Chapter 174: Chapter 174: You Lured Your Nephew’s Wife Into Bed?
Ivy Sherwood saw the list of media outlets that had gone to film Silas Blackwood today; Nina Scott had already compiled it for her.
She contacted the outlets directly. They claimed that a "Miss Sherwood" had told them Silas Blackwood was getting a hotel room with someone. Ivy was determined to find out exactly who was behind this tip.
She had originally thought the media outlets would never reveal their source and that it would take some effort to get the information.
To her surprise, they were far more forthcoming than she’d expected. They told her the tip had come from a specific phone number. When they asked the person for their name, the response was simply, "My surname is Sherwood."
It was all done via text message. Ivy Sherwood immediately asked for and received screenshots of the conversation, as well as the phone number itself.
Ivy went to run a check on the number. Since all phone numbers were now registered with real names, it was easy to investigate. She quickly found out that the number was registered to a man named Gideon Gordon.
Ivy had never heard the name before, but as she dug deeper, she discovered that this Gideon Gordon seemed to have a connection to Anna Nash.
She found a photograph of Gideon Gordon and Anna Nash together.
The evidence was irrefutable. This was all Anna Nash’s doing, a drama she had staged herself.
Ivy Sherwood quickly drafted a Weibo post. She had to clear her name, and a livestream wasn’t enough. She needed hard evidence and a formal announcement.
’This seems a little too easy,’ Ivy thought. ’Why were the media outlets suddenly so cooperative? And how did a photo of Gideon Gordon and Anna Nash just happen to pop up the moment I searched for him?’
But Ivy didn’t have time to overthink it. She compiled everything—the new evidence, along with all the bed photos with Silas Blackwood that Anna Nash had previously sent her—into a long Weibo post and published it.
Then, Ivy called Julian Grant, hoping he could buy her some trending spots on the hot search list to absolutely bury Silas Blackwood.
Julian Grant readily agreed. "No problem."
After getting all this done, Ivy Sherwood was very satisfied. Only then did she head to the Blackwood family estate to discuss calling off the engagement with Caleb Blackwood.
The internet erupted into absolute chaos, and Ivy was keeping a close eye on the developing storm.
In the taxi, she scrolled through the hot search rankings. Almost every single topic was about her.
’I didn’t realize Julian Grant was so reliable,’ she thought. ’How long has it been? It took me less time than it does to go downstairs for him to push so many topics to the top.’
’A pro is a pro. That was fast.’

Topics like these dominated the top of the hot search list. Following close behind were numerous other trending topics cursing out Silas Blackwood and Anna Nash.
Seeing this, Ivy felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
This was exactly what she wanted. To blow the situation up so much that the Blackwood family would have no way to clean up the mess, forcing them to agree to call off the engagement.
She called Julian Grant. "Mr. Grant, thank you. You work with incredible efficiency."
Julian Grant: "?"
He had just contacted his company’s PR department and told them to get ready. In other words, he hadn’t even started yet.
Usually, when it wasn’t a pre-planned PR move, it took some time—at least an hour for things to start gaining traction.
The speed at which Ivy’s situation blew up was as if it had all been prepared in advance. Someone was definitely pulling strings behind the scenes.
He had seen the news online, too. As the boss of an entertainment company, how could he not know the media’s tricks of the trade?
Such a short amount of time, yet such a heavy-handed approach.
There was probably only one person capable of doing something like this.
"Don’t mention it," Julian Grant said.
After hanging up with Ivy, Julian immediately dialed another number.
It took a while for the call to connect. A cold voice came from the other end, as terse as ever, perfectly fitting the man’s persona.
"Speak."
"This was your handiwork, wasn’t it?" Julian Grant chuckled.
’Quentin Blackwood, oh, Quentin Blackwood,’ he thought. ’This must be the first time you’ve ever made a move for a woman.’
All the major influencer accounts were reposting, and there were so many trending topics detrimental to Silas Blackwood and Anna Nash.
Quentin Blackwood said, "I don’t know what you mean."
"Still playing dumb."
Julian began his analysis. "First of all, those media people are all seasoned old foxes. How could Ivy Sherwood have so easily obtained their chat records and phone numbers? You must have given them a heads-up beforehand."
"And that photo of Anna Nash with that guy... It’s not that easy to just find something like that with a simple search. How come I couldn’t find it? That must have been your doing too, right?"
"Also, all those trending topics, with so many influencer accounts speaking up... who is Ivy Sherwood to them? Why would they risk offending the Blackwood family to speak up for her? Besides, you have to pay a lot for some of those major accounts to post a single thing. Getting to the top of the hot search rankings isn’t something that happens easily."
"Ivy may not understand how this circle works, but you think I don’t?"
Quentin Blackwood: "..."
"But you know, your girl even called me for help. You didn’t tell her what you did?" Julian found it strange. If Quentin was going to help her, why wouldn’t he let Ivy know?
"Do not tell her," Quentin said, just four words.
After a pause, Quentin added, "If Ivy Sherwood asks, tell her it was your doing."
Julian chuckled. "Our President Blackwood is a businessman who never lifts a finger without a profit. To think you’d help someone in secret and not even let them know."
It wasn’t that he was truly helping Ivy Sherwood. She had been the one to go looking for the evidence herself. If she hadn’t thought of it, she never would have found it.
He had merely made it possible for her to find the evidence more quickly. A small favor, nothing more.
"How come I’ve never seen you help me like this before?" Julian teased.
He then picked up a glass of water beside him, preparing to take a sip.
"Why should I help you? It’s not like you’ve been in my bed," Quentin said coolly.
"COUGH! COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!" Julian, who was in the middle of drinking, choked on his water. It took him a moment to recover.
"Wh... What?" He thought he had misheard. "You got your nephew’s fiancée into your bed?"
’Leave it to Quentin to be this ruthless,’ he thought. He had originally assumed Quentin just had a special interest in Ivy Sherwood.
’I never thought he’d make a move so quickly. Does Silas Blackwood know about this?’
"Anything else? If not, I’m hanging up." Quentin didn’t have time to waste on idle chatter with Julian.
"Whoa, hold on, let’s talk a little more! Why don’t you tell me how you managed to lure her into bed?"
"She might look ordinary, but to be able to seduce you, she must have something special. Is she really good in bed?"
"And also, does she..."
Before Julian could finish his sentence, the call was disconnected from the other end.
’That Quentin. If he didn’t want to talk about it, why did he have to say something to pique my interest in the first place?’
’If Quentin and Ivy really have that kind of relationship... an uncle and his nephew’s fiancée... that’s just too scandalous.’
Even TV dramas wouldn’t dare to write a plot like this!
’Does this mean there’s going to be a twist in Ivy and Silas’s engagement?’
’No wonder Ivy is so determined to break off the engagement. And her use of public opinion was so brilliant... so it turns out she’s got her eyes on her fiancé’s uncle.’
Quentin Blackwood hung up and set his phone aside.
His gaze fell upon the laptop in front of him, which displayed Ivy Sherwood’s lengthy clarification post on Weibo.
Quentin stood up. The butler approached him. "Sir."
"Prepare the car. I’m going to the Blackwood estate."
