Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Who Helped Her

"Ivy wasn’t going that fast originally. She just made a move to intervene, and now it seems like she can’t slow down. I think there might be a problem with her car."

Julian Grant was something of an expert himself, so he immediately spotted that something was wrong.

However, just as he finished speaking, he saw Quentin Blackwood striding toward the back.

"Hey, Quentin, where are you going?" Julian Grant called out from behind him.

But Quentin didn’t even look back, and since Julian wanted to see what happened next, he didn’t follow.

Up in the VIP seats, Joy Sheridan seemed to hear Quentin Blackwood’s name. Her gaze drifted downward, but she couldn’t see anything.

’She was sure she’d just heard it. Could Quentin be here?’

A smile touched her lips, her face filled with delight. ’Quentin must have heard I was here and came especially for me.’

Joy Sheridan instructed the person beside her, "Go and check if Quentin Blackwood has arrived."

Silas had been furious with Ivy, and it took Anna a long time comforting him in the car to restore his confidence. Only then did Silas Blackwood feel a little better.

Anna Nash took the opportunity to bad-mouth Ivy Sherwood, intending to make Silas Blackwood hate her. But seeing Silas’s impatient expression, he snapped, "Alright, stop talking about her. You’re not much better."

Anna bit her lip. ’What does Silas mean by that? Is he getting tired of me?’

’Thinking about how Silas had been acting the past few days, and hearing the rumors that he was constantly surrounded by other women, Anna’s sense of crisis deepened. Her time was running out.’

After she had pacified Silas, he left with his arm around Anna’s waist, not even bothering to lock the car door.

When Quentin Blackwood arrived at the parking garage, he saw only the two of them leaving.

His eyes narrowed. He walked straight over, pulled open the door of the fiery red race car, and got in.

The fiery red race car shot out like an arrow released from a bow. The spectators were stunned. Who would accelerate so aggressively right at the start? Who was driving that car?

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the three cars. After Ivy had blocked her, Nina Scott had taken the opportunity to slow down. But when she slammed on the brakes and nothing happened, she knew she was in trouble.

Meanwhile, Ivy had accelerated to get past, and now she couldn’t slow down at all. Although she quickly reached the finish line, her speed made it impossible to stop. She had no choice but to continue into another lap.

Anyone else in this situation would have been scared stiff, but inside the car, Ivy Sherwood remained perfectly calm.

’As long as I maintain my balance, the car will eventually slow down.’

Unfortunately, the track was full of hazards. A sharp turn was coming up, and without excellent skill, a crash was inevitable.

A driver needed to decelerate for that turn, but at Ivy’s speed, her turning radius would be too wide. It was very likely she and the car would be thrown from the track.

The spectators in the stands gasped, breaking out in a cold sweat for her. Yet, as Ivy sped toward it, she executed a beautiful fishtail drift, navigating the treacherous curve smoothly.

However, immediately after the curve was a ramp. It was so steep that it completely blocked Ivy’s line of sight, preventing her from seeing if there were any cars at the bottom.

She couldn’t see, but the spectators could. Directly in her path, a car was moving extremely slowly. At Ivy’s speed, a collision was unavoidable!

Just as everyone’s hearts leaped into their throats, someone spotted the red sports car. "Look! Everyone, look!"

The red car was being driven with audacious aggression, the driver flooring the gas pedal to push it to its absolute maximum speed.

The track itself was uneven. If you looked closely, you’d realize the car wasn’t just relying on its tires gripping the road. Instead, it was using a series of drifts and rotations to navigate the track. This method of control was incredibly difficult, but it ensured safety while maintaining blistering speed.

His speed was unimaginable. While overtaking on a downward slope, his car went completely airborne, sailing right over the top of another car.

The two cars ahead weren’t that close, but given his speed and trajectory, he was bound to crash into the one further ahead upon landing.

Everyone watched on the edge of their seats, some not even daring to breathe. If he crashed, it would be a major accident.

The red sports car landed on its left wheels, the entire chassis tilted up. Its right wheels scraped right over the roof of the other car.

His speed didn’t diminish. Impossibly, with the car still tilted on its side, he shot past the side of the car in front.

Before the driver ahead could even process what had happened, the red sports car was gone.

This technique—overtaking from above, overtaking on two wheels—was on par with a professional racer. In fact, even a professional might not be able to pull that off.

Everyone who saw it marveled, ’Just who is that? To have that kind of skill...’

The red sports car quickly caught up to the gray one.

Quentin Blackwood’s gaze was fixed on the gray car ahead. With a flicker in his eyes, he accelerated even more, surging forward.

He reached the crest of the ramp at almost the same time as Ivy Sherwood. Ivy also saw the slow-moving car in front of her, and her heart sank. ’Why is that car going so slow? I’m definitely going to hit it, aren’t I?’

But in the next second, the fiery red sports car beside her shot out in front and slammed into the slow-moving car, knocking it aside.

The car was knocked to the side, clearing a path for Ivy as if sweeping aside an entire army.

The spectators’ eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the sight.

Ivy’s heart trembled. ’That car... is that Silas Blackwood’s car?’

’Is Silas the one driving?’

’But why would Silas help me?’

The red sports car continued ahead, but it had now slowed down, driving almost parallel to Ivy.

He positioned his car just in front of hers. This way, his car would encounter any obstacles first, and by watching him, Ivy would know what was coming.

For some reason, Ivy’s heart suddenly wasn’t panicked at all.

The car in front slowed, creating friction against Ivy’s car. Acting as a brake, it finally allowed her vehicle to gradually decelerate.

After another lap like this, Ivy’s speed had dropped. Even with the brake failure, she was able to decelerate through inertia. One more slow lap, and she would be able to stop at the finish line.

And the red sports car, after confirming Ivy would be safe, ended its run early and returned to its parking spot inside.

No one knew who was inside the red sports car. After safely stopping at the finish line, Ivy immediately went to the parking garage and saw the red car.

The hood of the sports car was still warm. It must have just been parked.

This was the one. It was Silas Blackwood’s car; it had been parked in this very spot earlier.

’But she had a feeling the person driving just now wasn’t Silas Blackwood.’

’Most likely, someone saw my car go out of control and came to the rescue. But who could it be?’

Ivy Sherwood looked around but didn’t see a single soul.
