Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Silas Blackwood Is Finally Smart for Once
"Get out." Silas Blackwood didn’t want to say another word. He was in a foul mood, and anyone who approached him now would be walking into the line of fire.
His mind was filled with the image of Quentin Blackwood walking out, holding that woman’s hand.
He had bought so many things to woo her—roses, luxury goods—but in the end, he hadn’t even gotten to see her.
’But that woman was willing to get a room with my uncle. What the hell am I lacking?!’
And who on earth had fed him this fake news about Ivy Sherwood getting a room with another man?
He had actually believed it, then stupidly gone over there.
’All those company shares... If I had transferred all of them to Ivy Sherwood, my father would have killed me.’
Luckily, apart from the media, no one else knew what happened today. Otherwise, he would have been humiliated beyond belief.
’As for the shares, I have to find a way to talk to Ivy Sherwood. At worst, I’ll just have to be a little nicer to her, reach an agreement, pretend to transfer the shares, and then have her transfer them back.’
’But what if Ivy refuses?’
’And this time, did I manage to piss off my uncle?’
Anna Nash had no idea what had happened. The more silent Silas Blackwood was, the more anxious she became.

"Silas, what on earth happened? Why did someone else answer when I called you? Did you go out? Who did you go see?"
Anna Nash was too insistent, and her incessant questioning completely infuriated Silas Blackwood.
Silas Blackwood sat bolt upright. "I told you to get out! Are you deaf? You’re so damn annoying, get the hell out now!"
The hand he pointed at the door was trembling, and his eyes were crimson and bloodshot. He looked truly furious.
For a second, Anna Nash even thought Silas Blackwood was about to raise his hand to strike her.
Frightened, Anna Nash chose to leave the hospital room for the time being.
Then, she quietly found a less crowded spot and used a different phone number to contact the media.
The media outlet’s line connected quickly. Anna Nash asked impatiently, "Did you get the shot?"
"Get what?" the person on the other end asked directly.
"The tip I gave you! The story about Ivy Sherwood getting a room with another man. Don’t tell me you didn’t go!"
Why was this reporter so calm, as if nothing had happened? A sudden panic gripped Anna Nash’s heart.
’Could my plan have failed again?’
’Impossible. Absolutely impossible.’
’The person I hired was watching all night. Ivy Sherwood and that man were supposed to have stayed in the room the entire time.’
’And my people only left after seeing the media arrive, to avoid being discovered. So where did it all go wrong?’
"We went. There was no Ivy Sherwood. Don’t come to us with fake tips like this in the future."
"What? How is that possible!"
But the reporter had already hung up impatiently. If it weren’t for this person’s tip, they never would have offended President Blackwood. Now, it was uncertain whether President Blackwood would retaliate against them.
They may have stumbled upon a huge scoop, but who would dare report it?
Anna Nash, still in disbelief, demanded, "How could there be no Ivy Sherwood? Did you go to the wrong place? I’m certain she was there!"
Only after she finished speaking did she realize the other party had already hung up.
Disregarding the risk of exposing herself, Anna Nash called several other media outlets. But as soon as she mentioned Ivy Sherwood, they all hung up on her after just a few words.
Anna Nash bit her lip. ’What on earth is going on?’

’There’s no way Ivy wasn’t there. And they couldn’t have all gone to the wrong place. There was no problem with the room number I gave them.’
’The media is being evasive, and Silas fainted. Something big must have happened.’
Right now, Silas Blackwood was the only one who held the key to the answer.
Anna Nash didn’t just wait around. She went home first, made a lot of Silas Blackwood’s favorite dishes, and returned to the hospital in the afternoon.
Anna Nash knocked on the door and went back in.
"Silas, I’m sorry. It must be something I did wrong to make you angry. I know I was wrong, but it’s only because I was so worried about you that I acted so impulsively. I’m sorry, Silas." Anna Nash softened her voice and even knelt before Silas Blackwood’s hospital bed.
Silas Blackwood just watched Anna Nash coldly, not telling her to get up.
He was still fuming and needed an outlet for his anger, but he just didn’t feel like moving.
Anna Nash’s tears fell silently. Her pitiful appearance only made Silas Blackwood more irritated.
"Alright, stop crying. It’s so annoying."
’That other woman was so beautiful. When she left, every step felt like it was walking all over my heart. I saw everything—even her feet were gorgeous.’
Silas Blackwood was indeed hungry. Smelling the aroma of the food, he sat up, picked up his chopsticks, and began to eat the meal Anna Nash had brought.
Seeing Silas Blackwood eat, Anna Nash got up from the floor, poured him some water, and sat down beside him.
"Silas, when I called you this morning, someone else answered your phone. He said you fainted at a hotel. What happened at the hotel?"
"Nothing," Silas Blackwood said vaguely.
Seeing that Silas Blackwood didn’t seem angry at her question, Anna Nash continued, "I also heard the person who answered the phone say he was from the media. He said he got a tip that Ivy Sherwood was... last night..."
Silas Blackwood paused mid-bite and looked at Anna Nash. "What are you trying to say?"
"I just heard that Ivy Sherwood got a room with another man last night. Since you went to the hotel today, did you see her?"
Anna Nash thought she could easily manipulate Silas Blackwood and assumed he wasn’t angry, which was why she asked so directly.
But Silas Blackwood frowned. "Heard? Who did you hear it from?"
Anna Nash said vaguely, "Just... from the media."
Anna Nash had no idea that for the media, that morning’s raid had been like opening a blind box and finding Quentin Blackwood inside.
On top of that, Quentin Blackwood had issued a stern warning. No one dared to report on what happened. There was no way Anna Nash could have heard it from the media. Anna Nash was lying.

’So, this was Anna’s doing?’
Silas Blackwood observed Anna Nash’s expression and said impassively, "I don’t know who sent me the fake tip. Ivy Sherwood wasn’t in the room."
"How could that be? How could Ivy Sherwood not be in the room?"
The moment the words left her mouth, Anna Nash realized she had been too agitated and had said the wrong thing.
Clearly, Silas Blackwood had caught on. "How are you so sure Ivy Sherwood was there? Was this your doing? Did you send the tip to the media?"
"N-no... It wasn’t me," Anna Nash tried to argue.
But in that moment, Silas Blackwood’s intelligence finally kicked in. "That time we were photographed together—you were the one who called the media, weren’t you? And now you’re using the same trick again. Do you take me for a fool?"
"No, Silas, you’ve misunderstood."
"Still trying to deny it? Take out your phone right now. If there are no messages to the media, I’ll believe you."
Tears rolled down Anna Nash’s cheeks. She knew she had no room to argue. Silas Blackwood had already made up his mind; any more lies would be useless.
Anna Nash made one last attempt. "I just happened to see Ivy Sherwood getting a room with a man yesterday. I was thinking about how you got hurt because of her, and I just wanted to get some revenge for you."
She lifted her eyes, only to see Silas Blackwood’s face filled with disgust. "Did you just happen to run into Ivy Sherwood getting a room with another man, or did you deliberately hire another man to take her there?"
