Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Are All Mistresses This Arrogant Nowadays?

Anna Nash helped Silas Blackwood get dressed. After they both washed up, they finally headed out.

In the car, Anna Nash asked, "Isn’t it a little early to be going to the bridal shop?"

Silas Blackwood lifted his wrist and glanced at his watch. ’It’s nine o’clock. Not early at all.’

Silas Blackwood scoffed. "Ivy Sherwood has probably been waiting for a while. We’re not even early."

"It’s so early. Ivy Sherwood probably isn’t there yet," Anna Nash murmured.

"What did you say?" Silas Blackwood hadn’t heard her clearly, only catching Ivy Sherwood’s name.

"Nothing. I was just saying that Ivy Sherwood must be waiting for you."

Silas was satisfied. ’Ivy Sherwood must have rushed over, unable to wait. I’ll let her stew for a bit. When I get there, I’ll act more intimate with Anna Nash to make her jealous.’

Silas Blackwood got out of the car, taking his time deliberately and having Anna Nash link her arm with his.

Anna Nash was, of course, delighted. She linked her arm through Silas Blackwood’s, and they went up to the bridal studio together.

The entire shop had been reserved for them. As soon as Silas Blackwood went upstairs, an attendant greeted him. The staff had never met Ivy Sherwood before, so when they saw Anna Nash arrive with him, they rushed forward. "You must be Miss Sherwood. We’ve already prepared several wedding gowns for you. Would you like to come and try them on?"

Hearing this, Silas Blackwood frowned. "Ivy Sherwood isn’t here yet?"

This completely baffled the staff. ’What does he mean? The woman who came with Mr. Blackwood isn’t Miss Sherwood?’

’But they’re so intimate, with their arms linked and standing so close.’

’Is he really bringing his mistress along to his fiancée’s wedding dress fitting?’

The attendants’ eyes widened in disbelief.

"Miss Sherwood... probably... she probably hasn’t arrived yet."

Now it was Silas Blackwood’s turn to be annoyed. He was here, and Ivy Sherwood still hadn’t shown up?

He tried calling Ivy Sherwood, but the line was always busy, or no one picked up.

’She must be driving,’ he thought. ’Maybe she’s on her way, just stuck in traffic. She’ll probably be here soon.’

So he waited. Ten o’clock came and went with no sign of Ivy Sherwood. Then eleven, and still, she hadn’t arrived.

It wasn’t just Silas Blackwood who was embarrassed; even the attendants could feel the suffocating tension in the air.

Silas Blackwood’s expression turned ugly. He called Ivy Sherwood again. She finally picked up, her voice sharp. "I’m busy. Don’t bother me!"

Before Silas could even get a word in, she hung up.

Silas was seething. Anna Nash quickly clung to his arm. "Silas, maybe Ivy Sherwood is just too busy with work. My figure is actually pretty similar to hers. Why don’t I try on the gowns for her? What do you say?"

"Don’t mention her to me!" Silas snapped, thoroughly irritated.

He’d been waiting for Ivy Sherwood for so long, coming here first thing in the morning. And what did she do? She just decided not to show up, without so much as a word.

"Silas, don’t be angry," Anna cooed. "You know how Ivy Sherwood is. She’s just doing this to get your attention. If you get mad, you’ll be falling right into her trap, won’t you?"

Silas thought for a moment and decided Anna Nash had a point.

’Maybe this is just Ivy Sherwood’s scheme to get my attention.’

"Silas, it’s okay that Ivy didn’t come. We can’t let the trip be a total waste, right? Besides, we can take some pictures and send them to her. When she sees how good we look together, she might even regret not showing up."

That convinced him. Silas decided they should take plenty of photos to send to Ivy Sherwood and make her regret not coming to the fitting.

He also wanted to show Ivy that even if she stood him up, he still had someone to try on dresses with. That there were plenty of women who would love to marry him.

Silas Blackwood and Anna Nash tried on several outfits. Silas was a bit absent-minded through it all, but Anna was ecstatic.

The attendants didn’t know what to think. ’Here’s the mistress, taking wedding photos with another woman’s fiancé, wearing the gowns meant for the bride-to-be, and looking so happy about it. Are all mistresses this shameless and brazen nowadays?’

Anna Nash posted the photos to her social media feed, and Silas deliberately sent them to Ivy Sherwood as well. He was determined not to let Ivy have a moment’s peace.

Ivy Sherwood did see them. But she couldn’t have cared less.

It made no difference to her who Silas Blackwood tried on gowns or took wedding photos with.

When you truly dislike someone, all you feel is annoyance. Nothing they do can affect you in the slightest.

Besides, she thought, ’Don’t Silas Blackwood and Anna Nash make a perfect pair?’

Ivy wasn’t angry, but Nina Scott was furious. The moment she saw the photos, she called Ivy.

"Ivy, whatever you do, don’t look at your social media feed!"

Ivy: "..."

Anyone hearing that would, of course, immediately go look at their feed.

"Too late. I’ve already seen it."

Since Ivy had already seen them, Nina didn’t hold back and launched into a tirade. "Seriously, how desperate for a man can that Anna Nash be? How shameless! And is that her wedding dress she’s wearing? She loves wearing other people’s things so much, she’d even pick up their trash. She’s just cheap to her very core."

Nina Scott had never liked Anna Nash, and she was really letting loose now. "That green tea bitch is even bitchier than Thea Sherwood. She should be the one named Thea. Let’s call her Thea Nash."

"I’m so pissed! I even messaged her to curse her out, but she didn’t even dare to reply. In the old days, they would have drowned someone like her in a pig cage! There’s really no limit to how shameless a person can be. A bitch and a dog—a match made to last forever!"

"Alright, alright, don’t be so angry," Ivy said soothingly. "It’s not worth getting worked up over people like that. Besides, if you get sick from anger, you’re the one who suffers."

"Ivy, how are you not even a little bit angry?"

"Why should I be? I don’t even like Silas Blackwood. I don’t care who he takes wedding photos with. Frankly, I think it’s great that Anna Nash is by his side. Hopefully, she can keep that man on a tight leash and stop him from bothering anyone else."

"Ivy, you have an incredible attitude about all this." Nina was genuinely impressed.

"What’s the alternative? Should I go make a scene and cling to him? Anna posted those photos to get a rise out of us. If we actually get angry, we’d be falling right into her trap."

Nina took a deep breath. Ivy was right. She couldn’t give a bitch like Anna Nash the satisfaction.

Silas Blackwood sent the photos with Anna Nash to Ivy Sherwood, but he received no reaction. This wasn’t what he had expected.

’Ivy should be regretting her actions and fuming with anger by now.’

Just as he was staring at the photo and starting to have doubts, a call came from Caleb Blackwood.

"Dad..."

"Get your ass back here right now!"

Hearing the fury in Caleb Blackwood’s voice, Silas had no choice but to hurry out.

When he got back to the Blackwood estate, he was met with a cane. Caleb Blackwood chased him around, striking him. "You unfilial son! I told you to try on wedding gowns with Ivy Sherwood, and what do you do? You take some low-class woman with you instead!"

"Ivy’s the one who didn’t show up!" Silas protested. "I waited for her for hours."

"She’d have to be a ghost to show up while you were there with another woman!"

A sudden realization struck Silas. He was right. If Ivy had shown up with another man today, he would have been furious and refused to go.

Suddenly, it all made sense. That must be why Ivy didn’t come. A wave of delight washed over Silas.

"Dad, you said I have to marry Ivy next month," Silas said, voicing a new concern. "What if she’s not willing? What if she runs away?"

He was discovering that the thought of marrying Ivy Sherwood wasn’t as unbearable as he’d once believed.

A vicious glint flashed in Caleb Blackwood’s eyes. "She can run, but she can’t hide. If she refuses to show up, we’ll dig up her mother’s ashes. We’ll see if she shows up then."
