Chapter 142: Chapter 142: Quentin Blackwood: Who Else Do You Want to Be Kissed By?

Although Nina Scott had no filter and loved to gossip loudly every day, making her seem experienced, she was really just an armchair general.

Her real-world experience was zero, but that didn’t stop an adult from understanding what was going on.

The thought of what was happening in the next stall made Nina Scott incredibly nervous.

’She had just been calling for Ivy Sherwood in here. Doesn’t that mean the people next door heard everything?’

Not wanting to interrupt a good thing, she quickly changed and got ready to leave, eager to share this juicy bit of gossip with Ivy Sherwood.

Once outside the changing room, Nina Scott decided to call Ivy Sherwood and ask where she was.

Ivy Sherwood finally breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Nina Scott leave.

"Quentin Blackwood!" Her dewy eyes were shimmering with frustration, a look that only made one want to tease her more.

Though she called his name in anger, it sounded more like a lover’s complaint.

"So, you feel nothing when I kiss you like this?"

"My hand on your waist—you feel nothing from that either?"

Quentin Blackwood seemed determined to make Ivy Sherwood admit the very thing her heart was trying to deny.

Ivy Sherwood gasped for air. "It has nothing to do with who it is. I’d feel something no matter who was kissing me."

Quentin Blackwood’s eyes darkened. "Who else do you want kissing you? Silas Blackwood? Or Seth Scott?"

’What does Seth Scott have to do with this?’

With Nina Scott gone, Ivy Sherwood grew bolder. "If you ask me, Uncle, your tone is the one that sounds a little... sour."

"Uncle, with my face looking like this, don’t tell me you could actually be interested? Are you that desperate?"

A cold glint flashed in Quentin Blackwood’s eyes. "You think I could possibly be interested in this face?"

"If not that, what then? Maybe you don’t like the face, but what if my body satisfies you, Uncle?" Ivy Sherwood retorted, mimicking his own roguish tone.

"Since you have... needs, Uncle, why not find someone else? Why single me out? What’s the matter? Can’t you live without me?" she goaded.

"Since there’s no escaping your grasp anyway, let’s make a deal. I’ll agree to let you be in control. I’ll be at your beck and call. I’ll do whatever you tell me to do. In exchange, you help me cancel the engagement with Silas Blackwood."

’If I really can’t escape, I might as well get something out of it for myself.’

"You think you’re in any position to negotiate terms with me?"

’Besides, Quentin Blackwood just said that Joy Sheridan wasn’t his girlfriend.’

Ivy Sherwood stopped trying to get away. She hooked her arms around Quentin Blackwood’s neck, bringing her vivid red lips close to his. "How about now, Uncle? Am I qualified enough for you?"

Quentin Blackwood’s Adam’s apple bobbed. ’This woman is a little vixen.’

’Sometimes timid, other times impossibly bold.’

"And if I refuse?" His voice had grown noticeably rougher.

"Then I’ll..."

Suddenly, a phone rang, cutting Ivy Sherwood off mid-sentence.

The changing room was so quiet that the ringtone sounded incredibly loud, easily audible even from outside the stall.

Ivy Sherwood jumped, all her newfound courage vanishing in an instant.

She scrambled to pull out her phone and saw it was a call from Nina Scott.

Now Ivy was stuck. She couldn’t answer, but she couldn’t ignore it either.

Outside the stall, Nina Scott held her phone. ’Why does it sound like the ringing is coming from in there?’

Just as Ivy was about to answer, Nina Scott hung up.

She seized the opportunity to quickly silence her phone. Nina Scott walked back toward the stalls. "Ivy?"

Ivy Sherwood hadn’t expected Nina Scott to return. The confidence she’d had while trying to negotiate with Quentin Blackwood evaporated.

Nina Scott dialed Ivy’s number again. She didn’t hear a ringtone this time. ’Did I imagine it before?’

’Why isn’t Ivy picking up her phone?’

"Then you’ll what?" Quentin Blackwood asked from inside the stall, ignoring Nina Scott’s presence outside and prompting Ivy to finish her sentence.

Ivy Sherwood, shocked that he would speak, quickly clapped a hand over his mouth.

The sudden sound of a man’s voice made Nina Scott jump. It was proof that her earlier suspicions were true—there really was a couple in here...

’I’d better get out of here before I interrupt something.’

Once she was sure it was quiet outside, Ivy Sherwood finally removed her hand from Quentin Blackwood’s mouth. "We should talk about this somewhere else."

"This is a public changing room. What if someone else comes in? It wouldn’t be good if anyone saw us."

She wasn’t like Silas Blackwood and Anna Nash, who would apparently do it just about anywhere.

Besides, she had no intention of doing *that* with Quentin Blackwood.

"And what if I don’t?"

"Please," Ivy Sherwood begged, tugging on his sleeve.

"Weren’t you just trying to negotiate with me a moment ago?" Quentin Blackwood was unmoved.

"You should really consider my offer, Uncle. It’s not a bad deal for you."

"I won’t agree. Your wedding to Silas Blackwood is not going to be canceled."

Ivy Sherwood didn’t understand. "Why? What’s in it for you?"

Quentin Blackwood stared into her eyes. "Let’s just say I enjoy the thrill of the taboo."

Ivy Sherwood: "..."

’So, Quentin Blackwood feels the Blackwood Family wronged him, and messing with his nephew’s woman makes him happy? Is that it?’

’Is this what he meant when he said he could be even more twisted?’

"You...!"

Seeing Ivy Sherwood’s face flush with anger, Quentin Blackwood’s mood finally improved considerably.

"What’s wrong? Want to curse me out?"

Ivy Sherwood snorted. "No, I wouldn’t dare."

"Is it that you don’t want to, or you don’t dare?"

"Is there a difference? It amounts to the same thing." Ivy Sherwood knew that as long as this man wanted something, she could never escape his grasp.

’But I refuse to believe he can stay in Lustre forever, can he?’

"So, why did you corner me in here? What did you want to say? Were you just trying to see if I have feelings for you? Or did you want to show off how many admirers you have? Don’t tell me you actually wanted me to get jealous and fight over you."

Quentin Blackwood: "..."

Why had he cornered Ivy Sherwood in here? He didn’t even know himself.

Joy Sheridan’s appearance had been unexpected. He had no desire to interact with her and had already rejected her countless times.

When he saw Ivy Sherwood leave, Quentin Blackwood had wanted to tell her not to believe a word Joy Sheridan said.

He wasn’t sure how things had ended up like this.

"What did Joy Sheridan say to you?" Quentin Blackwood asked.

Ivy Sherwood heard the question and felt as if she were being aggressively interrogated.

"What? I didn’t bully her, if that’s what you’re thinking."

Quentin Blackwood gave a cold smile. "You’re no match for her. Stay away from her."

Joy Sheridan might look like a pampered socialite, but her methods were ruthless. If Joy Sheridan decided to target Ivy Sherwood, Ivy wouldn’t stand a chance as she was now.

He would get Joy Sheridan to return to Aethelgard as soon as possible, but he worried she might have already set her sights on Ivy Sherwood.

"I’m not an idiot." Ivy Sherwood was the kind of person who hated trouble more than anything; she wouldn’t go out of her way to provoke anyone.

"Right, not an idiot," Quentin Blackwood’s voice softened, a hint of amusement in his tone.

"If she comes after me, it will be because of you. Since you know the woman likes you, can you please stop attracting the attention of other girls? Cheryl Yates was a victim, and I have no desire to be the next."

"Attracting other girls? Who have I been attracting? You?"

Ivy Sherwood: "..."

The man’s voice dropped to a low murmur. "Who was it that provoked whom first?"
