Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Framing Ivy Sherwood Again

To outsiders, the Blackwood Family’s apology was sincere, and their actions were generous. You could say there was nothing to find fault with.

Public opinion online was starting to shift again. In short, it was a total mess.

Ivy Sherwood scrolled for a bit, but she closed her phone without even finishing the video the Blackwoods had posted.

She handled some business at the office for a while longer. It wasn’t until evening that she found out Timothy Sherwood was at a club entertaining clients.

It was already late when Ivy Sherwood got the news, and by the time she arrived, Timothy Sherwood had already left.

She hadn’t been able to see him, and with everything that had happened today weighing on her, Ivy decided to just get a private room for herself.

Unfortunately, it was the club’s busiest time, and all the private rooms had been booked in advance.

There were no private rooms left, but they did have booths available in the lounge area where she could drink.

Ivy ordered a lot of alcohol and started drinking by herself.

Ivy opened a bottle and started chugging it. The hard liquor slid down her throat, igniting like a flame in her windpipe. The burn sent her into a coughing fit, nearly bringing tears to her eyes.

Ivy caught her breath and then opened another bottle.

In another private room, Anna Nash and Gideon Gordon were sitting together.

"Why is that Ivy Sherwood so damn lucky? After all this, the Blackwood Family still hasn’t called off the engagement." Anna Nash clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, yet she seemed not to feel the pain.

She had thought that after setting up Silas Blackwood, things would develop to a point where Ivy Sherwood wouldn’t want to marry him. Forcing Ivy to be the one to break the engagement would surely have succeeded.

But not only did the Blackwood Family not call off the engagement, they even gave Silas a beating.

’What kind of vixen is this Ivy Sherwood!’

"Calm down. That scheme of yours was a gambit that hurts the enemy by a thousand but costs you eight hundred. The Blackwoods aren’t calling it off because Ivy Sherwood herself didn’t do anything wrong," Gideon Gordon said, taking a drag from his cigarette.

Anna Nash looked at him. "What do you mean by that?"

Gideon Gordon said, "Look at Silas Blackwood’s attitude. Is he adamantly demanding to call off the engagement?"

Anna shook her head. Silas had only been angry at the beginning. When he went to see Ivy Sherwood later, he didn’t really say anything.

And now he was even apologizing to Ivy Sherwood online and admitting he was wrong.

"That’s because Ivy Sherwood isn’t the one who did something wrong. Do you think Silas Blackwood would still want her if she slept with someone else?"

Gideon Gordon’s words were a wake-up call for Anna Nash. ’That’s right,’ she thought. ’I’ve slept with Silas for so long; I know him better than anyone.’

’A man like Silas is proud and arrogant. The type who can fool around with countless women, but his own woman absolutely cannot betray him.’

’If Ivy Sherwood slept with another man and it was exposed, Silas would definitely not want her.’

’If Silas was the one kicking up a fuss to call off the engagement, then maybe there’d be a chance.’

She could feel that Silas didn’t seem to dislike Ivy Sherwood as much anymore. She couldn’t let things continue to develop this way.

’Besides, if Ivy Sherwood were to sleep with someone else, the Blackwood Family would blame Ivy, and it would have nothing to do with me.’

’I was being foolish. How did I not think of this sooner?’

"I’ll go make the arrangements right now!" Anna couldn’t wait another second.

She couldn’t wait to see the internet flooded with news of Ivy Sherwood sleeping around, to watch Ivy’s reputation be utterly destroyed.

Anna left the private room, her mind racing with how she could lure Ivy out, drug her, and get her to a hotel room. But as she stepped out, she saw a familiar figure drinking at a booth in the lounge area.

’Isn’t that Ivy Sherwood!’

Anna was secretly overjoyed. ’Talk about an easy catch.’

This was a high-end club, and most of the patrons were wealthy businessmen. But many people, rich or not, can’t change their basic nature.

Especially many rich men who, after drinking too much, would still try to lure any beautiful woman they saw into bed.

The men who frequented this kind of place usually weren’t lacking for female company, so they would only go for women who were gorgeous and had great bodies.

Someone as plain as Ivy Sherwood was actually quite safe here.

Even if Ivy got drunk, those men would take one look at her face and lose interest. After all, they’d seen every kind of beauty imaginable. They weren’t so desperate that they wouldn’t be picky.

Ivy was drinking quietly over there, completely undisturbed.

Anna immediately returned to the private room and told Gideon Gordon about it.

Gideon Gordon knew a lot of guys. Since Ivy was already drunk, it would be perfect to have one of them take her to a room.

Gideon Gordon said, "Leave it to me."

He then stepped aside to make a call, asking one of his guys to come over.

Ivy had been drinking hard, and the drunkenness hit her just as fiercely. Her stomach was churning, but she couldn’t throw up, and the feeling was unbearable.

Her head felt like a needle was stirring her brain. Ivy leaned against the sofa, rubbing the spot between her eyebrows.

Just then, a man walked over. "Miss, drinking all by yourself?"

"Did something happen? Why don’t you let me join you for a drink?"

This was the man Gideon Gordon had arranged to come over. Fearing Ivy wouldn’t fall for it otherwise, he had specifically picked a handsome one.

’This woman’s looks are really nothing special,’ he thought. ’There’s no way I could bring myself to touch her.’

’Anyway, John just said to take her to a hotel room. He didn’t say I had to actually do anything to her.’

’I’ll just take her clothes off, and all that matters is that the media gets a picture tomorrow morning.’

’I’ve already booked the room. I’ll take this woman there directly in a bit.’

"Get lost!" Ivy didn’t even lift her gaze, let alone look at the man.

"Don’t be so fierce. It’s not good for a woman to be too aggressive; no man will like you." The man picked up a nearby bottle and, pretending to pour Ivy a drink, dropped a pill into her glass.

’This mission has to succeed, no failures allowed. Better to use a little something to be safe.’

"If something’s bothering you, you can tell big brother all about it. I’ll help you sort out your troubles. I’ve been watching you from over there for a while. Seeing as you’ve had so much to drink, I even got a room for you. Finish this glass, and then you can go get some proper rest."

The man handed the room key and the drink to Ivy, but she pushed them away immediately.

She was drunk, not stupid.

She didn’t like being hit on, and she hated trouble. Ivy stood up and started staggering toward the exit.

The man quickly followed, putting a hand on Ivy’s waist. "Look, you can barely walk straight. I’ll take you to the hotel next door to rest. Here, take the room key."

Ivy shoved the man away, but he latched onto her again.

Not far away, Anna Nash watched the man lead Ivy away, extremely satisfied.

’It seems heaven is still on my side,’ she thought. ’At least this time, Ivy Sherwood will be the one to suffer.’

The man tried to wrap his arm around Ivy’s waist again, muttering, "Her face is a little plain, but I didn’t expect her body to be this good."

However, just as his hand touched Ivy’s waist, it was forcefully yanked away by a powerful grip.

"Who the hell?" The man turned around, annoyed, only to meet a pair of dark, menacing eyes.

The man instantly froze as if his pressure points had been hit. Staring at the taller, larger man before him, he felt a chill run through his body from the man’s powerful aura.
