someone do a quick search. The result was that they couldn’t identify the woman Quentin Blackwood had taken.
The unexpected surprise came from the Lustre U forum. Someone had posted a few photos, saying they’d run into an absolute goddess near campus last night.
His father, Caleb Blackwood, hadn’t been interested at first. But when he clicked on the photos, it turned out to be the woman Silas had been obsessing over, the one who made his heart race!
Instantly, all his sleepiness vanished. He had searched for so long without finding a single clue, and now he had unexpectedly seen her like this.
Caleb Blackwood had someone look into which department and class this woman was in at Lustre U, but the results came back empty. There was no information.
She wasn’t at Lustre U at all. She wasn’t a student there.
But she was wearing a Lustre U uniform, so how could she not be a student?
Silas Blackwood suddenly remembered that the woman Quentin Blackwood brought back yesterday was also wearing a Lustre U uniform.
’So that’s how it is! No wonder she was wearing the uniform but wasn’t a student. It’s probably just my uncle’s weird fetish. They were doing some uniform roleplay, and he must have forced her to wear it!’
’That explains it. How could a holy prodigy like Quentin Blackwood fall for a woman so easily? But if it’s *her*, then it all makes sense.’
’Who wouldn’t be captivated by her at first sight? Even my uncle would be no exception.’
’When I went back last night, Dad even wondered if it was Ivy Sherwood, based on her figure. He said Ivy Sherwood had been getting close to Uncle recently. Ha! How could it be that ugly hag, Ivy Sherwood?’
’Quentin Blackwood wouldn’t fall for Ivy Sherwood, not even in his next life.’
With this theory in mind, Silas Blackwood had driven over impatiently. It was still early; he might be able to catch the woman.
’I usually prefer ’clean’ women, but if it’s her... even if she’s been with my uncle, I wouldn’t mind.’
"What do you want with her?"
"Uncle, you don’t understand! I saw that woman last year and I’ve been thinking about her for a whole year. I saw her again at a banquet recently, and I just can’t forget her. Uncle, can you please let me see her? Just one look!"
Silas Blackwood had never tried so hard to please Quentin Blackwood. "I have something I want to say to her. Uncle, please give me a chance."
"She’s not the person you’re looking for," Quentin Blackwood said coldly.
"I’ll know if it’s her once I see her." Silas Blackwood didn’t believe him. ’It has to be her!’
"She left," Quentin Blackwood said flatly.
"I don’t believe you." ’It’s so early, she’s probably not even up yet. How could she have left?’
"Uncle, do you dare let me search for her myself?"
"She’s my woman. Why should I let you search for her?" Quentin Blackwood said, his voice laced with a warning.
Those two words, "my woman," cut Silas Blackwood to the quick. He was the one who saw her first, so how had she become his uncle’s woman!
His eyes turned red. "Uncle, are you perhaps feeling guilty? Are you afraid that after she sees me, she won’t want you anymore?"
Quentin Blackwood was silent.
’Where does Silas Blackwood get this confidence? Doesn’t he realize how ridiculous he sounds right now?’
"And what if you can’t find her?"
"If I can’t find her, I’ll do whatever you ask, Uncle! No complaints!"
"Alright," Quentin Blackwood agreed. "Then go ahead and search."
Once he had permission, Silas Blackwood shot past him like a wild dog let off its leash, barging straight into the house.
Quentin Blackwood calmly sipped his tea. Silas Blackwood went to the bedroom first, but after a thorough search, he found nothing.
’She couldn’t have left. Uncle seemed so possessive. She must still be here.’
Silas Blackwood searched all over, finally passing by the study.
’Could she be in the study?’
Silas Blackwood thought for a moment. ’Better to be wrong than to miss my chance.’ He was just about to push the door open when Quentin Blackwood’s voice came from behind him.
"Silas Blackwood!" His voice was as commanding as ever. "That’s far enough."
