Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Quentin Blackwood, I’ve Brought Your Wife
"You... you stop!"
"Stop? You looked like you were enjoying it."
"I’m going to call the police! I’m calling the police!"
"Go ahead. I just got out of the station." Going to the police station was a regular occurrence for him.
The more Anna Nash struggled, the more excited the man became. Besides, this woman had come to him on her own. Dressed like that, if he didn’t mess with her, someone else would.
The man was incredibly strong; Anna Nash couldn’t escape at all.
In the end, he got what he wanted.
When it was over, the man buried his head in her chest, seemingly unable to let go.
The man held her and tried to soothe her. "You were the one who came out dressed like this and threw yourself at me. Even if you call the police, you kissed me first and got in my car willingly. If you say you don’t know me, even the cops won’t believe you."
"My boyfriend won’t let you get away with this!" Anna Nash glared at him viciously.
"Oh, you have a boyfriend? That makes things even easier. If he finds out about this, do you think he’ll still want you?"
"No man wants a woman another guy’s had. My name is Gideon Gordon. You can ask around—I’m a well-known boss in this area. Stick with me, and I’ll make it worth your while."
Anna Nash cried, her nails digging tightly into her palms.
’That’s right. I can’t call the police. I can’t let Silas Blackwood know about this. He would definitely leave me.’
’But I can’t just let someone sleep with me for nothing! I can’t swallow this insult!’
"The people chasing you might come back. Since fate brought us together, why don’t you stay at my place tonight?"
"Don’t worry, what just happened was a moment of impulse. I’m a good guy. Don’t be scared."
Since it had already happened, Anna Nash wasn’t the type to dwell on things. She preferred to think about what came next. ’And maybe this isn’t such a bad thing after all.’
"Give me your phone. I need to make a call."
Gideon Gordon handed her his phone. "Calling your boyfriend?"
Anna Nash didn’t answer. She dialed Silas Blackwood’s number several times, but no one picked up.
Anna Nash handed the phone back to Gideon Gordon. "Let’s go to your place."
Gideon Gordon grinned, the scar on his face looking particularly terrifying.
On the way, Gideon Gordon stopped the car, went to a nearby pharmacy to buy some medicine, and handed it to Anna Nash. "I assume you don’t want to be pregnant with my child."
Anna Nash looked at the box of pills and took the water Gideon Gordon offered her.
Under Gideon Gordon’s watch, she pretended to take the pill, but actually hid it in her palm.
’I have to get pregnant. Since Silas Blackwood isn’t capable, whose child it is doesn’t matter!’
...
Caleb Blackwood’s men returned to report that Anna Nash had escaped and they hadn’t been able to capture her.
’Can’t even catch one person.’ But he wasn’t in a hurry.
He’d heard his third brother had moved into a new place. It seemed he planned to stay in Lustre for the long term. For the Blackwood family, this was both a good and a bad thing.
Quentin Blackwood was far too calculating. He had seen it in him since he was a child, which was why he had driven Quentin away.
Now, Caleb Blackwood needed Quentin, but he was also afraid of what Quentin might do to the Blackwood family.
Therefore, he decided to pay him a visit right away.
Even though it was already late at night, Caleb Blackwood had his men prepare the car.
After leaving the Blackwood estate, Ivy Sherwood planned to book a hotel room first.
But she browsed for a long time and couldn’t decide where to stay.
As Julian Grant was driving by, he suddenly spotted a woman sitting on some steps in the distance.
’Isn’t that Quentin Blackwood’s niece-in-law?’
’This isn’t far from the Blackwood estate. Was she kicked out?’
"Pull over. Stop the car," Julian Grant ordered his driver.
The car stopped in front of Ivy Sherwood. Ivy bit her lip, deciding to book the same room Quentin had stayed in before. If it was extravagant, so be it.
Just as she was about to pay, a car pulled up in front of her.
"Ivy Sherwood, that’s your name, right?"
Ivy Sherwood looked through the rolled-down window at the person in the back seat. "You’re Julian Grant?"
"You know me?" Julian Grant didn’t recall ever really meeting Ivy.
"The famous Young Master Grant. I’ve heard of you." She had mostly seen him in the news. Julian Grant was a big boss in the entertainment industry, after all.
"Where are you headed? Get in, I’ll give you a ride."
"Thank you for the kind offer, Young Master Grant, but that’s not necessary."
"Don’t be a stranger. Get in. As it happens, there are a few things I’ve been wanting to ask you."
Quentin refused to say anything, so of course, he wanted to get some gossip from Ivy.
"Well then, thank you, Young Master Grant." Ivy thought for a moment and got into Julian Grant’s car.
’After all, there are some things he might be able to help me with. This is actually a great opportunity.’
If she was going to start her own company, create her own brand, and open a chain of stores, she would definitely need a spokesperson.
Julian Grant’s talent agency was practically the leader of the entertainment industry, and there was an artist under his management whom Ivy quite liked.
"Where do you live?" Julian Grant asked.
Ivy gave him an address. Julian was surprised. "You’re staying at a hotel?"
"Yes." ’I don’t know if Gabriel Walker has left yet. It’s still not safe.’
In Julian Grant’s eyes, however, this meant she was homeless. He hadn’t realized she was in such a pitiful state.
He stroked his chin and smiled. ’Well then, I might as well do a good deed all the way.’
Soon, the car pulled into a courtyard. Ivy was so engrossed in her pleasant conversation with Julian that she didn’t notice.
It wasn’t until the car stopped that Ivy realized something was wrong.
’Weren’t we going to the hotel? Where did Julian Grant take me?’
Julian Grant got out of the car first, and Ivy followed. Then she realized the place looked a little familiar.
"Young Master Grant," a butler came to greet them.
Julian gestured for Ivy to follow. She frowned but trailed behind him.
She followed Julian inside and saw a man busy working over to the side.
"Quentin, look who I brought you!"
Ivy: "..."
Quentin, looking up: "..."
If Ivy had known Julian Grant was bringing her here, she would never have gotten in the car.
The last time she saw Quentin, they had parted on bad terms. She never expected to see him again so soon.
"Uncle," Ivy said, greeting him anyway.
Julian Grant, thinking he had done a good deed, said, "I was just passing by the Blackwood Manor Entrance and saw her there. She was about to go to a hotel, so I figured I’d bring her to you."
"I’ve got something to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now." Julian patted Quentin’s shoulder and whispered in his ear, "You owe your buddy for this one."
After saying that, Julian scurried away faster than a rabbit.
Ivy didn’t know whether to stand or sit. She could only say, "Young Master Grant seems to have misunderstood something. I didn’t ask him to bring me here."
Quentin didn’t respond to her statement. Instead, he asked, "You went to the Blackwood estate?"
"Yes. Uncle Blackwood asked Silas and me to come for dinner."
Quentin nodded. "You’re staying in a hotel?"
"Young Master Grant misunderstood. It’s not that I have nowhere to go. I’m sorry to have disturbed you, Uncle. I’ll leave now."
As she spoke, Ivy started walking toward the door. But just as she reached it, she saw a car stop at the main gate of Norhaven. Caleb Blackwood was getting out.
Ivy froze. She didn’t dare go outside!
